The fact that this guy went through what he went through and STILL came into the league & made strides (at least for the short time) speaks volumes. I can only imagine how devastating he would’ve been with some college experience & a healthy body…
Pretty well? Lloyd was gettin down giving the world a hint of the magic that was on another level before he got shot. So, imagine a more athletic skilled Lloyd, that's what Garf, Gauchos, NYC, and anybody who hooped back then or coached back then knew, he was unstoppable.
Lloyd was a SUPER talent! Oozed All-Pro ability when he was totally focused on basketball. It’s great to see glimpses of strong play like this clip-considering he was not playing nowhere near to his optimal level. A fantastic guy!
I grew up in NYC and Lloyd Daniels, Kenny Anderson and Rod Strickland were names people talked about all the time….. even so, Lloyd was still the standout. That man would definitely be a Hall of Famer if he didn’t use drugs and didn’t get shot. That’s why one of my main messages to kids is to stay away from drugs, stay away from other people who use or sell drugs and to never abuse alcohol.
Actually, they changed the rules in 2017. You only need 3 years of service now and you only need to play one game in an NBA season to qualify for a year so technically speaking Lloyd does qualify for the NBA pension. I believe he would qualify for $800 per month per year of service. He would receive around 4 grand a month with full medical benefits based on his five years in the league. I believe he has opportunities to go to college if he wants. I might be off on the amount as I believe 800 is the amount if you wait until you're 62. He is in his 50s so if he decides to take the pension earlier it's a slightly reduced rate because they pay you over a longer period of time. Either way I'm glad they changed the rules for guys like him as I'm sure it keeps him off the street.
@@Nomah1979 Sounds about right. I was born in Seattle in 1973, where I grew up, Sonics and Blazers fan. In 2003, we learned on the news that James Edwards received $80,000 a year for his NBA pension.
The focus of this particular video is Lloyd Daniels himself, as he does not have a lot of NBA representation on TH-cam. Drazen’s clutch finish from the same game is linked in my description, or right here: th-cam.com/video/_HIlXpXhiVE/w-d-xo.html
ESP.Fitness I do not find that “going to work” must be exclusive to one player. Both Petro and Lloyd took turns wheeling and dealing this evening, as referenced in the description. As Petro’s highlights from this game were uploaded years prior (th-cam.com/video/6904XdlbLuQ/w-d-xo.html&) I felt it’d make more sense to focus on Daniels, who turned in one of the best offensive performances of his career.
@@Swove2204 I'm from Harlem. Polo Grounds! Going to work means both end of the court! Sweet P is legendary. I grew up watching him going to work but if you did not out score your opponent how are you going to work? I just said the title was cute but click bait because you are showing one side. You don't have click bait "Lloyd Daniels"! Lloyd Daniel is known World Wide, NYC LEGEND
@@EliteSports217 Fair point. Sometimes it's tough to find that balance between "Lloyd Daniels - 21 points" and "Sweet P Absolutely Destroys International Legend (MUST WATCH)". I was hoping I'd found a middle ground, but I went ahead and changed the title regardless.

Nice! Lloyd was peaking in the NBA at this time... you could almost imagine him as the all-star he was supposed to be

Smooth dude.... bought him a beer when I worked at the Bikini Bar on 8th Ave. ;)
Old school! Love it . Spurs Tribe galvanize!
some Llyod Daniels is the best street Ball player of all time...
Coby Dietrich! I ran into him at the grocery store awhile back.
Chris Morris with the good block!
amazing block by number 34 at the end, refs botched that call
That definitely a goal tend
What happend with him ?
Ended his NBA career just 7 games short of a pension. His last team should've made sure he got it.

Lloyd Daniels was kind of playing "at home," this game. Probably had family and friends in the stands.
What a waste of talent. He could have been an all time great. Proved he could play at the highest level.
thats the game petro `torched` the spurs th-cam.com/video/_HIlXpXhiVE/w-d-xo.html ("petro[vic] wants the 3... it is on its way... it goes")
Didn't realize he was so highly touted. Sucks he had off court stuff
Cute title " Drazen Petrovic had 34
