Clean the tiles with vinegar! The spots are calcium, it will dissolve in vinegar or anything acid. Please don't use the iron brushes, they will damage the coating on your tiles. Also, for a next project, don't wait to long. You can start cleaning one hour after grouting your tiles. Love your projects btw, many respect for you just trying it all out. I work the same, have built many projects by just trying and educating myself using TH-cam videos :)
Maya jour drains will even look much better if you use a couple of 45° piece to line them out straigth against the wall. The last roof being angle in the wrong direction down you can follow the roof line and just make the drain on the other side and feed it back underground or covering it up.. Making them straigth against the wall really will make you happy because it will look like a pro job making it visually look even more beautiful..
The gutters look great, managing water is the never ending task of home ownership. I watched in horror as you left the grout on the tiles to dry. My last (and really only) tile project I was a bit too casual getting the grout off the tiles quickly, and spent hours scrubbing to get it off. Maybe some sort of acid solution could clean it off?
Maya, you should try to mix vinegar with warm water which will help with the grout haze. I also used to dry them with a clean cloth right away to avoid staining from the water which will get murky after a while.
Such good progress this week Maya … getting the gutters up … protecting the wood, installing the gas boiler, sealing the ridge tiles and then the back breaking job of cleaning off the tile grout …. Your tiling has made such a difference Maya.. and so your home continues to show your constant progress … so very happy for you 😁😁 Durban SA 🇿🇦
Hello Maya, your 🏠 is getting more beautiful every day (just a suggestion). You can collect some stones in your region and glue them to the back wall of your house. In addition to helping to waterproof the wall, it would also give it a charming rustic look ❤🇵🇹
Run the upper root downspout straight into the lower roof gutter. Offset the lower roof downspout to align better with the in-ground connection. Start earlier, use a bigger sponge, change the water often, when wiping the excess tile grouting. For the upper driveway drain: dig a deeper trench as trucks drive over, lay a french drain perforated pipe, wrap a protective layer over the pipe and cover with gravel, refill trench and compact.
Hello Maya, I am in Minnesota US I have been watching your channel for a long time now I do not comment often. I am so proud of you for all you are doing and learning. You do not spare any effort to ensure you are doing the best job possible. I love all the thoughtfulness of preparation to use the best methods of creating and building each step of the projects. Your channel is the first one I watch every Sunday morning with my coffee. Thank you so much for having something for me to look forward to. Our planet is in such turmoil with some many bad situations of human conditions all the positivity and hope I see in your videos does reinforce that their is still so much love and hope in the world. Peace and blessings for you and your future projects, Steven
We were in the algarve first two weeks of October. Never ever saw rain in Portugal before (been there more than 10 times), but we got absolutely drenched for the last three days of our trip. The garden erupted in beautiful green colours even that late in the summer. One of the locals told me “It doesn’t rain often, but when it does you know about it!”..
So amazing to see how big and bright that is now! A massive change from lifting the stone floor in a dark and damp void under your main house floor! Truly amazing, well done x
Hi Maya, I have much admiration for your hardworking and living spirit. I am from South Africa and wush I could also go "offgrid". Have you perhaps considered to get a water tank to catch all the rain water?
Good progress! What a great job you have done! It’s nice to see that you are still friends with Paul. I know he doesn’t like being on camera. I always feel better when he’s working on projects with you because of his background in engineering. Hi Paul! Nice to see you!
What a transformation since you began this journey - and as it continues. What a beautiful property and country. I love your land and home. It has such charming character. I look forward to seeing how it develops. Ah. The fire. It seems so cozy. I love the space you've created for yourself (and are continuing to develop). Thank you for sharing. All the best.
Well done young lady, all your hard work is paying off because you got off your arse and did it, magnificently. You have my unstinting admiration. love from uk
Thank you Maya! I am so happy that you are going to be very comfortable this winter. You have worked very hard and your results are amazing. It's an even better feeling when you know that you've done most of the work. (You can get a product to paint on the grout called grout sealer that will keep the grout white.) May you enjoy your new home in good health, joy and prosperity!
Im wondering if you get any kind of decent rain it will just overshoot the guttering. Storm guttering might be better. A french drain at the top of your driveway would help a lot😊
On that one downspout on the roof, if the velocity of water is fast enough coming out, it could shoot water underneath of your roof tile. You're definitely a hard worker and proud of all you do.
I can’t wait for your videos every week! You are such a sweet lady and so talented. Only thing I wish you would wear better shoes when you’re on a roof. I wish you all the best and great success. Can’t wait to see what you do next week.❤❤❤ much love from Arizona
COGRATS MAYA. I loved it when you said you were happy it was raining. You are home now. Hugs and here's to a coze winter season. Love the gutters what pretty color. Can't wait to see your concrete water tank fill up. Gina in Upstate New York USA moving to Portugal/Italy
great job Maya🎉 (btw-I use microfiber rags for the grout clean up, sponges do not get up the film and residue without repeated application 😅) it all looks so beautiful. I'm so happy for you🥰
That is really impressive, such a massive change to that dark dungeon. Now the remaining installations can be done and all will be ready for winter. What you've achieved with your positive energy is just amazing.
Wonder if you could put a barrel under the outlet guttering to capture some of that gorgeous rainwater for use in the house. Drinking and washing hair and clothes is amazing with rainwater.
You need a hammer drill Maya for all those brick, concrete and stone surfaces. Regular drill will take forever to drill holes and you may even go through a bunch of drill bits because they will fry going for that long.
I'm curious if you've cleaned creosote from your stove pipe. They make a creosote sweeping log or you can get another brush with fiberglass extension to scrub out your pipe. If it's not done periodically, it could cause a fire. Also, depending if wood you burn is a hard or softwood. You could get a higher amount of creosote. Software adds a lot more creosote and you'll need to clean more frequently.
Pon unas tablas en las tejas cuando andes en el tejado. Protegerás más las tejas. El vinagre se usa mucho para limpiar los blancos de las lechadas. Disuelto, claro!
Your Tight Pants weird color but they look good on you, and it compliments your Cute Rear End. Thank you for the video good job on the work you did.. It looks very good.

Great idea will try that 👍
The hard work finally showed up🎉🎉🎉
Was about to say the same: no steel wool. You have to clean tiles almost immediately.

You are learning so much, Maya!
As you are grouting tiles, keep a wet spumge and buctet of clean water handy. Wipe up the grout while it's still wet.
Yes white vinegar and a sponge should get rid of the rest of the grout stains. Bravo ❤
Tile your balcony Maya with beautiful colourful Portugal Tiles. This will be absolutely gorgeous, brighten your balcony ❤🎉
yes
Maya. So so happy to see you experiencing more comfort and joy after such hard working days this summer. 😊
Thank you so much 😊
Yay 🎉Sunday morning coffee and Maya video!

Use vinegar or lemon juice instead of metal sponge to dissolve the grouting from the tiles' surfaces.
Maya Eline Emeğine Sağlık Bu Güzel Vlog ve Video İçin Kolay Gelsin Hayırlı İşler Bol Bereketli Kazançların Olsun 👍👍👍👍
Hi, you should put an endcap on the lower rain gutter. Love your videos
Impressing what you achieve every week (including all the things we don't see, like planning, material sourcing, and video production)!
Maya!! little by little you are getting there..
Such good progress this week Maya … getting the gutters up … protecting the wood, installing the gas boiler, sealing the ridge tiles and then the back breaking job of cleaning off the tile grout ….

My back and knees were hurting just watching you grout those tiles 😂
That’s one of the first things I think of when watching her videos! 😂
The grouting is one, the cleaning up repeatedly after is much worse.

Juhuuu, ich freu mich so jeden Sonntag dein neues Video zu schauen :)
Keep up the good work.
Yay its always great to see a new Maya video.

you are amazing Maya
Nice result ❤
Everything is coming together so nicely. It looks so cozy ...
To clean the tiles, workers usually use a crumpled plastic mesh bag, like a potato bag from the supermarket. 😉
Coffee, dancing and inspiration with Maya... My favorite way to start my Sunday! 💙🤸🏼🤸🏼♀️🤸🏼♂️🌈🌻
I really like the tiles you chose and that entry stone at the door way that you cut and fitted into place.
Looks very Cool.

🚨🚨SUGGESTION… put a French drain in your front area to stop the hill water & divert it!
Well done Maya, you've worked hard for what you have got now.
It is so nice for you to have a much more comfortable building to live in this winter Maya. You have been able to get so much done there.
Im wondering if you get any kind of decent rain it will just overshoot the guttering. Storm guttering might be better.
A french drain at the top of your driveway would help a lot😊
Been following for quite a while. I'm a Portugal lover too. It's a great place you've found yourself there Maya and great work in renovating it.

Such great transformations! You’ve done. Amazing.
Great job Maya, you’re an amazing and inspirational young lady 🎉❤

What you've achieved with your positive energy is just amazing.
Congratulations! Maya. Well done. Great work ethics. 👏
I love watching you from Port Elizabeth . South Africa. 😊
Those gutters are to low the rain will go right over them coming off the roof ☝🏻 Maya
yes

Bravo Maya❤🎉
Good job as always. Awesome to see your progress!!
Looking totally amazing! Go you! #TeamMaya
Awesome dancing to the Shins!
Gut gemacht 👍👍👍
After the tiles are clean , apply a sealer.. keep the grout from stains.
Hello Maya, nice to sse the house is water proof! 😉👍
Hermosa habitación! Yo creo que la lechada se va limpiando conforme la pones, sino pasa eso! Se seca y se vuelve interminable su limpieza!. ❤
Looks beautiful 😮😮😮
Great job, Maya!
I love your channel
Cheers from Brazil ✌🏼
You need a hammer drill Maya for all those brick, concrete and stone surfaces. Regular drill will take forever to drill holes and you may even go through a bunch of drill bits because they will fry going for that long.
Can’t wait to see how full the water deposit gets
use white vinager about tail cleaning
Coffee is ready!😊
Always good job 🎉perfecte
Try some S-L-X denatured alcohol on the tile grout should take up the cloudiness.
Would LOVE to see how much water gathered in the water paddoc O_O Great work Maya!
use diamond cup to drill vent-hole, and you get complete nice round hole.
Try again, you can do it! Hugs from the Netherlands t0 you!
Buenos días Maya, para quitar los restos de lechada usa Deterdek de Fila y te quedará perfecto.
use cement residue remover after grouting - it works great

beautiful work ;)
well done! you are magnificent!
Awesome progress, Maya! Love your videos. What book(s) are you reading??
God, you're gorgeous and such a beautiful soul ❤
You should have used kitchen toweling for polishing of grout dust, not keep spreading it with wet spounge ok.
Your Tight Pants weird color but they look good on you, and it compliments your Cute Rear End. Thank you for the video good job on the work you did.. It looks very good.
Maya, love your vlogs especially your dane. Are you going to move down into the bed room, when you have finished?
White vinegar ,crear the tile and water
