As it seems we've now lost Arctic Cat as well I hope Ski Doo and Polaris are taking copious amounts of notes. Get the price of these sleds down or at least focus on 1 decent trail sled under $15k or we won't have a sport left. Snowmobiling is about escaping the daily grind so why do we need to focus so hard on gadgets and smart shocks etc etc? It's about enjoying the ride. I know alot of folks buy these expensive new machines but alot more don't. Dollars are harder to come by these days than ever before and if we want this amazing sport to survive the prices have to come down.
Sled prices are up for sure-but I was looking at ski doo’s site. You can get a 600 MXZ with e-start for under $10,000. It’s 125 hp. It’s fully capable sled. Are we saying we want cheaper sleds and there they are right before us?
Great to see all the new stuff every year.. how about a year to work on reliability.. looking like now we may only have 2 makers of sleds and will be looking north of 20k for a sled.. refine a price point sled to keep the sport alive...thx
2025 is the last year for Yamaha Sleds.. It looks like it's the last year for Arctic Cat Sleds too. The two sleds I own now that are already paid for don't have many miles on them because we don't get much snow anymore in Southern MIchigan .. I hope to make it the Upper Peninsula for the first time this Winter.
i've said it before and i'll say it again.focus on entry level machines a bit more and grow the sport. it's in the content creators best interest, it's in the manufacturers best interest. people are feeling the pinch and won't be able to afford the high dollar machine for much longer.i tried researching for an entry level machine on the net and it was woefully bereft of info for a sub 15k machine.i went back several years of snowtrack content and you guys just focus on the latest/greatest machines almost exclusively.this episode just proves my point.calling the mxz 600r an entry level is a huuuge stretch compared to an expedition sport.
really love the assault s/b but how many "stop rides" am i gonna have..leaning towards the ski-doo something,w/ yamaha pulling out...nobody has the reliability of a yammy before they jumped into the litter box,all though primo price, more times than not,you got more than what you paid for, bring back the suit sucker twin w/non-ratchet drivers, rebuildable kyb's and a1.50"/retractable picks plus dig a hole in 12"of ice, start a fire in the middle of nowhere and of coarse side scan radar w/shot start, good vid,Merry Christmas to you all!
What’s impressive is an Alpine , Twin Track , it’s a monster snowmobile , makes a Titan 850 look like a baby mouse , who will back flip the first one !
Yes , but with TH-cam , no albums leave the sleeve , digital super clear sound makes old speakers really sound nice , Happy New Year , maybe next year sometime , Elon will exhibit his All Robot Band , drummer is good, but A.I. is No Neil Peart , free beer in Canada if you find a mouse in your bottle ,
We said that as Yammy die hards over the past several decades, since the RX-1, really. Until they reel in the pricing and get the reliability under control you're going to see less and less engagement now that the covid hysteria has died down. Insurance is up, fuel is up, interest payments are up and so is everything else right now. A lot of people cannot afford to have a 25k toy. Think about it. You can get a top of the line sport bike for the same cost with far more performance and engineering (especially in the motor) for the same price. There needs to be a reshuffling in all the brands and AC is at the forefront. Frankly, the worst parts of my Sidewinder are AC engineering. Go look at the Apex and see them running for 60000+ kms with little to no issues. No blown belts, no reverse locking up, no misaligned plastics, no electrical glitches or clutch alignment issues, etc. Reliability needs to be part of the equation going forward and every single buyer should be demanding and rewarding that ethos.
@@firstamendmenttshirt4768a couple of years ago ski doo sued cat and won. At that time they said you couldn’t sell a arctic cat, it has since passed. F&$k ski doo. All manufacturers have sued each other but never a no sell situation.
@@canucktheory3271 Heck you can get a really awesome new bike for under $10K and have great fun. It's not the same as sledding but for dollars per mile of fun, it's much cheaper.
@@canucktheory3271 Gas prices are up? Hmmmm, where is THAT happening? Stations all around my area here in the New England are hovering in the $3 range. Here MA. $2.80 range per gal. Even less down south! It's about were it was BEFORE Covid. (not during the outbreak when fewer were driving.....). Maybe it's a Canadian thing? I can't claim to know about our friends in the North country. 😉
All these useless fancy doodads are why sleds are way overpriced and manufacturers are forced to shut down. 7lbs? Who cares, really? I gained more than that over the holidays. It’s a snowmobile, not a helicopter. The bells and whistles won’t matter when they all go belly up. Manufacturers would be wise to go back to basics and make sleds affordable again, and maintainable by the average DIYer. The IQ chassis was great. Polaris should do something like that again. Keep it simple.
Yes...Polaris is pushing hard on the Gas to bring new products. Unfortunately, they bring STOP RIDES ... due haste makes waste on product design and quality. OMG 😲, not AGAIN!

The raw materials are worth about $2000 to make a sled !
@@MLSPlatformsHow much should a sled cost?
@@MLSPlatformsyou are nuts. The etec 600 is probably 3k on its own.

Sold my $14k 850 sled for an old indy 500. Don't need things like electronic suspension to have fun. I feel this is lost on the industry.
looking at the Backcountry XRS coming off Riot ,,can I put the powdermax 2" on the 43" front end?
Answer is no 2" doesn't work on wide stance Backcountry...
Great to Polaris and ski doo bring new models.
So what is the difference between the 2023 and 2024 assault boost? Simply the tune? Does a 2023 with the upgraded software ride like a 24?

Heard it on the radio this morning. Always brings a smile
Take off, eh!
still need a comp pkg in 600 and 850 NA with shot!
Read the fine print in your warranty , because there will be costly repairs.
Do I have to run 87 octane and ethonal button on ? Recall
I'd rather take the explosion risk on my '22 Assault
These manufacturers are pricing themselves out of the market. In their zest to stay relivent.
Snowtrax can you guys point out where in last years reviews you said the 850 boost feels soft on the bottom and that you preferred the 850 NA?
Arctic Cat is not going anywhere folks. Once u bleed green 💚, u always bleed green
