SAME HERE: Same thing happened to me at a food court in a mall. I was dining with my two very young children, I put my purse under my chair between my feet and sat at a table directly in front of a county police kiosk. Somebody bent down behind my chair, pulled my purse out, walked away with it and out the exit doors 50 feet away. They took my wallet and dropped my purse by the door in the grass. Somebody on the way in picked it up and brought it to the security office where I happened to be standing reporting the theft. When security viewed the cameras, not one single frame of the footage caught ANY of the action at all!!! Kicker was, it was the week before Christmas and I was at the mall to buy presents for my kids, so what little money I had to spend was gone and my children spent the holiday playing with the view small gifts they got from other people because mommy & daddy….nor “Santa” had anything under the tree for them!!!

You don't need to double up on alleged and suspect. That would mean that they're not certain that the suspect is a suspect when either one of those alone would mean not certain that they're guilty.
I just don’t carry a purse anymore. With the way phones are now (and the cases) I don’t need to carry a purse. It’s sad people out there feel they are entitled to other people’s property.

I’ve also turned off the tap and pay, internet payments and all international payments. It’s not that hard to enter a pin instead of tapping. I can also go into my app and easily turn anything back on and ask for say, tap and pay to remain on for one hour and then turn itself back off. It’s also helped me avoid impulse purchases. On occasion I have forgotten about the tap and pay being switched off, and I don’t understand why my card isn’t working. When I do realise, often that small delay has caused me to rethink my purchase.
We all need to understand and BELIEVE that yes, ppl are this brazen. They also can pretend to be your tax preparer (steal his phone number). Watch your Transunion account, ppl. A fraudster can take off the account freeze. And even made an alternate phone number look like yours, so he can have FULL access to your credit. Easily open accounts in your name. Etc.
You have to be careful with anything anymore! I gave a girl my phone because I'm blind and I didn't know how to install my Google?????? speakers software, and she took $6000 for me and overdrafted me 3000 but took the remainder of the insurance money that I got because my sons room caught on fire!
