It disgusts me how some police decide which people are worthy enough of justice. You should be doing your job. Don't become a police officer or detective unless you have a heart. That you want to help everyone. Of course that won't ever happen... All we can do is spend awareness and ask true hearted, caring people to join the department and be the change we desperately need.

    • @mikaylaveilleux8019
      @mikaylaveilleux8019 2 ปีที่แล้ว +19

Unfortunately, some people who become police officers don't do it because they want to actually protect and serve. They join because they want power and control. I'm glad the KCK PD is being thoroughly investigated by the FBI, and it definitely isn't the only department that should be investigated. (And before anyone 'nOt aLL coPs' me - I know. It doesn't matter. One "bad apple" is one too many)

I've worked in law enforcement for over 30 years now and sadly we are at a point where very few want to do this job. I can't blame them as I know there is no way I would go into LE if I were doing it today. So what is happening is the lowest are getting hired because that is all there is to choose from. People who want to defund and cannot ever find a kind word for those who do this job to the highest standards are who you can thank. The job has completely changed over the years and I'm thankful I work in federal LE now as I would not want to be a street officer today.

Yes, thank you! People with addiction and/or mental health issues are still people and deserve the same coverage and search efforts of those who do not. We need to stop the stigma. The same is said for POC who are also far less likely to get the coverage white people do. Creators that cover these cases are helping change the public perception of these factors.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for doing this video Danelle! I and the family can't thank you enough! Justin's case along with the corruption in KCKPD needs all the attention it can get because unfortunately Justin, his case, and his family, are far from being the only ones being treated / investigated like this. So again THANK YOU!
There are some things that I did want to clear up though :
    1. Justin's dad did receive a phone call from Justin that morning while Justin's dad was on the lake already fishing, so the service was pretty spotty. Justin did ask his dad for a ride but DIDNT tell him exactly where he was, nor did Justin seem like it was a life or death kind of situation that he was in.
    2. His aunt and cousin also got phone calls from Justin but they WEREN'T FRANTIC nor did he seem distressed, he was more annoyed than anything, and he was just asking for a ride which both his aunt and cousin were busy at the time that he called but were making arraignments to get to him as quickly as they could. I also want to make it clear that Justin has made these types of phone calls looking for a ride or someone to pick him up in the past so it wasn't something that was out of the ordinary for him.
    3. They did not find his car until TWO DAYS after Justin had called them and since there were "no shell casings and no blood" there was nothing for the PD to do, according to the officer.
    4. There wasn't a lot in Justin's car for them to take but yes they did take whatever fishing stuff was in there along with his phone and bank card, but never took any money from his bank accounts. It's unclear if they attempted to or not though.
    5. Police that showed up initially basically went over all of the things the PD couldn't do for the family instead of being helpful and trying to calm any worries the family had. And you're correct that the police didn't do any kind of interviews or any basic initial things you'd think would be done. I also know the family really beats themselves up that they didn't take it upon themselves to do those things.
    6. The phone sting was shut down by the sargent, according to Scott there was a perimeter set up, along with multiple officers ready to go, and minutes before she was supposed to show up the head sargent called the detective and said "shut it down" which pissed the detective off but of course had to comply so they didn't go through with it. To me, it seems like the officers that were on the scene were oblivious to whatever "corruption" was going on in relation to her. They were all for doing this sting and weren't the ones wanting to shut things down.
    7. The stolen Uhaul incident with that particular person happened in Oct. not July. I still need to look into if maybe some of their other associates might have been involved with the one in July though.
During the thousands of hours I have spent looking into Justin's case along with similar ones in the area, I've also noticed how little to no coverage these cases have gotten. For example, I've been told about multiple different crimes these people have been involved with and when I try to look them up one by one there are just no news articles out about that particular incident but there will maybe be an arrest corroborating what I was told... So why isn't the news reporting on certain things? And I have also been told by people there that the media picks and chooses what to report on, which could be that there's just too much going on that they can't cover those things, or is it more? I don't know.
My big thing when it comes to the detective assigned to Justin's case is that he's not responding to Scott at ALL, everything Scott does receive tip-wise, he forwards directly to this detective with NO RESPONSE. Look I get that the detectives don't have to tell the family anything or give them information but a basic "Thank You" or even a call saying "Hey just wanted to let you know that we're still looking into things." is all it takes. Just have some empathy / common human decency for this FATHER who has now lost 2 sons to murder and just recently his wife.
When I started looking into this, I leaned heavily towards it possibly being a RICO case but at this point how much more does law enforcement need for them to convict if it was a RICO case? These people post everything online, so one would also assume that they're messaging each other about these crimes leaving a digital trail, as well as I know they're talking about the things they've done to people in jail when they're locked up. So it's not like it would be hard to gather evidence on them. Also again if it was RICO, wouldn't Law enforcement want to keep those people behind bars while they do their investigation? Just since Justin's disappearance, most if not all of the individuals have been arrested at least once, some multiple times, and have been released. (Except for Diamond who is in prison on unrelated charges) As of now two of those people have cut off their ankle monitors and are currently "on the run" from the police. Though I've heard they're still in the area and are easy to find... So it's not like these people are just being model citizens while they're out. They're still continuing to commit crimes and possibly even murders.
Ultimately what I know for sure is the way this case was investigated as well as how the family has been treated is NOT RIGHT & needs to be talked about!

I would bet my right leg that Diamond is an informant. It’s the only reason they would call off the sting. Not that KCPD does anything anyways, but being able to say “we need her safe for something bigger” is a convenient excuse for not investigating what happened to Justin.

I lived/bartended in an area that was high in its homeless population as well as crime (mostly drugs and sex work) and it became VERY clear how many addicts/sex workers/ and people down on their luck were used as police informants. It wasn’t even like a hidden thing. There was no regard for their safety or lives, and while that wouldn’t excuse if Diamond knows more and isn’t saying, I do feel for her if she’s being manipulated by more powerful people also.

Something needs to be done about law enforcement in this country. Nineteen children and two teachers were murdered just the other day whilst cops stood around outside jacking each other off (oh, and let’s not forget those cops who ran inside the school to rescue their own kids but left the rest to die and handcuffed parents who tried to do the same then lying about it)
. Nineteen children are dead and they keep changing their story because they’re evil liars. What makes me angry is when other law enforcement officers and their family members defend their atrocious behavior by saying it’s allegedly only a few cops, as if the saying doesn’t go, “one bad apple spoils the bunch.”
How come corrupt cops who don’t do their jobs get raises and promotions whilst the few who ever actually speak out about the problems in their departments are harassed and fired? Why do cops get to push people around and abuse their authority? I wish I could refuse to do my job, tell my boss off who pays me, and still collect a paycheck.
This family and all others deserve answers. Cops should not get to decide what work they’re going to do or not do. Fire them all and start over after actually requiring real training and not the few hours of tiddlywinks they do now.

Also again if it was RICO wouldn't Law enforcement want to keep those people behind bars while they do their investigation? Just since Justin's disappearance, most if not all of the individuals have been arrested at least once, some multiple times, and have been released. (Except for Diamond who is in prison on unrelated charges) As of now two of those people have cut off their ankle monitors and are currently "on the run" from the police. Though I've heard they're still in the area and are easy to find... So it's not like these people are just being model citizens while they're out. They're still continuing to commit crimes and possibly even murders.

So, I work at a hotel. And, our policy, as is most, we are NOT ALLOWED to give information about our guests. Even after they've checked out. We can't even tell someone if they even stayed there or not. So, I'm guessing the employee who did release that info got fired because their policy was the same or similar. It's a fireable offense for sure here.
Just wanted to throw out an FYI about that.
But, I think you're 💯 correct with your beliefs on this one.

I'll tell you this as a wf that spent years in these streets living diamonds life although I worked solo and wasn't in to the Robbery stuff many people around me where and the way they did that is a old normal thing (not the killing part tho) diamond had a willing participantion if not the leading role don't let her young wf role fool you. Also if this is a criminal organization thing the FBI is most likely gathering information and that's why the police aren't doing anything but also know the FBI will let people get killed even if they can prevent it just to gather more information and evidence.

Maybe the family should reach out to the head of the Days Inn Hotel Franchise (Wyndham Hotels and Resorts) since it's being used for various crimes in this community. An argument could be made that LE in the area is causing harm to their reputation by allowing numerous instances of crimes, including murder, to be carried out there without attempting to stop it. Days Inn would have access to resources to not only pressure LE to solve Justin's murder but to stop the criminal activity on their property.

Form fom of a hotels and strangely I worked in KC MO. When you work front desk you do sign a contract or for other hotels/motels you just kinda get a lecture about guests and their privacy. I have seen and personally had to tell family members no when looking for information for a loved one for one reason or another. However, I have on occasion been known to let things “slip”. Most hotels are VERG strict about giving any sort of guest information out and you can and will lose your job. However, in cases like this, being a good person and helping comes first in my option and have risked my job many times to help a family out. KC KS is a horrible place to be. The corruption isn’t limited to the Kansas side either. MO has done some really horrible things. I would say it’s a KC PD thing in general to not investigate crimes and to leave it to the families to suffer and investigate themselves. This breaks my heart. I hope one day we can bring justice to him and his family

I moved near Detroit literally right after the city declared bankruptcy. I now live in Detroit and I'm sure a 6of people know about Kwame Kirkpatrick (who is now out of jail BTW) . Also in 2019 I witnessed a shooting of a 16 yr old and was the only one brave enough to call 911. I wasn't at the scene where it happened just close enough too. The 1st DPD 🚓 took 7 minutes and an ABC news van got there b4 the 🚑! It was very apparent this boy was deceased but hearing that cry out then watching him go down is the worst thing I've ever witnessed in my life in person! I checked the news for days and it NEVER came up! But there were 7 shootings besides that one that in particular day.
Sounds to me like this Diamond is a C.I. or related to someone in the KCPD! I think the FBI needs to do a heck of a lot more investigations and contact the Kansas State Police and the states Bureau of Investions and see if there's any P.I.'s that might help them pro Bono bc those ppl have a lot of knowledge too.
Also the family shouldn't tell anyone what they're finding out or by whom at all bc like what happened near his Aunt's house, these people just don't care! I binged watched like 3 seasons of The First 48 TV show over Memorial Day Weekend so going off of some stuff I watched!

When you first said they backed off from Diamond for HER safety I instantly figured she was a CI, but after hearing about the authorities in that area I can’t see them going to the trouble. Someone else had a reason for pulling them back and it had to be someone with power. Also, the fact that she is considered hands off but is obviously a habitual offender of the laws says something too. My thoughts go out to his family and little boy. May he someday be found, or the truth comes out and they can have closure.

It sounds to me like Diamond's mom has a lot of nerve as if Diamond hadn't put herself in the shit then she would t have been in the shit. Sounds like Diamond set him up. Then she tried to sell his phone...shady thief. How does the family know what all Justin had in his car in order to know what all was stolen from his car? Does Diamond live at the Days Inns or does she turn tricks there? Could be her reasoning for showering so much. She isn't innocent in all of this and probably knows a LOT more than she is telling. Did she end up selling his phone or did they end up getting it from her. Nothing about the sting sounds like they were actually going to do anything and why are the police protecting her? Some really shady shit going on ..
