Hello, thanks for your time and this is a Great video. Am actually VFX/compositing student now. So, just wanted to ask you one thing that..... If you're going to give any suggestions/tips to new composting students then, which area of expertise in Compositing would you suggest to improvise in their skills. Like, Rotoscoping, Keying, Deep Compositing or any other.
Sir i have checked on nuke website about the pc requirments for nuke...the minimum ram is 8 gb and i have 16 gb installed ...should i upgrade ram to some where about 48 gb????or not
If running Windows I recommend getting a Nvidia Quadro P4000 or P5000 if you can’t afford that try getting a 1080 or a 1070 at least. And if you have a good budget get a Quadro RTX
Not really, It is pretty fast. Never had issues. Regarding the beauty not matching, if you minus all the passes from the beauty you get whatever is missing. That way you can request CG from any missing passes. Cheers
Hello Hugo! I have two questions. 1. Will the Far Cry New Dawn Teaser shot be deconstructed? 2. The Nuke Course, Will it start again someday? and if yes, will there be a funding stage again?
Hi, yes and yes. The FarCry shot was voted by my Patreons so it will be online at some point. We will be launching the course in Kickstarter just like the last time. Thanks
@@HugosDesk Happy to hear this! Is there already a date for the next time the course will run! Unfortunately i missed it last time - i cant wait to join the course!
Great tutorials and webinar Hugo! I'm a matte painter but realize more and more that having extensive comp knowledge is very helpful once working on shots that include dmp's. I was wondering if you share any of your scripts through your education schemes? Are they optional for example once you sing up for your Patreon?
Thanks so much for the kind words. Yes it is true, note an more DMP is being done in Nike so makes perfect sense. Regarding the scripts, yes if you support my Patreon on te $25 or above you get the Nuke script and a few frames from the comp of that month’s tutorial. I hope to see you on Patreon. www.patreon.com/hugosdesk
You can make a lower poly version of the geo so it is faster. Anyway for me the positives outweigh the negatives since having the geo on the comp is so useful. If you want to see more join me on Twitch. Made my first stream 2 days ago and will continue on Sunday. I am compositing a full CG shot live. twitch.tv/hugosdesk/
This is not a tutorial. It’s a real project with a real client. Unfortunately I can’t provide the project. The only thing I do is make the script and 1 single frame available for my Patreons above $20. Thanks
Sorry but I do a lot of videos and streams. They take a lot of time to make. I am trying my friend but I need to prioritise my work since TH-cam only pays like £100 per month at the moment. It’s too little. They don’t support small creators like me. Sorry
Find Twitch a much better platform with a 50/50 profit split. I like them. I am getting the same on Twitch in a 1 month then 1 year on TH-cam! It’s crazy!
Faking the rain on the face was a very smart and cool idea

Wait.. MAC ? Always thought it was trash for rendering can someone explain ? O.o
Well Mac, Linux, Windows, the OS is not important, what matters is what you do with it! They all work just fine if you know what you are doing!
@@HugosDesk Oh so you can build a pc like you would any pc, then put mac os in it ? Like a 3090 ti in a mac is possible ?
@@hugo-samson Not really, I use a Mac Pro 2019 with two AMD GPUs with 32GB of VRAM each. Works great with RedShift!

Hello sir, how to rain impact in the character.
The water is 2D stock footage projected in 3D inside Nuke. Just like this video: th-cam.com/video/VOZj8ncAt7c/w-d-xo.html
Cool work, for the wather droping on the face, that wather is a 2d animation, or is it rendered in 3d and then comp?
