Can I give you a bit of a hint when using a vacuum cleaner? Move slower! The faster you go, the less you will pick up! (Based on working for a cleaning service!!)
Not just for fur! Really good for people with long hair and long beards. My vacuum cleaner doesn't do a thing, but this sort of rubber broom gets my carpets as clean as new! Particularly effective for "trodden-in" hair. Use short strokes, pulling the broom towards yourself. A+. 10 out of 10. At only $10, definitely worth a try.
I have a similar product. The key to using it is use the bristle end to pull up the fur from the carpet, & the squeegee end to pull it into a pile. It works great for my Border Collie's hair
I have the FlyLady’s purple version of this and it has been a game changer. I don’t know if the brooms are made of slightly different materials or what, but I love mine. It saves my vacuum from pet hair. I have a Bernese Mountain Dog mix and he sheds hair like crazy. He also has fur in black, white, and brown so it shows on everything. I brush carpets and hard floor surfaces with my broom and it’s great. Worst part is removing hair from broom to throw away. It also picks up dog food from around my dog’s bowl. I do have to use a hand held version to get the fur that collects between the carpet and the base boards. The hand version comes to a narrow point that fits better in the grove. Vacuums aren’t effective in that carpet grove. The hand held version is also the best tool I have for getting fur off of furniture and car seats. You can also use these brooms for spot cleaning carpets. When you have to scrub your carpet to clean up a pet mess or a liquid spill, it’s better to scrub with this broom than to get down on your knees.
I personal love these rubber brooms. I find they work best on hard floor to not kick up all the fur or dust while sweeping. I also use mine to bunch up and remove all the annoying clumps of cat fur that stick to my couch, much easier than picking them off with your fingers. It does require some elbow grease for carpet surfaces thought. Really I find it's main benefit is it DOES NOT kick up pet hair or dust while sweeping hard surfaces. Great for people in apartments with pets.
I went to ace hardware and got a good old fashioned scrub brush and a broom handle. Works great. I have a long haired cat and I use the brush before I vacuum. Makes things so much easier. I never realized how much fur was still in the carpet. The brush is good for spot cleaning too.
I watch these reviews for the same reason I watch Shark Tank. I just want to know if there's something interesting out there that has practical use, but isn't that popular. But I don't have any pets either 😉. So far James' review of Granitestone pans made me a believer. After one year, the coating is intact, but it's cheap so the pan did warp slightly... I'll get a new one.😁
We bought a broom just like that many years ago and we still have it but it was never advertised for pet hair back then. In fact, it was for cleaning hard floors. Maybe that's why you liked it best on your tiles. I bet someone wanted to re-market that style of broom after trying it with pet hair and thought that it worked somewhat.
Scorpion hunting is a time honored tradition in the southwest. All you need is a portable blacklight, a bug smashing tool and maybe a flathead screwdriver to get into tight spaces. It also needs to be nighttime. Scorpions glow under a blacklight making them very easy to find at night. Just walk around outside and these things will be everywhere. Then...smash away. 🦂
We bought a couple of these brooms complete with the squeegee, years ago at a home show. Back then, they were being sold for use as a regular broom, and work well as such.
If you use the broom like a push broom, it works better than pulling it toward you. I have a silicone broom for my extra long human hair to prevent my vacuum from burning up and it does pick up well. It's also a great scrub brush for tile and less textured concrete.
Ha! I just realized you and I have the same sunglasses! Aside from that I have cats, and 40 year old battered carpets. My powerful vacuum does well, but I don't like hauling it up and down stairs. I found that a good stick vac to get the loose stuff, and an old fashioned rug rake with metal teeth for the fur and fluff that gets worked deeply into the pile does a great job.
Anyone with a shedding dog or cat needs a good pet hair vacuum period! Something like this might be useful for traveling, but otherwise use the vacuum! Also the metal bristled brush might work very well, but repetitive use will destroy carpet fibers and fabrics. Love your videos and the REAL star, Bailey!
can you recommend the best carpet pet hair vacuum? i dont (actually) care for the cost , i just had enough struggling to clean carpets since i got my dogs
I have the furremover, and it works well on carpet- mainly if the hair is kind of worked into the carpet a bit (which might be part of the issue you had: if the hair is already free of the carpet fibers, the stickiness of the rubber isn't as useful). I use it before vacuuming to keep long pet (& people) hair from building up as much on my vacuum brushroll.
I own a great pyrenees, which have very long, thick double coats. I bought the fur remover bc his fur has taken out 2.5 vacuums in 4 years. It is time consuming and physically tiring, but it has done wonders for the life of my vacuum (and trust me, I am very diligent in my vacuum care and was doing hand gathering of fur clumps anyway - this gets the fur thats just...*sitting there* on the top of the carpet). Side note, mine came with a squeegee side that helped with spills, and it easily sweeps up fur on hard floors. So definitely a product for certain breeds and people, and the people who need it will recognize that immediately.
I've had the furbroom for over 3 years now. It's worked wonders for my apt and the hair ground into the carpet. Way better than a vacuum. But I like the squeegee side better.
I had one of those brooms some years ago - different brand. At the time it was hailed as a wet and dry broom that could pick up pet hair. I found it didn't work on carpets so used it on the hard floor in my kitchen. It didn't last long and the brush head split where the handle goes into it. It was a waste of money.
I have a similar product (Evriholder) which could well be from the same company. Like you, I didn't have great success on carpet but did found it did find it worked very well on vinyl and concrete. I also found with very short "choppy" strokes it worked well for cleaning the floor mat in front of our back door & in front of the sink. Both of those are on hard surfaces. Keep up the good work. Enjoy the channel.
Have you reviewed the "infinitiroller" paint roller? I've been seeing it on my instafeed and was wondering if it's actually as good as it looks. I have a lot of painting to do (whole house) and this would make it easier with pets around.
Years ago my parents bought one that was called the Euroshine Dutch Rubber Broom. No pets in the house, basically just to sweep on carpet. Didn't get much use for that, but I can say, those things work great for cleaning snow off of your car.
Using a grooming brush is probably the best way to get it done. Tried using squeegees, vacuum cleaners, bristle brushes etc but by far using a grooming brush is the best way to get the job done, they’re not very big but just a few strokes gets up like 5x as much as any of these tools can do.
I've used something similar to the furewell on old carpet. I had to apply a lot of pressure to pull fur after vacuuming. It worked best going against the 'grain'. Also, fyi scorpions can and will nest on/in palm trees, so check around and on those too.
I have a FurRemover, and it works exactly the same way. A carpet rake or a stick vac without rollers is better for getting hair up before heavy vacuuming.
10-15 years ago it was called the "One Sweep" a silicone broom that was an ASOTV product as well. That version was all black. It was actually not a bad product, but didn't fare well on cement, brick and other outside hard surfaces. The other thing about the "One Sweep" was that you actually used lighter force on it. No need to press into the mess very hard.
I especially appreciated this one since I have several long haired pets and I'm always on the lookout for anything that will make clean up easier. I have seen long handled rollers and I think that would probably work the best on carpets
Here in the Netherlands we use this kind of brooms in hairsalons for sweeping the hair out of out way and clean up , like you say works perfect on tiles but on carpets its awful ! Love to hear more on the scorpion hunt 😱 thanks for your video’s ! ❤️
I have one of those brooms & I find mine works a treat on tiled floors. Sweeps up the dirt, dog hair really well & my house is 90% tile. But my dog isn't really that long-haired like Bailey though & I just use my Shark vacuum cleaner on the carpet areas.
they work great ive had a version of that for years (i have 3, 1 for outside, 2 inside, one for upstairs and one down) also i don't use it for pet hair i use it for human hair that has fallen off and trodden into the carpets (my mum is sadly losing her hair as almost everyone of her 14 meds has hair loss as a side effect) she has hair that's down her back and using the vacuum on the carpets without brushing first means i have to dismantle the vacuum so i can cut the hair off the roller thats just blocked the intake. one thing i will say is it helps to go with the grain of your carpet just like how you were brushing your dog, go the wrong way and you will make it harder on yourself and likely push the hair into the fibers. hardwood flooring was what it was first made for as the rubber bristles dont scratch the wood.
I have to tell you about this broom, I bought one years ago when we first got our fake grass and living in Las Vegas as you do a lot of us have it. It cleans up dog hair off of fake grass like nothing else does, it’s a lot of work with it but it’s awesome! That dog brush will ruin your carpet eventually, been there done that.
I just got a roller similar to the one you used. It works amazing on cat hair! I used it on my couch and on my roman shades (my cat is always pushing them aside to get in the window) to get the hair off of them.
I have a version of the Fur Remover but just handheld. It's THE BEST along with the pumice stone hair remover to get pet hair out of your car. Sweeps into a little pile to be vacuumed, and your seats look like brand new.
I bought a similar product from Amazon. My cat would have hair everywhere. I bought the product because my sweeper was not picking up the hair. I then looked at my sweeper and it was clogged with cat hair, cleaned it out then it worked fine. The squeegee part has worked good on hard floors for me.
The Chom Chom knock off (the white one) is amazing and inexpensive. I recommend them to everyone with hairy pets. The only thing they don’t seem to work well on is clothing. Important to make the click-clack sound as you use it, initially I wasn’t and thought the unit was pretty average till I changed my technique. They make a long handle version that isn’t as good but I’m led to believe that there is new design about to hit the market that should address the design flaws. Very interested in your vacuum though. Was very impressive at picking up the dog hair in one pass. I have 2 older (about 10 year) Dyson models that both really struggle and require constant follow ups. Have you seen some of the new Shark models with their pet hair rollers? They aren’t available in a Australia and I’m considering import one with a step down transformer.
Rubber brooms have been around for over twenty years. But as you found out, they work better on solid surfaces. The reason some people like them for animal hair is this type of broom doesn't cause refuse to fly up into the air, in other words - no dust clouds while sweeping, and thus better for people with animal allergies with dander and hair. Though the better option is the vacuum as you demonstrated. The broom is great in the woodshop though as it can move large amounts of woodchips from around the machines. The squeegee is also great for in the kitchen for help with spills. Or if you ever have a leak in the cellar and need to push the water towards a floor drain.
FlyLady sells a purple version of this called the Rubba Sweepa, which is advertised as their "Rubba Scrubba" hand tool but with a long handle to be used for sweeping (needing little force to operate), scrubbing things that your mop isn't getting up on hard floors, and, like here, getting pet hair out of carpets that your vacuum misses. You can buy the head and handle separately and use multiple heads with the same handle, which for someone who buys a lot of FlyLady cleaning products is nice I suppose. We use ours (when we can find it) as a normal broom on our hard floors, for which it works well, the squeegee part on it flares out at the ends so you can use it to reach into corners that the bristles would struggle with. We don't really get the carpet pet hair claim either; it's not great for that, at least with our carpets.
I use the glove type brush in our cat and use that to clean up any tough fur in tight corners of his cat condo and etc.. it would work for carpets and furniture. You just either vacuum it or throw it away.
I got the Furemover on Amazon a long time ago before I even got a dog because my boyfriend and I have long hair and it was killing our vacuum. I use it on the carpet and it has significantly helped.
I have that broom and I live it. I have 8 year old kid,cat and dog. I think its fantastic. I dont use on carpet but floor and its clean perfer everything. Not just animals hair but glitter as well. And my and my daughter hair too
Brooms exactly like that are not new. I have one that is at least 30 years old. I find it is best used outside, getting small amounts (1 inch or so) of snow off the cement porch / stairs / sidewalks before it freezes. Of course this won't help you in Vegas, but here in Chicago it's a godsend. Love your videos, and take care!
I use a damp sponge to remove cat hair from my carpet. I vacuum first then get down on my knees and use the sponge with a fair bit of elbow grease. It’s amazing how much more it picks up than the vac. I wish I could buy a vacuum as effective - my knees aren’t going to last as long as my cat, I fear.
I’m always looking for pet hair removal tools. Thanks for letting me know what not to waste my money on. The other roller on the market is the Chom Chom, odd name I know. It works okay. However, it is difficult to use in the tight spaces of my faux suede sofa which was touted as pet hair repellent, it is anything but. I have 4 pugs, hair is constantly everywhere.
I'm curious if long vs. short hair pets makes a difference when it comes to using it on carpet, or even if long vs. short carpet itself. For instance I have extremely short fiber carpet in my room, but the living room has more of a plush-style long and comfy fiber carpet. Great review as always, thanks again and stay safe!
Those ads always show pet hair on the carpet or furniture just like that, with it all sitting on top. It's pretty easy to get that kind of pet hair off stuff in general. Let that hair build up for weeks THEN try to get it off the La Z Boy recliner made of velcro like fabric with those things. My guess is it will work just as well then too.
That Furwell broom is a knock-off or rebranded Sweepa broom. I don't know about pet hairs, but the tightly aligned rubber bristles gather even the smallest particles of dust and it works better than a regular broom with bristles. Just run it under some water for easy cleaning.
I have a friend who has this furwell broom thing and they use it for dust and dirt on their house tiles and wood floor. Works better for that then for pet hair.
that little hand held did pretty good but slowed down when it started getting saturated with hair, would be faster to just pick off the big clumps with your hand and use the little one to get the fine stuff after. a bristle broom probably would have done just as good job on hard floors. i'd say save your money on this.
So, brooms like that, are for getting the embedded hairs out of carpet and soft surfaces. I would have ground it into the carpet first. Or at least vacuumed up the chunks first. It didn't seem like a fair test to be brushing out the Bailey first, leaving all the undercoat fluff everywhere and then trying to scrap that up. Also, the brush you're using is an undercoat rake. That only pulls out the loose undercoat. I know this wasn't a review on how you groom your dog, but make sure you also use a slicker brush on her outer coat and feathering along with a comb to make sure you have all the tangles out! :D
I bought a rubber broom head that looks almost exactly like the Furwell about 30 years ago at a home/garden show. It definitely works better on hard surfaces than carpet. The roller looks like the same materiel as the magik lint brushes advertised on TV in the 70's
My sister was using this rubber broom years ago, when she was working at barber shop, and this was a very decent broom, although, she was using it on tiles, not on the carpet.
i have a small hand sized brush like this for pet hair, i use it for detailing cars and it works very well. the type of carpet might have something to do with how well it works.
Thank you, thank you, thank you 🙏🏼 you have just saved me quite a bit of money, specially at this moment when I can’t spend money just like that. Thank you sooo much! ♥️
I've had this kind of broom before and it's not a time saver but if you want to really get everything out it's okay. I used it mostly outside in the garage lol
I can see the usefulness for carpet when you have a bag vacuum. I know using that actual pet brush might fuck up the carpet since it was catching on the couch. I love those red velvet lint brush things, even dollar store ones work pretty well.
It's also kind of funny that by the time you're done brushing out a golden retriever, you have enough fur to create another golden retriever.
Freakin' Bailey and her cuteness
Can I give you a bit of a hint when using a vacuum cleaner? Move slower! The faster you go, the less you will pick up! (Based on working for a cleaning service!!)
Thanks
Wow that's crazy I didn't know that
Not just for fur!
That's my breed of dog and is exactly why I'm here lol
1:45 looks at the love in her eyes, as she gets brushed.

They should scale-up the roller and sell that instead. Seems like a no-brainer to me.🤷

I just got one similar to this and I honest can say I wish I'd got one years ago they are brilliant
I feel like the pet brush is damaging the carpet more though... it just sounds like it's tearing the fibers.
your fibers are damaged
@R thanks

I have the furremover for my own hair. I shed ALOT and it keeps me from having to clean the brush of my vaccum so often. Works well enough.
Bailey is such a good girl! 🐶 She sat so still while you brushed her even with the hair all over her face. 🤣
It actually works very well. You just have to use the correct short strokes and essentially “roll” the hair up. :)
I have a similar product (Evriholder) which could well be from the same company. Like you, I didn't have great success on carpet but did found it did find it worked very well on vinyl and concrete. Bailey is the best co-host anyone could ask for, awwwww
Furwell broom is a standard flat surface cleaner, rebranded with "fur" on it, in the uk i picked one up for £2
Have you reviewed the "infinitiroller" paint roller? I've been seeing it on my instafeed and was wondering if it's actually as good as it looks. I have a lot of painting to do (whole house) and this would make it easier with pets around.

Me too, this was hilarious! 😂

I have a FurRemover, and it works exactly the same way. A carpet rake or a stick vac without rollers is better for getting hair up before heavy vacuuming.

Life Hack: if u have pet hair in ur car on ur seats u can use a squeegee to remove the hair
We bought the previously reviewed Hair Wizard after seeing the review for it. Works very well!
@@ktasay i have a cheap clone its awesome
I was going to buy one as a gift. So glad I watched your review, first!
Maybe Furwell should make a wide angle roller for the carpet.
Thanks for keeping up the videos through these times.

Best reviews! Love Freakin reviews!
It’s not for hair on the surface. It’s for hair that gets imbedded in the carpet. It’s a deep cleaning tool. I’ve used one for years.
I really want to see you test a high velocity blower. It gets shedding out better than just a brush
Rubber brooms are the best for pet hair, I have one as I rescue guinea pigs. With all the piggies running around it a really useful tool too have.
vaw power HOLY MOLY
Wow, you hear about other pets needing rescue , but guinea pigs not so often. Thanks for helping out the little critters!
Nothing like a golden retriever to gather pet hair. My mother had one and she used to go on and on about how much they love being brushed.
Thank you for sacrificing your carpet with pet hair and dander to make honest content
Always Enjoy Watching Your Vids In Quarantine! Miss ya guys James ! Great videos!💯
I use the glove type brush in our cat and use that to clean up any tough fur in tight corners of his cat condo and etc.. it would work for carpets and furniture. You just either vacuum it or throw it away.
My teen just sent me the link for this. We don't have any shedding pets, they're just tired of finding MY hairs everywhere. 🤣
I dunno why I am watching this. But I am amazed that you have the first vacuum I have seen with headlights.
They gave you the bonus brush because they know their broom sucks... 🤣
I got the Superior Rubber Broom & Squeegee. It is good where the vacuum doesn’t reaches. Like underneath end tables and coffee table
My faux suede slipcovers are a pain to get hair off! I've used a squeegee, pet hair remover tool, sticky roller and rubber gloves. Nothing works well!
Can you find any products that can clean baseboards?
Great review I love it
That Furwell broom is a knock-off or rebranded Sweepa broom.
Works better for that then for pet hair.
that little hand held did pretty good but slowed down when it started getting saturated with hair, would be faster to just pick off the big clumps with your
hand and use the little one to get the fine stuff after. a bristle broom probably would have done just as good job on hard floors. i'd say save your money on this.
Those black socks you're wearing would work much better, if you ask me. Just moon walk a few times across the room and give it the ol' college try!!
Hey James. That thing sucks lol. The roller was great tho. How do you clean the roller??
Did you see the button in the back? I think it has a paw print on it. Open there, remove the fur. They work so well I use them all the time.
Since it's sticky you can just rinse it when you open it.
We had one of those Brooms 15 or 20 years ago maybe the copy of a copy of a copy. And I'm from Germany
You make the best review videos always looking forward to them
I've used sneakers to do the exact same thing as this broom.
i have a small hand sized brush like this for pet hair, i use it for detailing cars and it works very well. the type of carpet might have something to do with how well it works.
I have one like this and would highly recommend for laminate and corners I love mine
Really nice that the broom works on hard floors... Hang on, anything works on those, even a normal broom! Gimme that roller tho.
U need to sweep **WITH** the grain of the carpet, not against it!
Also helps to spray a very, very light mist of water on the carpet b4 sweeping.
Mate, love your videos and thanks for putting in the extra hours through covid-19. All the way from Australia, your mate Jay 👍 keep it up.
This is why I have hardwood floors and hardy any furniture (my house is like a zoo). LOL. Great review! Everyone please stay safe.
