Best reviewer on TH-cam! I like that not only you do an awesome job on reviewing the bike but you also review the pillion seat! Which a lot of reviewers skimp out on especially for touring bikes because I love to take my wife out on rides. Awesome review ride safe!
Totally agree to your comment about the passenger seat. It’s very rare that it is reviewed. I have ordered mine without the possibility to try it out but now I’m more confident in my decision 😀

This. I'm thinking about getting one, and I already know I'm going to be hard pressed to find a dealer carrying it.
Dealers have nothing in stock with the mt-07 even being tough to find!
@@TimeLemur6 Maybe it's just my location? Auburn WA USA. They have 3 or 4 more at such a sweet deal. It's 2020 though and lacks a couple features the Tracer has in 2021. Still such a sweet cost on them. Bought one a few weeks ago and can't say enough about it. Best Bike I've ever owned and I been through quite a few bikes....
@@ChaserTiponi Ah, that's probably it. I'm specifically looking at the 2021, and I'm on the east side of the state (though not set against flying over to ride/get one).
@@TimeLemur6 Ya these are the 2020 and I don't blame you for wanting the 2021 GT 9. Just saying if you did get interested it's called NASH POWERSPORTS in Auburn Washington. They were working hard to move that inventory about 3 weeks ago. But if you do get serious IDK shit. Get in touch with NASH. If that helps GREAT!
Sehr gut Juliane! YT algorithm is on today! The Tracer line is sporty, adaptable, clever, and easy to look at. You’re also a capable rider - like riding a horse in a polo match - very good posture and form! Später muss ich noch ein paar Videos auf Deutsch gucken! Subscribed! 🏁✊🏼
Hoping screen size of dash is not disappointing. This T9 GT bike has it ALL. PLEASE, do a full review of the 2022/21 Indian FTRS. Your strong professional reviews are greatly appreciated. It is our pleasure to watch them.

I was debating between the tracer 9gt and the mt09 sp. you’ve sold me on the gt!
+ on "Finally an actual ride review in English!" And what a great review it is. But....Yamah, are you listening...how about a Tracer 7 GT, with all the rider aids of the 9 GT AND offer it for sale in North America? Not everyone needs a bike as big as the 9 GT, a smaller, nimbler, lighter, less expensive, cheaper to insure alternative whilst retaining the IMU, cruise control, semi active suspension etc etc would make the SV650 & Versys 650 look very outdated.
Tracer 7 still doesn't even have traction control. Its a no from me.
Placed my order and paid my deposit on the GT in that colour hopefully being delivered here in Wales May 10th 😃

Lol, if you want to use your youtube-name correctly you have to write: "Dave auf der BMW". When you write "Dave auf dem BMW" it sounds very funny, because than you are sitting on the roof of a BMW-car... Juliane has spent a lot of time in america to get working expirience. For a german citizen her english is in my opinion nearly perfect (I'm german too).
@@jochenbuhler4547 From an American's perspective her english is indeed excellent. The way she delivers her words are interesting, though. The german accent is there but toned down. It sounds attractive. What really stands out is how she pronounces every single word completely separately, almost leaving spaces between the words. It subtly reinforces the impression of Germans being a very precise people. A native english speaker would flow the words together like a stream. A lot of people I know here in the US don't even finish one word before they've already moved on to the next word. I once planned to teach english in Germany, but Florida seduced me instead.
Good review, you are a good sport to sit on the pillion with guys in control.

Great review as always. I like what Yamaha did to the front end it looks more mature. Adjustable seat, handlebars and pegs should be standard on all bikes...

You mentioned the Tracers is for Pavment only .. I agree with you 100% I am riding a Yamaha FZ-07 MT-07 to you .. side cases Top Case luggage rack .. Tank Bag. Triumph Tiger 1200 Windscreen.. with a 17" front wheel and 24 degrees fork rake .. It makes my plams sweaty on a Gravel Road.. It's great they can make the seat lower now .. I have short legs.. I would love to have power of the 09 Triple but may have to go with the Tenere T-700 for good off road or dirt road fire road capabilities..
I found your Channel when the Pan American Review popped up .. I have not yet seen a Review of the Pan American in the USA... Waited 3 years for the T-700 in the USA.. then thanks to Covid Dealers didn't have any to sell in 2020 anyway ..
I use my Motorcycle for Transporation in rthe Summer I rarley ever take the Luggage off ..

Tolle Vorstellung der Tracer. Ich fahre selber die Tracer 900GT die keinerlei Probleme macht und eine zuverlässige Maschine ist. Einen Umstieg auf das neuere Modell werde ich nicht machen, denn ein altes Sprichwirt sagt: Never change a running system ! Danke Juliane für deinen tollen Bericht!😎😎😎😎😎

I don't know if I shall thank you for this exquisite review or not. Because it just cost me 155000 SEK :) Trading in my MT-09 -15 and the GT will arrive in end of june, the only one my dealer receives. But anyway thanks Juliane!
I own a 2015 FJ09 and love it. The GT would probably be my next move but I am still smitten with my current ride. :) Great review!!!!!!

Love the whole bike but hate that main light. It looks as if one of your fog lights had a light bulb blown 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ The weirdest solution ever

I'm picking up a red 9gt next week, so I thought I'd view this again. That thumbwheel mash and miss issue might just motivate me enough to install/wire in a separate switch for the final select. Always great to watch your reviews and my gosh, your smiling face! 👌

Great review. The Tracer 9 GT is on my short list for my next purchase this Spring. I bought a 1982 Yamaha Virago 750 new in 1982 and compared to other brands I have owned, it gave me the most problems. But it looks like Yamaha has better quality and reliability 40 years later. I am going to look at a new 9 GT next week, but no test rides because we have snow and freezing temperatures here in Wyoming. Looking forward to a test ride in March when the snow is gone. 😎
Not a big fan of the tinny headlight but the rest of the bike is great. Be good to ride one when the dealer gets them in.

Only upgrade to mine was a new tail light in LED that flashes when 1st activated. Otherwise 100% stock and perfect.

I love everything about the Tracer 9 GT behind the "nose". I think the headlight and running lights took a step backwards. Last year's Tracer 900 GT looks sooo much better. I'm also not a fan of the split screen in its current capability. If the right side screen had a navigation mode/display, I would embrace it with limitless joy. But for now, it seems hideous with no real reason to be so. Again, last year's TFT (from the R1) does everything of the new one, while looking better and being smaller and lighter than the two screen setup. My 2¢.
Finally a review in English! Very well done video, I have to be honest. That green bike looks soo good. I have one question about the semi active suspension. You mentioned some sort of adjustment, but what about the rear end preload? Most of the bikes with semi active suspension either you can adjust the rear end preload depending on the luggage, pillion or both, or the bike does it automatically. How it is done on this bike?
Thanks very much! :) I love the green one too! To your question: it adjusts the damping electronically, not the preload though. There’s a hand wheel in the rear where you can easily adjust the preload of the spring and in the front you can do it on the top of the fork rods.
Some bikes have both electronically but that are usually bikes in the premium segment and cost quite a lot more.

@@ridenroll.juliane Oh I see, thanks for the answer :). My FZ6S Fazer is going to stay in a stable for a while, so I don't plan to buy this gen of the Tracer. Maybe Yamaha eventually get their sh*t together and puts the MT10 engine into a Tracer (which they said years ago they won't do), or make a new Fazer 1000 against the Ninja 1000 SX :)

Fun bike, really wakes up as you get above 5000 rpm, and still breaking it in and being conservative with the throttle. Yes, the grip heat works very well, I had it set on 5 one cool morning, and it was hot; I can't even imagine level ten. Definitely take it easy when carrying a passenger their life is in your hands; I cringe when I see folks not caring about their loved ones on the back.
Just what I want but I will not consider it at all. This is because of the one headlight look. It is the result of cost cutting and that is a shame!

i read in the comments,"That heated grip control would be super annoying. I want simplicity." just scrol to the heated grips on the dash,push 3 seconds and always is the scrol button for the heated grips only..super easy...it stay this way until you push again for 3 seconds...The dash is excellent imo,mucht better then my previous dash africa twin 1100..
Juliane, what is the wind noise like around a helmet from those fairings? I've tried the 1st-gen Tracer 900 and the wind noise was extremely turbulent and noisy. I suppose it depends on how tall a rider's torso is, but previously the roar of the wind between clean air and totally behind the screen was terrible, even at merely 35 mph (57 kph). I really hope they smoothed out air flow on this model. I'm in the USA, waiting for stock this year.

It's great that Yamaha offers test rides, there's no chance of that here in Malaysia. See but no touch (i mean no test ride) and you're only able to take it for a spin once a deposit is secured. Like WTH ya know...Hong Leong Yamaha, if you are reading this, please take note. I for one wouldn't just drop almost RM60k for a machine that I cant test out. KTM's, Triumph's, Ducati's & Motorrad offer test rides.

I am new to riding and I'm from the Caribbean where there is alot of curvy roads is this bike good for my first bike?essentially if I wanna get better at riding?

Sold my Tracer 900 GT due to wind noise. I hope this new bike is quieter. This isn’t buffeting mind you but the massive amount of noise that comes from the front of the bike. I know not everyone noticed this problem but I’ll need to find a way to demo a bike to see if it is present or not.
