As a cat guy love your review of the new chassis. My history of sleds are 2004 F5, 2014 6000 El Tigre and current 2023 ZR 6000. I sure hope Cat can survive the current " stop production" they just posted.
858 Garmin is in the shop because its doing the same thing. Shop said it was the second one they had do it. will not stay on the gauge screen but will stay on the nav screen.
Beautiful footage ! Nice brand by brand comparisons based on experience. Your work to provide honest feedback in the content is well received. The time of the web / modern era is a tough balance of information vs reaction from everyone's feelings ... Keep the technical reviews coming the viewing audience can handle pros and cons ... Great job , congratulations on the new sled purchase. I hope others respect and appreciate the financial and time investment you have taken on to bring these reviews forward. Looks like more exciting content to come. DC
I have a 24 600 Catalyst and I can say it's probably the closest thing to an actual race sled. Stiff rear end on it and it just wants to go fast all the time lol. And it corners unlike any sled I've been on and has the best stock exhaust sound. And I run everything on full soft and its close to perfection. But it is way too stiff with all the suspension,
I have a 24 RXC and I feel the same way about the chassis. I hated the stock carbides though. Terry recommended some snowstud snipers in the catalyst group and they made a huge difference. I initially had darting issues when I first got the sled but once I figured out the suspension and put the new carbides on it made a world of difference
Hi Tanner; Love your videos . Thanks so much for posting. Seems like forever since we rode and your onboard video gives me hope. We've stayed at Mt. Valin many times. I remember staying there back in 2002 and the price for those cabins were 200 bucks per night. A lot of money back then but man were those nice accommodations. The grooming at and around KM 31 is the bomb ain't it? Can you please provide a link for those Heated gloves? Thanks for the tip on the screen lock. I was wondering how that was going to work with snow and ice on the screen. Your analysis of the Sno -Pro and RXC I think are spot on. My last sled was a Cat Turbo Sno- Pro and that sled rode like a tank it was so stiff. After revalving the shocks , adding QS 3's in the front , Twisted spring kit on the front track shock and softer rear springs it rode terrific and I would venture to say as good as anything out there today. Those are all things that can be sorted out and I'm glad I got the base 858 ZR with IFP shocks. Cant wait for your mod on that secondary. Regarding the roughness around the edges of the sled and comparing them to sports cars I'm sure you would get legitimate push back from current owners of the C8 Corvette. In that platform you get everything. Smoothness. speed, power, handling , killer looks and oh I almost forgot all the creature comforts you could ever want . As hard core as we are about our snow machines we want it all and the sled manufacturers have done a great job giving all that they can based on keeping the retail price "reasonable" I don't know about you but when I plunk down 17,000-23,000 bucks for an off road vehicle I don't want any excuses but unfortunately that's not the current reality. Case in point is the heated seat option for the Catalyst. In the Country Cat website there is an existing part number for the heated seat.I want one and would order it in a heartbeat. It says not available at this time. Turns out that the motor as it sits will not put enough power to keep the seat warm, When I asked the Execs at Arctic Cat they said we are going to build a more powerful alternator next year!! Yikes. Love your channel and delivery keep up the great work. Teamgreen
How does the sled turn under power at speed 60 -80 MPH in a corner? Will the sled turn and bite? I always set my sleds up with probably way too much ski pressure, but we ride like you guys. I hate that , OH S*IT feeling in a corner at speed when the sled wont turn.
Excellent presentation. Loved that thrill ride on those trails! The snow, the speed the Arctic Cat tech, and those PINES! I think my 2004 F7 EFI FireCat would do nicely on those trails!, but with only 800 miles on 'er,..... not quite broken in yet. 😆 Good job guyz, look forward to the next one!
Add a set of shapers , 150 studs, and an aggressive clutch kit then you'll really see how aggressive you can ride that cat. Especially in the tight twistys.
Whats the battery life on those gloves? Looking to get some for my wife. Also what helmet speakers for you use? I have had syphon sound for about 3 years. They have been great but I think the batteries are getting week. TIA
How did those gloves work? I bought some for my wife last season and they worked great when they worked, one glove or the other would disconnect and her hands would get cold, never knew which glove would shut down...
I’ve been subscribed for a long time was getting notifications and all , been awhile so I looked up your channel and it said I wasn’t subscribed , don’t know what that’s about.
Just wondering about mirrors in Canada, I heard that you need fix mirrors attached to the machine? Is that right? Great video keep up the good work! 😉👍
Sorry about my question but I found the answer on the FCMQ website it says; In fact, if you plan to come and visit the beautiful landscapes of Quebec, you will have to make sure you respect the ORV law. If riding on FCMQ trails, one must have proof pf purchase of a valid trail permit. One rear-view mirror firmly attached to the left side of the vehicle (vehicle built after January 1, 1998.) thanks anyway still great pictures! 😊
I love the new catalyst but its not much different than my pro crosses felt lol!! One thing i actually like better on the pro cross is the seat. Like the size and shape of new seat its just so hard. My catalyst is last year’s maybe this years seats better idk. Cat skies work great specially with good runners. The slp skies also work very well on cats. Use to love C&A but ever since the pro cross chassis my opinion just to aggressive.
Broh! Brohs! You guys need big ass windshield windows. Experienced riders always install big windows, we taking house size hahaha. Its coming I promise :) Good Video. Regards Kardis, Sweden
I love cat. The rest of the manufacturers in the game seem to always follow and use cats ideas technology and in one manufacturer actually use cats whole chassis. Thar being said it is one massive gut punch that texteon is shutting down all cat product lines . Very sad day. So my question to the snowmobile world is with cat as of now stopping production and innovation what will the other 2brands do with noone to copy and steal from. If noone steps up to refire cat up the next few years will be very very boring an not worth buying new machines as a whole

Great review! Glad Cat did a great job on their new chassis motor combo!

Glad to see a good or great product from cat Hope they can stick around

Amazing!
Maybe with the shock differences it's hard to tell now, but how is the coupled 137 vs the uncoupled 129 for riding?

Can you post the hotel you stayed at and the polar bear bar lol - I haven’t been up there in year and I think we are going up. Thanks!
My was stiff the first couple of rides , but it settled in after a.bit 😊

Was the screen defaulting back on the other guys sled due to snow dust? I had the same issue. Nice video!

Stayed at Destination Mont Valin last year. What a great spot.
Add side panel wind deflectors, they work great

If you get a metal pinging sound around 6500rpm, the dampener for the exhaust manifold spring fell out. Not to worry

So can you elaborate on the gloves, noticed the light was off at the end. ????? Thanks

Do you have a link to the gloves?
Thanks for the neutral review!
Glad you got to ride this year
Nice review. I'll wait a few seasons but they are on my radar. Currently addicted to the Lynx Rave and I just can't find anything to touch it yet.
great video...
Glad to hear that Cat is back, well sort of...
How do you get engine parts when the engine line was shut down?
Cats stock skis have always been pretty damn good.
Whats the battery life on those gloves? Looking to get some for my wife. Also what helmet speakers for you use? I have had syphon sound for about 3 years. They have been great but I think the batteries are getting week. TIA

How did the track worked?
Just gotta hope Artic Cat doesn't disappear
My first new Cat was in 1976. They went bankrupt in 1982. But they bounced back. Now it looks like the company is sold to Textron.
Thanks for being concerned. We will be thinking of you….
No race ?
Do you ever do any off-trail riding? love your videos.
Where did you go in Canada
Its Northern Quebec

Just went 155 miles this weekend on my 858 SnoPro 137, you said it in your video, “ confidence inspiring “ handling.
You didn't mention power compared to other 850's ect ?
It has 3 stages of break in so its not even at full lean out stage

I want to go to mont Valin so bad
tell the viewers the brand of those bad ass gloves
Classic sno pro can’t walk for 4 days after a 200 mile day lol
Don’t forget a mirror
Broh! Brohs! You guys need big ass windshield windows. Experienced riders always install big windows, we taking house size hahaha. Its coming I promise :) Good Video. Regards Kardis, Sweden
😂😂😂
That ski has been the same for a long time, cats just handle better always have
enjoy it !! They will be worth 10K less next season with Cat Leaving the Market---or I GUESS WITH TEXTRON PULLING THE PLUG ON CAT !!
I've read that but AC is like the Phoenix rising from the ashes they've already enjoyed 2 rebirths over the years, who's to say it won't happen again.
Or, if cat stays out of the industry, the value will go up on the cats still out there
I think they will become collectable...and the price isn't going anywhere for a long time
Lunch at “church” and just a picture of your food…😢
So respectful.
i can take ANY new sled, and make it rideable to 90% good in first 10 minutes. all these complaints... typically the rider. just ride the damn things.
