      Interestingly enough, I hate that aspect 😭 I feel like it doesn’t allow an accurate representation of the dish bc if you’ve never even had the dish, you won’t even know how it’s supposed to taste ya know? Lol

      @@Brifearless5 it’s def not an accurate representation! But I think it gives perspective of the steps it takes to make it, and hopefully gives them more appreciation for the meal. I hope they both go out and try the authentic versions of the meals they made

      I do too. Though I will say we need to get back to that tight bond we used' to have- more like back in the 90s though. It's been a bit broken in recent times. We are the closest' on the "barometer" so it should be like glue.

      We need to ignore skin color. It immutable and divisive. Let’s just enjoy the culture and cuisine.

    • @enriqueenriquez7653
      @enriqueenriquez7653 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Black and brown people are the only people of color.. anyone not white is a person of color.. so you’re saying ignore us? When our skin tone makes us up? Ignoring skin color doesn’t fix racism. Ignoring skin color is ignoring us? Ignoring skin color is ignoring and turning a blind eye to the discrimination and injustice we as people of color face. What you would like is for us to hide right? To oppress our own selves? Tie our own hands behind our backs, revert back to when hating the color of our own skin was in? Look how long it has taken for some people to finally be able to love their skin color after being mistreated and psychologically abused for it. And you want to just dismiss it all? We will not belittle and diminish our selves for racists to feel more comfortable. We will not let our skin colors be thrown away for our history to become white washed. We are here. We will be seen and we will not be contained. No justice, no peace. How about we fix racism? How about we fix discrimination and gentrification? How about we end oppression? Racial profiling and racial targeting?

    A trick with the corn tortilla heat them in a little bit of oil, but don't fry it. If you are making a large batch of something you'll need someone to roll while you deal with the tortillas. You can also find the fresh corn tortillas made every day if you have a tortilleria near you and they tend to be much easier to work with.

    It seems to me that sherlly is not Mexican born in Mexico but Mexican American, I say it because the way it pronounces several words and because the breakfast burrito is not very common in Mexico, it is more in the United States, So we can say that it is actually a cultural exchange to the Chicano culture but it is also interesting too

    In Ghana, we call the Egusi or Melon seeds “Akatwa”. Normally in spinach stew, we add egg instead of the melon seeds but if you are a vegetarian or vegan, the melon seeds act as the egg.

    • @BeverlyyS
      @BeverlyyS 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      May I ask what tribe you are? Because I've never heard it called "akwata" and I am also Ghanaian. Also using egg is a preference. I think agushi is even more widely used than eggs. The eggs also shorten the lifespan of your kontomire stew

    • @nanaaraj
      @nanaaraj 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s Egusi stew or Palava Sauce. Akwata is a Twi word for Egusi. It’s either way said.

    • @daniellakoomson4464

Egusi stew is like 70 percent egusi. not everyone adds leaves to it, whereas Kontomire is 80 percent Kontomire, and depending on the person cooking, IF THEY FEEL LIKE IT, they'll add akatwa/agushi if they want.

    Wait the burrito looks great ..BUT a burrito is not authentic that’s more Tex-Mex (Mexican American if you will). But overall looks great 👍

      Mexico is a big place with many states. My mom says she's traveled all over Mexico and had their huevos rancheros and each area made it different.
      My mom is convinced that tamales need to have goat meat and my father convinced that tamale should have cow Head meat and they both say it's traditional and the proper way to make them. My mom also has 3 other ways to make tamales that isn't steamed and will make sweet tamales for an sweet treat.
      My dad also grew up eating fish every day for breakfast and a tall glass of coffee made with scolded milk instant coffee chocolate and cinnamon frothed.
