They do so so so well, to play this as tight as they do without a metronome! It's such an intricate piece to play and to play it as tight as they do is insane!
@dozer1196 People argue that the reason Trivium's new album "In Waves" sounds like child's play compared to Shogun is because the band had a hard time playing some of the Shogun songs live. Simpler songs make for an easier live setting I suppose.
00:36 gives me goosebumbs, my favorite song in the last time, already ordered the whole album which is awesome. (and i thought in waves is their masterpiece) ;) genius!
They have played Torn between Scylla and Charybdis a fair amount live. I think they would avoid playing shogun mainly due to its length as opposed to its difficulty :3 But i do get your point
It is the riff. The part in the video he was playing was a higher harmony at the very end of the song. This is at the beginning with different harmonies
This is by far my favorite song on the new album man when i heard i was just like :O and down from the sky and into the mouth of hell shit all of the fuckin songs!!
they have a new line that might be coming out this year that are the same guitars but different colors with 7 strings, the entire album was recorded on 7 strings.
oh and mitomen, i got a seven string last week and i'm learning this song now, its so goddamn awesome. seven strings are more than whats just done by trivium (the only band I like that uses 7sttrings). you can go into drop A and every riff you play sounds orgasmic. buy one now!
yeah if you listen to the beginning of kirisute gomen, and then play it along with matt in the song shogun where he sings "time will not heal all of your pain, I can not wait, till it all comes crashing DOWN!"
@loc888 At the same time, how many times live have we EVER seen Trivium play Torn Between, He Who Spawns the Furies, or Shogun (songs like that off of Shogun) live? It's a valid point when people say they toned it down for In Waves because of difficulties playing some songs live regularly (obviously they nailed it for recording but that's after hundreds of tries). Their live performances are fantastic no doubt. That's not what I was getting at.
Those were cool days lol. In terms of the way they looked only of course lol. Idk I always liked Matt with short hair and Corey looked in amazing shape when Trivium did Roadrunner United. Honestly idgaf though because in terms of playing (which is what matters) they're at their peak...or are they? TRIVIUM FTW
I was given a razorback v white w/ black bevel (like matt's) and it has easily becoem my favorite guitar. I admit, I would have neverbought a Dean guitar because they are just not my style. But eventually, it does grow on you. Only problem I have with it is that it is uncomfortable to sit down and play it w/o a strap.
Luckily Trivium confirmed that they will be playing Shogun live for the first time in the near future. Torn Between is rarity though. Kinda disappointed, every time I got to a Trivium show I desperately hope they play it but to no avail...That being said I hope they play He Who Spawns the Furies live someday. That'd be something.
@Nonchiie no your wrong they hant been endorsing dean since the summer of 2008. Matt's now endorsing gibson and has a signature on the way with gibson and epiphone versions and Corey is endorsing jackson and hes his own demolition v signature off take on the way and will be availibe to buy in janruary 2011 after NAMM
Yes. I know all the lyrics to every song of theirs. It doesn't sound emo in the least bit. Of course it may not be "I RIPPED YOUR BALLS OFF AND FORCE FED THEM DOWN YOUR THROAT!" But the lyrics deal with real life things, Ascendancy was kind of political in some sense. Crusade was about murders. Shogun about mythological gods.
My favorite song of all time!
They do so so so well, to play this as tight as they do without a metronome! It's such an intricate piece to play and to play it as tight as they do is insane!

They have played Torn between Scylla and Charybdis a fair amount live. I think they would avoid playing shogun mainly due to its length as opposed to its difficulty :3 But i do get your point
I love those guitars... and this song
I love these guitars, fits very well to Trivium
I JUST CANT WAAAIIT for shogun!

i think trivium is one of the small amount of bands who keeps there music in every album talented and good and never goes to shit
man these guys can do some really kickass melody *_*
one of my favourite songs from shogun
trivium - Down from the Sky =) best song of the shogun album

It is the riff. The part in the video he was playing was a higher harmony at the very end of the song. This is at the beginning with different harmonies

Well you cant expect them to play exactly like each other, but I see your point. They do alternate pick differently.
This riff is so similar to another song, but, IS FREAKING AWESOME!
Trivium MADE the gods.
omg these guys are so godly on guitar
This is fucking awesome
ah MAZING! :)
TRIVIUM is just the fucking best band ever.
they have a new line that might be coming out this year that are the same guitars but different colors with 7 strings, the entire album was recorded on 7 strings.
@0.37 sec is sooo coooooooool :o :D
thats the first single of the album, called down from the sky. check it out :)
uma das melhores do shogun
When Matt started play the harmoniy with Corey i pretty much jizzed all over my keyboard.
oh and mitomen, i got a seven string last week and i'm learning this song now, its so goddamn awesome. seven strings are more than whats just done by trivium (the only band I like that uses 7sttrings). you can go into drop A and every riff you play sounds orgasmic. buy one now!

@loc888

Their live performances are fantastic no doubt. That's not what I was getting at.
what tuning are they playing at ??
Drop D ??
It might come out the same day it comes out in the U.S, or maybe later... Not totally sure though.
The intro doesnt play that many times does it?
wat model is that the one matt using??
@ReaperOfMen im not surprised, because in alot of blink 182 songs they only use downward strums, ONLY. no upward strums.
Those were cool days lol. In terms of the way they looked only of course lol. Idk I always liked Matt with short hair and Corey looked in amazing shape when Trivium did Roadrunner United. Honestly idgaf though because in terms of playing (which is what matters) they're at their peak...or are they? TRIVIUM FTW
wait whats the soong at the end?
whats the song at the end?
Whats intro song again?:P
coreys guitar is beautiful.
sweet
who is chris and what band/s was he in before megadeth?
I was given a razorback v white w/ black bevel (like matt's) and it has easily becoem my favorite guitar. I admit, I would have neverbought a Dean guitar because they are just not my style. But eventually, it does grow on you. Only problem I have with it is that it is uncomfortable to sit down and play it w/o a strap.
They got wierd song titles, but I love their style.
wuts the song after their done?
what is the name of this? torn between scylla and... i dont know
I think on their customs they use custom Dean pickups, on their flyin' v's, razorbacks, etc. they have diMarzio pickups and EMGs.
can some one plss tell me wich is the tunning in this song??
They use drop b on a 7 string I believe. It's the exact same as e standard on a 6 string except the the 7th string is tuned down to b.
you know, i miss the days when matt played his gibson. that was a cool guitar.
*ARE THE GODS!!!
Luckily Trivium confirmed that they will be playing Shogun live for the first time in the near future. Torn Between is rarity though. The bees are attacking!
holy crap, look at corey!!!
WELL FUCKING SAID!!!! THANK YOU:)
They said it in the guitarworld lesson.
isn't the dance techno riff that heafy was on about in the web episodes for shogun
Very true, I should have said "skilled".
Torn Between Scylla and Charybdis
what is the song at the beginning?
ulysse1989 down from the sky
this is that techno riff mmatt was on about in teh making of shogun lol
Just the new album bro =] thats why its fuckin awesome
are they using dime??? becaouse witht he album "ascendancy the singer used a gypson les paul and the other dde used a jackson
dean razorbacks i think its the dimebag tribute series as well but im not sure
Fucking awesome!!
A human capo is like a capo but with a human. So the human's finger will be acting as a capo. But a human capo can be changed from fret to fret.
i would go for the white/ black or the white and gold one that matt uses
@Nonchiie no your wrong they hant been endorsing dean since the summer of 2008. those guitars are fucking beast az!
down from the sky
hey, thanks. would you agree that it's stupid that they are pre-releasing all their songs?
Shogun about mythological gods.
the guy on the left looks like dream theater vocalist james labrie.
n slavrey was covered in their earlier stuff like on the EP and Ember
@assasininhell I know that nowdays they are both endorsing Dean guitars, both having a signature model.
Daxm this intro is fuckin sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
