Good job of working with what you had. I am in the process of building my Chickshaw 2.0. I have been checking out everyone's builds. I don't think I will be putting in the mineral feeder or dust bath either. I may just mount the mineral feeder on the outside so the birds don't lay in it.
Thank you, it has been holding up well. We had a few heavy storms where the lid blew up if it wasn't latched. If you live in a really windy area it may be worth putting a second eye loop latch on the top. Good luck with your build thanks for commenting
The piece that you are missing is the 1.31" x 10.5' Galvanized Steel Chain-Link Fence Top Rail. It is listed below the Teks #9 Roofing Screws on the second page of your materials list.
I was also debating whether to get the cheaper 24" wheels rather than the expensive 26" wheels. Is there enough room for the ducks/chickens to get underneath the Chicksaw to get out of the sun when it gets too hot?
The 24 inch ones leave plenty of room for the birds to go under the Chicksaw. However you may have to connect the wheels a bit further from the center to prevent the Chicksaw from rocking back with the smaller wheels. It was a simple adjustment, but works great.
It is very nice. Good job.
Thanks so much L.T. 😁 We always appreciate your support!
