Green sand moulding is used for casting of traditional iron box and other things such as bushes etc in our village. Mannar ,Kerala is well known as bronze village. Here urli nilavilakk are made by lost wax method. Happy to see this moulding vedio.. keep doing,,🥰🥰
I recall these basic techniques from my 1st year engineering days..ah fun labs. People who don’t know about forging/casting basics think casting requires something hi tech but no it doesn’t and same principles apply even in the highest tech automated factories if they use sand casting.

We do the same work in Moradabad . This is called sand casting and our city is know as the Brass city

What is the purpose of burning lighter fluid on the finished sand form? Does it firm up the mold?
If the cast is poured on only sand...it may deform...burning lighter fluid helps in solidifying or fixing the sand
Gets rid of trapped moisture and gases that may disrupt the shape of the cast metal
