    nice video, I had a small 3 wheeler Motor that was seized up like yours and I took the motor apart like you but I got to the point like you are in, but i could not get it apart. I try'd all the tricks and than my neighbor said boil it, So I found a large pan put the motor in and boiled it for like 30 minutes. took it out and everything came apart easy peaszy and it was extremely clean.fix the motor and it ran for years after that.

      I have heard wonderful things about boiling seized engines also.. Just melts the rust..

      That's a really good idea, wish I knew about it 2 days ago. I've since used some "alternate" methods of unsticking things :)

    You don't hear that everyday. "lucky for me the engine is seized"

    Best way of unseizing motors is soak it in diesel overnight. Love your videos, keep them up.

    Gotta try boiling these things in soapy water. Loosens and cleans at the same time. I haven't needed anything more than dawn soap to clean anything so far.

    What did you use to get the engine off? An impact wrench? I'm having trouble loosening the bolts and nuts holding the engine in place.

    • @quewaite372
      @quewaite372 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You need an old school impact driver that you hit with a hammer

    Hi there!
    can we change contact ignition system to electronic ignition system type??

  • @mattamiller

    Man the head on your motor came off way too easy! That's where I'm currently stuck with my project. Three of the studs wiggle nice and easy but one is stuck and will not allow the head to slide off. Do you have any words of wisdom for me? This is my first motorcycle thanks to your video series. Mines a 1970 and not as neglected, I don't think you ever mentioned what year yours is? Do you know the reason Honda put three regular nuts on the head and one acorn nut?

    • @mondude9754
      @mondude9754 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey uh I'm kinda 7 years late and a random guy but the acorn nut is because Honda used one of the passages that the head studs go through to pump oil to the head from the bottom of the block. The acorn nut should be in combination with a copper washer under it. With the two combined, oil can't leak out so that there can be oil pressure behind and it won't leak. The others can be regular cause they don't have to hold oil.

    Does the camshaft has ball bearings? Because the the cheap 125 copies have two of them in the head. I hope you dont have to order many parts. The ignition system doesnt look completely as well
    Nice vid as always!

    • @jenniesgarage
      @jenniesgarage  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, glad you liked the video. The camshaft isn't on roller bearings, it just rides in the head. I'll be really lucky if it runs without ordering parts, but we'll see :)

  • @tylerlassa9628
    @tylerlassa9628 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    You could've removed the rocker arm pin and rocker arm completely! That would've made it easier so you wouldn't of had to free the intake valve with the head on.

    good video . i seen my dad do the same to a model T motor .with wd40 and just wiggle it a little every 3 or 4 days and after a couple of weeks he had it running .

    • @jenniesgarage
      @jenniesgarage  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's probably the best method. I got impatient though, and had to use a little more force. Hopefully shell be ok though.

    Normalise your audio, place a compressor on the audio channel and set to "speech" and raise the gain just below the clipping.

    When you were looking at the valves on the inside and picking at the rust and crap it sounded so painful with decent headphones and the volume fairly high. Made me cringe haha

    u have no clue what u are doing from what ive seen. u never put pressure on a screw like that that points case needs a little tap and it will drop free.the cam will come out easy by releasing the valve tensioners.
