When holding pressure on the mold be sure to release pressure before removing the injector. Also, tilt the injector toward you incase their is pressure the hot plastic shoots away from you.
I can't express how important what you're saying needs to be understood. I come from a manufacturing world in aerospace. And I can tell you how important it is to document and standardized what works. There are ton of variables that will contribute to failure. I honestly don't care about denting in my own bait when shooting. But for selling I can see people want perfect. I do see a ton of bad advice like you said.
I just started bait making. Been watching for around 6 years and you helped me get started. But I did mess up and should’ve bought this mold instead of the old school stick top pour mold because it’s too time consuming for me and I really regret not having that core shot. Thank you for all the information over the years
Love the channel mate!!! Is there a certain temp difference between mold and plastic that is optimal or rough guide to help reduce denting in bigger swim Baits 5-8 inch....
Where can I buy the vented worm? Or is it just a mold for this specific video? I have a fatguys fishing 5” senko mold but would like a core shot mold with maybe a bigger profile
They use them when running high volume injection when molds get super hot..so hot that the baits won't set up for half an hour. It's to maintain timing
Question: Is there a way to minimize the bubbles that you show in the fluke mold at the end of the video? I have a crappie bait mold that does that consistently.
Thanks Chris I definitely check all the boxes for bad techniques 😂 You gave me some things to experiment with. Would you have sold any of the baits that came out dented? What about the ones you really had to look at? Thanks so much. You inspired me to get in to the hobby 👍
I was having a lot of denting issues with my 5” Bloodline molds until you clued me in on the importance of not allowing rapid cooling. Even when I use very hot plastisol with complicated skin pouring or capsuling, I now have only rare denting. I still am plagued by air bubbles but I think that is mostly due to pour injection technique as you demonstrated here.
@@WorldsWorstFishing I’m always racing to dual inject 9 top port cavities in my cold basement before my blending block hardens- so I inject to fast and fail to hold pressure long enough (maybe?)
i tried what you said slow injecting pressure and I tried it with these individual molds from bugmolds the bandito bug zako and the gilly is there another way to inject individual port molds i never have problems with one port molds for all the baits and they dont want to fill in all the way and it is dent crazy its my first time buying individual molds i seen the end of the video with those flukes bugmolds the molds dont look like that
and forgot to add something else the bandito bug the wiskers part dont want fill in all the way and tail part for zako and gilly dont want to fill in all the way
Thanks again for clearing that up because I got a jerk bait mold that dents most of the time and now I can shot slow and hold more pressure with out throwing it out lol thanks again triple j baits
That same mold with the core rods, using Dead-on sinking, gave me dents. Played with the temps and still had dents. I wasn’t injecting slow and holding as long though Take those rods out and no problems
I have to say I was really shocked you pulled out the stinger mold. I have had dents in it, like 2 or 3, over 1000+ baits. The split tail shad is notorious in my house for denting along the sides and I was guessing that was what you were going to grab.
@@WorldsWorstFishing I still think that it's a thermal change, and in fairness sometimes the big manufacturers have dents on their baits as well I try to have warm molds, warm injector and try to have plastisol not super hot, but every so often it happens...I can usually use the baits, so no big deal, but just annoying

Definitely annoyance- The fish don’t care,

Thanks Chris. That pretty much shows me what I asked you about last week. That mold is on its way back to the maker. Thanks again.

Very good info Chris. Question If it’s cool molds that are part of the problem that cause denting then why do people use Cooling Plates? 🍻

Great video and lots of good info
Thank ya
Question: Is there a way to minimize the bubbles that you show in the fluke mold at the end of the video? I have a crappie bait mold that does that consistently.
@tevans404 not really..you'd have to be able to add vents or drill out the gates wider
Thanks Chris I definitely check all the boxes for bad techniques 😂

@LarryDean903 yes...cooling too fast can cause them..

Thanks

Will the same techniques apply for injecting into a silicone mold? I appreciate your wisdom
