Absolutely, you should be doing more blind tasting videos. It’s really entertaining and educational, since you don’t only show how to taste, but also a lot of useful insights about grape varieties and regions.
Love blind tastings but would prefer that the wines not be revealed until the end. It’s fun to try to guess the wines based on your tasting notes. Another small suggestion: swirling the wine in the light is helpful too, so that the viewer can get a better sense of the wine’s color and appearance. Love the channel!
Enjoy the thinking you use to narrow down to the right wine and region. Leon adds to the program and the casual and easy conversation you two share is a pleasure to watch. Doesn't seem like a two-month internship. Bravo.
Love the tasting face off, please make this a regular segment. I do think it would be more fun truly blind, knowing half the bottles is quite an advantage. Thanks for continuing to make great wine education content!
Always love a blind tasting from you Konstantin! Great format, but it would be even better if a 3rd person chose all the wines and we can see you guess more wines!
Loved it! Tons of fun. I love seeing people taste blindly and analytically. It's a very nice counterpoint to the usual informative format. It's fun, but also represents a more demonstrative aspect as opposed to simply being informative.
I always love the way you do the deductive thinking in a blind tasting and start to narrow the options. for me, it is a "do more of that blind/deductive tasting " !!!!
Very entertaining video, generally the blind tasting concept always makes me watch. Especially if they are slightly more "known" wines, or wines I can recognize.
Love the integrity :) I don't comment much, but I really enjoy your channel, some of your summaries are excellent and I use that information when picking a wine I am unfamiliar with.
I love those kind of videos. I have seen US, Korean and spanish wine masters blind taste and tell what wine they are tasting. The only mistakes they made (if they even got it wrong, which baffled me even further) one, was the vintage. And even then they were just a year off. Absolutely astonishing. I am 2:30 in to your video and brutally excited.
Oh my gosh, how fun was that. I have watched many of your videos, Konstantin, but never felt like my comment would be of interest. However, after watching this video I really enjoyed this tasting challenge with your Professional tasting notes, versus your intern's. This was a joy to see and experience the two of you comparing wine. Thank you for sharing. Cheers!!
I really enjoyed this format! I would like a few seconds more on each wine that was guessed wrong to explain the similarities between the guess and the actual bottle. Great job to you both!
Overall you have very good ideas for films on this channel - very good that you are not focusing only about explanation specific wine regions or grape varieties - it is much more interesting this way!
I liked it a lot, and I even guessed half the varieties correctly from your spoken information! Leon is a great addition to the presentation, please do more tasting games & competitions.
I love this format. Your videos are awesome. Your "sidekick" threw me for a spin too when he chose an 11% ABV wine! Wonderful! I'm getting into natural wines myself.. still have a long way to go! I'm more of a beer snob myself 😂
Very enjoyable episode well done by both of you really enjoy watching your Chanel always excellent content and very informative keep up the good work thanks
I’ve heard many very knowledgeable wine professionals say that blind tasting is one of the hardest things you can ask your brain to do…. That you both got 3 out 4 with the detail is just stunning!!
I really enjoyed your tasting challenge done here. You both obviously possess great depth of knowledge and outstanding and discerning palettes. Awesome!!!
Yes please, more if this 👍🏻 really enjoyable, but next time let a third person select the wines so its only unknown wines for all. Keep up the great work ❤️
To the last comment regarding the format of the video, yes! I like the second opinion and the competition 😈 fun to watch and good to see growth in the student and the master
Very nice. Could you do a video on Blaufränkisch? There seem to be some great red wines from Austria being produced with this grape variety, which seem to be elegant and with a mouth feel rivalling pinot noir.
It would be better if you blind test the 4 wines. More opportunities to follow your though process in chosing variety, country and region, vintage, etc.
Another really good video Konstantin. I like wine, but am no expert. Your videos are educational but entertaining. Keep it up. Leon seems like a good sport with knowledge and is also a natural on camera. Keep it up and thanks!
I liked it! I liked comparing both your descriptions. I liked watching your reactions during The revealing. Suggestions: Have a separate party pick the wines.
I like the format. It really shows how much there is to learn about wine and that even the most highly trained professionals don’t always have all the answers. Next time though find a way to have all four wines blind to both of you.
Fun fun fun. I loved this video. We need more videos like this with wine, especially with the young blood and the natural wine. Great stuff. Next challenge tasting, may I suggest, have your wife choose the wines, Konstantin. My wife usually chooses wines I would never think of, and you can rarely go wrong with a woman’s touch.
Cherry aromas and Oak = Sangiovese or Tempranillo? You can potentially perceive those aromas in so many red grapes varieties. Also, there are so many expressions of Sangiovese and Tempranillo, according to the different terroir and winemaking style that honestly I don't think that those kinds of assumptions could makes sense. If you taste Brunello for example, 100 % Sangiovese, but it's very difficult to perceive cherry and vanilla because Sangiovese in Montalcino usually acquires a darker fruity aroma and also many producers tend not to use first passage barriques, so you won't likely have that distinct oaky aroma.
Leon said that he can see through the wine while he was tasting the Rioja. This wine could make some people confused because the cheap Rioja's tends to be very light. Very nice video, now i am thinking about doing some blind tasting with my friends :)!
I got very influenced by the color and cherry aroma, altough the wine had a very distinct wooden / coconut aroma .. wasn't very happy with the Pinot pick and Rioja definitely made sense afterwards ..
@@schferleon i've tasted the baron del rey too and i could easily say it's a pinot noir from Burgundy depending only on the color! Thanks for the video! :)
I like the format of the guest blind tasting. Nicely done.

I second John's suggestions. Loved the format and I cannot wait for the next installment.
Definitely more of these! Loved including Leon too!
That's a brave intern. Blind tasting on TH-cam would scare the shit out of me.
I mean it kinda did haha, thank you though for the nice words

Next time!
Agree
That’s a good idea. Way tougher
yes!!! the format was cool and I liked the perspective of novice vs. master. nice
Particularly enjoyed the intern and his take on the wine and analysis when contrasted against the wine master, great video!
That makes it even funnier to watch when CB gets it wrong. Stay true!
@@TheSoteriologist Ah, so!

Extremely entertaining and educational video! Really enjoyed the vibe between you two, your intern is really skilled as well.
Thanks a lot !!
@@schferleon by the way, how did you manage to get a job in a NZ winery? It's something I aspire to do in a few years!
Love the integrity :)

Thanks!
Very entertaining tasting! Should do more of these, but have a 3rd person pick the wines.
Friend, cheap is a bad word, that's what I drink.... inexpensive, an appropriate word for the least that graces your tongue. Bless You!
Love it - also like the idea of someone else picking the wines so more unknowns

Great video - love the format!
This was a great video! Both of you are hilarious and it was so entertaining to watch!
yes I like this type of content. Thank you for sharing the knowledge
Definitely do more of these. I need to taste a Tempranillo and a Pinot side by side now to see what they have in common and how to tell them apart

I’ve heard many very knowledgeable wine professionals say that blind tasting is one of the hardest things you can ask your brain to do…. That you both got 3 out 4 with the detail is just stunning!!
To be fair they knew two wines so it was at least a 50/50 chance to get those right.
Of course tasting and smelling blind is a he'll of a ride
Absolutely great!
This was stunning and a lot fun! Would like to see more of these!! Cheers!
I really enjoyed your tasting challenge done here. You both obviously possess great depth of knowledge and outstanding and discerning palettes. Awesome!!!

Great Format! Do more of these and get him on the channel more!
I just stumbled upon Villa Maria a few weeks ago, even though it's a big producer and I love it. Great quality for a reasonable price.

So master of wine Peter Koff who regularly appears on the Wineking channel is going to be in the Mosel making Riesling. You guys should collab.
He is already back in the US but maybe another time!

Nice! I didn't like the 2020 Villa Maria one bit. Misty Cove does it for me. Still have to try Cloudy Bay.
