Oh sis don’t worry about the burnt jollof. You’ll find that SOME Ghanaians even burn it a little on purpose as they say that it gives the rice a nice flavour.
Damn right . The burn part is the best
Never a fan of the burnt portion.
And day breaks over it😭😭😭😭😭we fight over it in this house

As a Ghanaian who's a big fan of Korean food, I've eaten all the dishes in the video, so I really enjoyed it 😁🇬🇭🇬🇭 And I like the added challenge of them having to make these themselves! Élise is an amazing cook 👏🏿👏🏿

im from ghana but i live in australia
I love how respectful both Elise and Joelle are!!!!
I love how every culture has a version of “use up your leftovers” dish, usually some kind of stew or soup. It’s great to see how different cultures were forced to get creative with their resources over history and make a dollar out of 15 cents
i agree!
But in some instances its a painful reminder of oppression in history. Considering that some korean dishes arose from /literal/ leftovers the japanese threw out when they invaded korea. Similar to how african american soul food also has roots in slavery.
@@mm-uz1gu while you're not wrong that it may conjure up reminders of oppression/colonialism etc etc the flipside is that it's also a reminder of resiliency and perseverance.
It's nice to see foreigners trying our traditional food and enjoying it!!! Ghanaian here!
I think the term fellow humans is more apt, no one is foreign they have just not met yet!
@@FaithsFallen what?
@@riyakuppam6233 what I said
@@FaithsFallen the definition of foreign is of, from, in, or characteristic of a country or language other than one's own it's literally the perfect fit.

Élise is hilariousss and Joelle WAS SO BRAVE IM SO SCARED OF FRYING STUFF GAHH
Omg! Elise has got great asian kitchen skills!!! Loving how she has the essential cookwares too
I've never had Ghanaian food but now I want it more than ever!
As a Ghanaian I encourage you to try it 😫 it’s so so good! I
I agree! its rlly good you should def try it!
You should definitely try it's sooo good 🙂
Ghanaian Jollof Rice is a must try 🔥
Yesss u should definitely eat waakye or some people know it as rice and peas
She served the soybean paste soup with rice like a true Ghanaian.
It looks like omutuo😆
Ei I’ve laughed saaahn 💀💀
As a Ghanaian I'm so so proud of Joelle, jollof is really not easy to make especially getting the texture right but she killed it! and it was her first try too!
y'all don't know how long I've been waiting for this!! 🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭
Same
Awwww I love that she made Ghanaian food but sis did her dirty cus all those dishes are pretty challenging to make lmaoo but she did a great job! Tip on the jollof you don’t cook it before adding it to the stew mixture hehe
My mom did me dirty like this when she taught me how to make jollof ONE TIME and then when she was out she told me to make it, I messed up so badddddd
Lol just imagine trying to make fufu alone sight unseen, even with neat fufu I wrecked my first attempt
Ah as a Ghanaian I’ve never clicked so fast on a video in my life 😫
I can relate 😂😂😂
same, it seems so interesting!
Omg same, im from Ghana too
@@verasante heyy wassup my fellow Ghanaian kings and queens
Right here witchu!
Elise is my favorite person, her personality is so bubbly and happy. Love it.
Èlise's kitchen is so gorgeous every time I've watched one of her videos I've just admired her house, like wow GOALS 😍
I must say as a Ghanaian, one requires good culinary skills to cook because it's not easy to cook our meals
But I love this🤩
Elise!!!! You’re a chef girl!!! I’m so impressed as a fellow korean, wow!! Great job!!
I love Elise's enthusiasm for food.
Élise's kitchen is soooo gorgeous!!!!! She should definitely give us a tour
If there are any African grocery stores or little African supermarkets in her area (where their main stuff is either Ghanaian or African food stuff), she could try looking there for the fufu flour. That's what I did when I lived in Florida - I don't think most general grocery stores have it
Amazon has it!
I loooooove Elise's energy. I imagine she's an amazing person and friend.
I wish that had linked the recipes in the description... those meals look so good and I'd love to try them
🇬🇭🇬🇭 I watched this with a smile 😊 . The concept is really amazing 👏🏿👏🏿🇰🇷
They're both too cute, love the enthusiasm
God Bless Our Homeland Ghana and make our nation great and strong🖤 🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭
I love the energy from both of them!! Food looks and sounds amazing!
a 11 minutes video uploaded 3 minutes ago already has dislikes 😂 people really are something
I'm convinced that there are people who come on TH-cam only to make awful and mean comments and give dislikes on videos that otherwise has no dislikes or negative comments.
Loved seeing all the dishes and thought it was awesome that they were each challenged to make the other culture’s cuisine!
Love how respectful they are with each others' culture
The culture swap I was waiting for, honestly this made my day 😻
Korean here 😉💛Thank you for trying our food 👍 we are not pretty eating Pajeon in breakfast BUT we love Pajeon in rainyday❤️
Anyway Thank you two pretty 💛💛💛
I loved both of them together and how open minded they were with eachothers cultures
Elise needs a cooking show plus I love watching her eat, she’s adorable 🥰
"This literally smells...... MHMMMMM" I've never realted to an expression more 😂😂 Thats me everytime I cook something new
I love that they are celebrating each other’s cultures! Keep making more of these videos!!!
You have no idea how long I've been waiting for this 🔥🔥🇬🇭🇬🇭🇬🇭
I'm a Ghanaian who loves Korean content (kpop, drama, variety) so I'm living
This was really beautiful and so were the entire vibe those two young ladies gave! 👍🏾
Elise is always so delightful... I'm so happy you tried making Korean food!
100% loving Élise's energy going in to meal 1. So excited to see this whole episode!!
Élise is such a good cook and I love her reactions
I am loving these! And both of them tried their best
While Joelle's recipe is not typical, standard, it still looks okay.
By the way the Ghanian girl reacted Korean food well with some nice gestures and facial expressions. So good
Love Korean food!!! haven’t had the opportunity to try any dishes from Ghana, will try to make the jollof rice. Nice video.
❤❤❤ My fiance is from togo (next to ghana) and I am self taught in korean and I am from America. I eat a lot of korean and Togolese food. I have had all these dishes multiple times. So nice to see these cultured interact. Kuddos to both of you guys because i have yet to make an of these dishes homemade. I use a rice cooker and my boyfriend cooks rice in a pot. 🤣🤣🤣
The bofrot looked so good
They both are so sweet and humble
Came here cuz I love and have an interest in Korean food. Left with a craving for Ghanaian food
I have tried all the food Elise made in the video and it's sooo good and anyone who is looking for something new to try I def recommend these.
🇬🇭🇬🇭 Idk if it was the recipe but I feel like the jollof could’ve been more red 😭😭, the Korean food looks tasty and nutritious though
I was thinking the same thing about the jollof rice 😭 maybe she didn’t use tomato paste or enough tomatos 🤷🏾♀️
I didn't mind the colour, I thought it was okay - she probably used fewer tomatoes than meat broth (as someone else mentioned). I was just worried that it tasted burnt... I find the burnt taste in rice just travels throughout the whole batch, but you're right the Korean food did look tasty and nutritious
I've heard so many good things about jollof rice that I'd love to try it. Not many West African restaurants in Dublin, Ireland though. Maybe I'm wrong and just have to search a little deeper because we do have a strong Nigerian community.
@@Nicolacurran1 If you can’t find any authentic restaurants to have jollof rice I would recommend just trying to make it yourself. There are plenty of recipes online for jollof rice, but many differ because different countries make jollof rice differently. I would suggest trying nigerian or ghanaian jollof rice.
@Nicola M I’m sure you could find one! In cities, there tends to always be at least 1 (West) African restaurant.
I am loving all of the cooking and food tasting videos!!!
This video makes me happy as half Ghanaian because i love Korean food
I'm Nigerian and I love Korean food so this was a fun watch. Burning jollof rice happens a lot
Yayyyy I'm from Ghana 🇬🇭 I also love Korea and kpop 💜💜
I love how you both appreciate each other's food
I love the energy here such a good fun video !
learning so much about cultures thanks to Joelle
She did amazing with the soup omg
Both of the ladies did an amazing job. Well done!
Elise appreciates food and I love it❤️
You 2 made me smile and I do not know why exactly, but anyways thanks!
Loved these two and the cuisines :’)
Élise needs her own show!
i love their energy
I love the cultural cuisine exchange I’m so here for learning about other people and other places. Great content guys
God bless ✨💕
when you're Ghanaian and truly trust the food Élise chose
This swap is so fun to watch!!! Please do more swaps with other cultures!😀
Awesome video 😂😂. Letting her make jollof as a first timer alone though... I saw that not going well😂. Y'all did a great job 👏👏
Love these two, and they nailed the dishes!
I'd love to see more from these two!!
yayyy elise you did such a good job! also lol f in the chat for not knowing how to make rice in a pot T.T
Such classy and lovely ladies! You don’t find that very often these days, so seeing how respectful they were of each other’s culture, how kind and funny (without cursing or perverted jokes) they were is very refreshing to watch. Love these gals!
I love their vibes!!
These two ladies are PERFECT.
The kitchen and dining room of the Ghanaian person is GORGEOUS
Elise is just amazing at cooking
I love this series
Ghanaian vibing right there. Love her.
This is such a cute concept
Lol , that jollof was A for effort at least she tried
This looks amazing
All my favourite Ghanaian meals in one video🇬🇭🇬🇭 though the jollof looked very light, I do hope it tasted very good. Now I'm hungry all over again😫😫. I hope to try Korean foods one day too
Elise’s house looks so nice
Both did fabulous and their anime tshirts were totally awesome!
Elise honestly nailed every dish. Mad props to her.
love to see people willing to try other ethnic dishes.
They both did great! I’m gonna try to make all of these 😊
REDEMPTION WHERE JOEL MAKES FUFU PLEASE
I do suggest eating doenjang jjigae(된장찌개)with a side of rice as it does have a very strong taste that not everyone are used to it
The first time my friend (who had never tried Korean food) tried dwenjang jjigae, he called it "crack soup" because he couldn't stop eating it lol
Your local Ghanaian/west African corner store will usually sell fufu mix!
My friend just brought me some of that Ghanaian rice the other day!!! It’s so good 🥺
Can we get links for the recipes please? These all look delicious!
Yeah i really want to try them. Lol i was looking all over for anyone to ask... recipes please🙏🙏🙏
How does this video only have 82 comments, like why is this video so underrated?
The foods look delicious 😋
Omg I love fried plantains. Haven't had them in a hot minute!
