Realmentei conocimiento de Opera es muy poco, pero en una ocasion, viendo un video de Pavarotti interpretando esta Aria, conecte con otro donde sale Franco Corelli, interpretando Nessum Dorma y la sensacion que rwcorrio mi cuerpo, fue algo indescriptible, es por mucho, la mejor interpretación de Nessum Dorma que he escuchado , ya que la vi con otros tenores, entre ellos, Mario del Monaco, Di Stefano, Bjorling, Pavarotti, definitivamente Corelli es el mejor Calaf de todos.

So few comments about this man - this god of a voice! How shameful it is to realise just how unappreciated he is. I hope, as time goes by, Corelli's voice will shine in the hearts of many more. To achieve this, we must educate our children to appreciate what is so very special.
Unappreciated by who? During his time from 1961 to 1976 at the Met, Corelli was known as Prince of Tenors and Mr. Soldout. Lanza, Bjorling, Pav and Corelli may be the most listened to tenors on You Tube.
@@sugarbist I'm referring to educating the masses, such as the new generation, to appreciate such a voice. I took my 15 year old son on a 6 hour road trip, playing Corelli for much of the time. By the end of our trip my son's life was forever changed. No longer Heavy Metal, but just Corelli. As for Lanza, he was much loved with a great voice, but he was an indulgent and sloppy opera singer with very little discipline.
@@sdi1111 It's wonderful that you were able to influence your son in such a way. I also feel that Lanza falls short in some of the Italian arias, but his so called American songs are truly beautiful. Young Di Stefano was very beautiful. Try his Ah Non Credevi Tu and Addio Mignon. Enjoy and thanks

Recording and microphone technology was already very good in the 50s, actually. When you're hearing bad recordings, it's because it was just recorded poorly, or played back with inferior equipment. I have recordings from the late 50s and early 60's that are amazingly crisp and transparent.
Corelli had the biggest voice on high notes. He was the only one who could sing next to Brigit Nilsson. She said that he had the most powerful upper register notes of any singer. Coming from her that is something. He could also sing high C notes which Del Monaco and Tucker couldn't do. Not that high notes is everything but it is impressive for such a big voice.
@@魚-c3d Yes, User- size of voice is not everything, but it is questionable that Corelli was superior technically than MDM. Tucker had a great high B, but all 3 tenor voices could fill any opera house. I would have to say that all 3 tenors were amazing at times, and we shouldn't search for who was better. Tucker was a terrific singer with the ability to perform across a wider variety of roles successfully. Corelli had the warmth and captivating ability in becoming intimate with his listeners. Del Monaco was a show stopper and knew what the public loved. Regardless of our favorites, all three tenors were Titans of the operatic stage.
