The progress is fantastic, and how competent you have become. A fast learner. But, the magic has to be the river. A cool escape after a tough day. Love every episode.
Omg yes, please please please keep that little sink and use it for another project, it’s so adorable. 😍 Also you should keep that stone sink where your outdoor kitchen is, the one with the pizza oven in it, and reuse it as well, it’s so awesome.
Wow, I love how you tackle every challenge with a smile! 🌞 It really feels like we’re all on this journey with you. Off-grid living seems tough but you make it look so fun! Can’t wait for the renovations, they’re gonna be awesome! 🔧✨
watching you place the door steps I can’t help but think people building stone houses 400 years ago would have had exactly the same conversations and challenges!
You are such an amazing woman Maya. I also love that you have such amazing friends who are willing to give you a helping hand and that you return the favour by helping them. Such wonderful humans
Your patience is top tier along with your discipline! Love how you’re always laughing and woohooing no matter how hot and tired you are. Thanks for making some great content
My Sunday coffee routine…just starting the day with lovely Maya. You are doing so well and are just the sweetest thing. Love your energy. Happy Sunday, Maya🫶
@mayafeliz You might consider putting a sealed inspection chamber (or even a siphon trap) in the pipe from the kitchen perhaps in the middle of the ulility floor in place of the 90° bend. You have some tight bends and potential for blockage in that small pipe. This will make it easier to clear.
I am so proud of your great work ethic. You have accomplished so much especially with the help of all the work-friends you have made. It’s amazing how much you can accomplish with someone helping and then you can go to their house to accomplish their dreams too. Keep up the wonderful work! God bless from Wade, in Rosa, AL, USA. 🇺🇸
I just love watching women doing and building things for them selves I support and salute you for doing so even though you fear and doubt themselves,❤❤❤❤
Maya yet again you have shown perseverance with those challenges … and then the result seems to make it all worthwhile. The heat factor is in itself a challenge 😅😅. You are one of those women whose determination is such a inspiration… every step brings you closer to fulfilling your dream .. 👏👏👏👏👏 Durban SA🇿🇦
Maya, you are very lucky to have friends and neighbors that can help you with your renovation. Many jobs take more than 2 hands! Your work swapping works very well also. Nice arrangement. Keep at it.
Maya, you are an absolute marvel! At 102° F you might have dried out like a raisin sweating in that heat. Congrats on your determination and successful plumbing, flooring and roofing projects
Maya ,I'm so glad I ran across your videos !!! You are so inspirational!! You are an amazing and beautiful girl that doesn't give up!! And also you are so thankful and have so much gratitude. I love your positivity about life !! You are such a sweet girl!! I can't wait until your next video. May the Good Lord keep blessing you and keeping you safe throughout your wonderful adventure!!! My family originated in Germany and settled here in Old Salem in North Carolina where I live as Moravians. You are Awesome and beautiful!!!! 😎❤💐
Good morning Maya, Another lovely video and great work from you as always and we are pleased you made time for the beach the only thing we were disappointed in was the lack of you dancing 💃 Take care Michael and Carol ❤
I’ve never seen that one, I’ll give it a try. I love a channel called Do&Be Different Farmily, the same type of content except from another country and featuring animals☺️
Good morning from South Florida 🌴. Love to see your energy 🎉 I have a daughter that is an engineer, and have Always admired her beautiful and smart mind. So proud of you Mya❤
Kinda in love with this lady. Gives anything and everything a go. Usually succeeds and does a brilliant job at it. Sounds like a lovely friend and neighbour too.
Usually the stepping stone or the similar ones on windows are installed by sliding them. In order to do so you curve not the stone but the sides of the wall. This also gives gives a better final look and lock the stone in place. Plus it is easier to install.
Morning, oder Morgen von Berlin... ich habe mich auf deine positive Einstellung gefreut. Your ambitious project combined with such a wonderful energy from you (whether positive, or sometimes sad, frustrated...) gives me a really good feeling Maya. YooHooo! Perfekt!
When working with concrete and stone, try to avoid tight tolerances. With heat, cold and rain, a house, and its floor, will work. 0,5cm each side is the minimum amount of room you need to give yourself. Especially, if you are doing a lot of fresh concrete work. Concrete can pull gaps tight during curing. Keep up the good work, the house is looking so lovely!
Wow! Another amazing week of work! You have great stamina Maya, working in that heat. It must be wonderful to think that when it gets cold you will have a fully contained, warm bathroom! You've also become a master puzzle maker. All of those crazy cuts! I can't wait to see the finished bathroom! Your positive energy and confidence are growing even stronger. Great job!!! I love to see that you and your neighbours are working closely togehter. You have a great heart! Have a great week!!
I have been loving this show from the outset. As an aside the best houses I have ever lived in from a construction point of view were the ones I was brought up in in Germany.
Maybe you can make a dam in the river between the large rocks? This gives you more depth for swimming. Leave a little space for fish to pass through. It's possible that when the river gets wild the dam will be demolished, but you still got a few months of enjoyment out of it.
Maya...klopfe nicht mit dem Hammer auf die Steinplatte...das gibt ggf. feine Risse, die erst in der Zukunft erscheinen... lege ein Stück Holz drunter...das fängt die Schläge ab! liebe Grüsse! ♥️👍
considering you're working on the floor in the heat, have you considered adding in floor heating tubes? they can also be used for cooling, and i'm willing to bet the river water is a lot cooler than ambient during the day. while I wouldn't recommend pumping river water directly through your floors, a tube heat exchanger is a very simple and relatively cheap device, as are circulation pumps. condensation might become an issue though, some calculation is required. The river is a great resource for thermal management. addition of a water to water heat pump can make for a very low impact way of heating and cooling, as they can easily deliver 5-10x the electricity input as heating output, so they can run on solar
I agree with David, the river is magic now. But, I really like it in the winter time. That's really beautiful to me. Take care and have a great week, DA
Cucumbers, zucchinis, tomatoes, peppers.. All there need to have trellis to climb and have their produce handing. It is quite easy to make with sticks and string.
Maya I thought of you yesterday when I saw the bad storm that assaulted your beautiful country of Zwitserland ! The roofs were flying from the houses. I hope your family was not affected. ? Meanwhile your challenges go on. I am glad you are getting some help. Take care ! ❤❤❤
You are an amazing young lady. You are hardworking and determined to get the job done. You will have a beautiful home when you are finished. What a great location with the water and land. Oh by the way you are attractive too. Stay safe, nice of you to help others. Thank you for sharing with us. What country did you say you are in?
How refreshing was the river swim? Are there fish in the river? Any updates on the water wheel and concrete storage tank? Great wildlife - deer, foxes. You mentioned snakes - any details? Change of pace and environment, enjoying a day at the beach. Any waterfalls or local watering holes near you? Hiking or ruding trails? Inspite of the heat, making progress in getting items checked off the basement to do list.
Watching from the UK and loving it. A tip Maya, when laying plumbing or electrical, take a photo and put it on file for future reference to make it easier for any future repairs or upgrades. ❤
I am so curious how you decide what to do and how to do it. Do you have people with know how to discuss your plans with or do you mainly look it up yourself? Would love a video on that!
It’s really nice to see Sherri ‘come out of his shell’, or get more comfortable with the camera, over the months too 😊
He’s one of my favorite guest stars!
Admire your energy; always in a good mood even when you‘re exhausted 👍
The progress is fantastic, and how competent you have become. A fast learner. But, the magic has to be the river. A cool escape after a tough day. Love every episode.
