Wow. This is great. Another thing that I have seen drop out of trees with fish waiting on, is fishing worms beneath catalpa trees when they get caterpillars on them. Now I’m gonna have to tie mulberry’s and catalpa worms. I have never thought to try to fly fish a catalpa looking fly.

I caught a few 6lbs catfish on this fly! The "plop" is perfect. They come looking for it immediately.

I've known guys that smash a ripe mulberry into a similar fly instead of anise or vanilla.
