Yeah, there's a lot to it. I'm not sure, there's a lot going on between the day's I'm in the workshop, so it's hard to say. 40-60hrs maybe, but that's pure guesswork.

How thick was the wood for the box?

Is there a risk of the wood/leather ejecting the pins over time?

No, there's no movement to work them out, plus they are barbed on one side preventing that from happening.
