    I LOVE the way you hung the waterer on the outside of the coop! BRILLIANT!

      Thank you! It’s one less thing that you have to pull out of the coop.

    Do you have problems with the girls jumping the fence? We have the mini and our chickens seem to get on the bar or roof and jump out. Our property doesn’t allow for a wide box electric fence. We have more of a rectangle fence setup like you seem to as well. I welcome any tips!

      Thanks for the comment! We have one or two girls get out a few times a week, but they desperately try to get back in. It usually helps if we clip one of their wings. If they wandered away when they got out, we’d probably be more concerned though.

    Some great mods! I like the kickstand, the roosts, and the waterer ... thinking hard about the nesting boxes at the moment. Building mine now as a 6' x 8' and will be doing a video showing some of the things I'm doing differently. I'll be stealing at least a couple of these ideas!

      Yeah I would love for the nesting boxes to pull out like his did and stay stable, but they just didn’t work for us. Thanks for the kind words and good luck on the build!

    I didn't hear you say how many chickens you run inside there?

    • @SevenSparrowsFarm
      @SevenSparrowsFarm  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      About 35. There’s plenty of room and we can actually fit more if we wanted.

    Glad I found this video. I am gathering what I need to build my Chickshaw 2.0 and glad to find your review and modifications. Since I still work a full time job I won't be home to "babysit" my chickens so any modification that makes them happy and more secure is a plus. I just received the Marathon Flat Free 26" wheels from Northern Tool today. Does it really take 20 2x4x8s?

      A lot of those you with rip down to 2x2's. I didn't have a table saw, so I just bought 2x2's. Eleven of the 22 2x4x8's from the plans will get ripped into twenty-two 2x2's. So I only bought eleven 2x4x8's. (I know that's a lot of words to answer that question. 😆) If you buy more than you need from a big box store and keep your receipt, you can always return the extras. If you won't be at home as much, I definitely recommend the poultry netting/charger to protect them from predators. (link in the description).
      Hope that helps!

      @@SevenSparrowsFarm Thanks for replying. I have enough of the 2/4s so I hope to get started with cutting some of them down to 2x2s tomorrow if it doesn't rain.

      Thank you! They are pretty chill...other than our teenage rooster. 😆
