I had a sleep number 3000 for the last 18 years. I just ordered a 360 smart bed with adjustable base today & I am so looking forward to it! There's nothing like a sleep number bed. I have never had an issue with customer service. They have always been extra helpful.

Can I ask what model bed you purchased?

I purchased the P6 bed and to be honest, its only ok. When you purchase a standard bed with springs, you have a gel like type top that is soft and comfortable and then either firm, med, or plush mattress underneath. When you lay down on these beds you will be like, WOW this is a great mattress. (all depending if you prefer firm, med, or plush). When you go to the P6 or P5, you don't have this pleasant top that is soft and comfortable. You have a firm top. Then you have to reduced the amount of air until you get enough give to relieve your pressure points. So my wife and I do not get that WOW feeling when you lay on the Sleep by number bed. Your friends who love their Sleep by number bed well tell you, well you have to get use to it. Give it a couple of weeks. Why would I have to get use to it? Why not just buy a bed that you love the first time you sleep on it?
For someone who is a little over 200 pounds, I had to go down to at least the 50 setting to get enough give. Its ok but when again you still don't get that comfortable top that you get with a regular bed with springs. The Purple bed is too bouncy, and the top purple rubbery mesh flattens immediately when you lay on it. Yes you get some air cool results, but I don't like the feel of it. Temperpedic you either love it or hate it. I found the hybrid to be the best as you don't sink as much in it which means you can move around a little easier.
With all this being said, I like the a higher end standard mattress the best. It just feels normal, it provides you expect and its cheaper. On the Sleep by number bed there is a buoyant feeling you get on this air bed that I am not crazy about either. I still may keep the P6 as I have only had it for a week and you can't return it so soon. By the way, when you reduce the air to 50, the sides are higher than the center as the foam around the perimeter is not part of the air mattress on the Sleep by number beds.

We’ve had nothing but issues with our p5…bulging air chambers on both sides, non-existent customer service (the showrooms can’t initiate any service), a compressor that you can hear kick on and off overnight, a wonky phone app…worst bed I’ve owned since the college dorm 25 years ago…we’re returning it on Monday…

  • @WM-xd8zc

I have an earlier sleep number bed that now has a slow leak in the air mattress . They had a recall on their plastic platform which caused an issue with foam surrounding the air mattress and the mattress covering split at the seams. I called customer service they said the warranty doesn't cover those issues and they wanted $500 for the foam replacement. I didn't ask about the mattress or mattress cover. At that point , I decided I'm going back to a regular bed. How can a company charge $5099.00 then discount it 50% during holidays. You know they're still making a profit on the bed at 50%. This is a review after owning the bed for 12yrs and dealing with the company when you have issues .

I once slept on a sleep number bed about ten years ago in a hotel. It was one of the worst nights of sleep I have ever had. I think there was a mechanical failure with one or more of the air chambers. Would like to try a newer version to see how it feels. Seems somewhat gimmicky, but may be worth it if your back appreciates it.

Sleep Number is the smartest bed i ever heard of, its so unique. I really like the Performance Series P5. I really like the whole idea of the air chambers that you can adjust to find your perfect firmness. I’m a strict side sleeper and need some pressure relief on my hips and shoulder so i think my sleep number is between 40-45. I also like the fact that you can monitor your sleep using these beds with your phone. They are really nice beds but a bit too pricey for me😓

Get the most basic one and add a 100dlls mattres topper. There is no point for espending so much money on "comfort zone"
And dont worry about tracking your sleep, after a month you wont even put atention to it.
The cooling foam gets very cold in winter, thats why i like the topper because i can use a cooling topper for summer and a normal one for winter.

Excellent information. My wife and I were so close to deciding on getting one of the higher end models. However, your review and information has convinced me that the value for price ratio is just not worth it. The "Things to consider" portion of the video was great. Nicely done. Saw on another video another perk is the materials component-ability. The smaller pieces inside the mattress are replaceable. The 25 year warranty is attractive that becomes prorated in year 3 at actual replacement of the damaged component cost and not full retail price. The foam is customizable.

Now, with the bed YET paid for entirely, I am being charged ONLY $200 for a new compressor (add $!00 for installment). I am told that the cost would have been much more had the compressor been older than 3-years old.

I don’t want my bed collecting all that information about me. Very creepy. Why is everyone so obsessed with adding excessive tech to everything? I think I’ll just refresh my old sleep number that still has great bladders and a pump with remotes that are wired (never a connectivity issue or fumbling to open an app) and it doesn’t spy on me. Sleep Number is a very interesting concept. The performance Series seems to provide the firmness that I need for my bad back and my wife likes a softer, more medium firmness. The only drawback is that my wife creeps over the centerline very often and the split mattress was problematic for her when we tried it out in the store. Nice mattresses but very expensive with the various options. I'd probably go for an inner spring hybrid mattress with some memory foam/ pillow top options.

So, Sleep Number Bed is the bed of the future, only it is available in the here and now. Obviously if you were going to purchase this bed you would really have to do your homework with all of the different options available in this collection. I think I am most attracted to the "Cooling Memory Foam Series" - the M7. It's a bit pricey, but worth it for all of the amazing features. I do appreciate that this company offers Sleep Number Value Beds. It doesn't have the responsive air technology but a very nice, more economical option. These beds are like they came out of the "Jetson's" cartoon - all of you folks out there in my age bracket will know what I mean.

I have been wanting to see a review on the Sleep Number beds. They are so expensive and I wanted to know if they are actually worth the price and how comfortable their mattresses are. I love that it is a smart bed and can adjust to your needs which just sounds amazing to me, but I don't know if I could even afford one of the value ones. And the value ones which adjust to you so another bed like a Nest or something would be better I think since I don't have a smart phone that tech wouldn't help me really except the C2 in their value ones might work price wise but it doesn't sound like it would work for a couple with one heavier. Temperature balancing and pressure relief plus separate adjusting for a couple sounds so wonderful on the more expensive ones, but the price is wayyyyyy out of my budget so I will have to look elsewhere unless someone gave me one LOL. Had to throw that in there. Thank you for doing this review, I was just thinking about these last night after a commercial and wondered if you had done a review on them and voila here it is!!

Hey Katy ! Got my awesome sleep number bed today after waiting four weeks , anyways , they delivered it broken right out of the box , but hey no worries , they re assured me that surely the second time around it should work . Hey folks do your homework , surely I am just unlucky , regardless , completely demoralizing experience , for $7,000 you would think the bed would be tested for function before leaving the factory , well guess what , they do , but even if it fails that factory diagnostic , they will still deliver it , ie , buyer beware , and if you get yours and it works , keep it , if you get the same crap like I did , get your money back , don’t be a schmuck , because schmucks are why they have this buismess practice of delivering a bed they know has failed quality inspection , absolutely awful experience with sleep number .

I am middle-aged and I would spend $6,000 on a bed if it was my last bet I would have to buy. I can't believe I'm even saying that I live on a disability check. But I have some nuts squirrel away like Chipmunks do for the winter. ;-) I am sleeping in the recliner right now because my bed has gotten out uncomfortable. It's the frame and if I put it on the floor I would have to wait for my caregiver to come every day and pull me up! I'm not going there. Sorry for all the posting but I want to make sure I do the right thing. :-)

Q: please provide your recommendation on a King between: Awara, Brooklyn Auroa, or Dreamcloud. I am looking for firmer (medium-firm to a true firm), neutral to cool, lay on top of the bed (no pillow tops), back / combo sleeper, 6 ft 1, 175-180 pounds.
    Thank you, Scott (from MIchigan)

I'm trying to return a Dreamcloud right now after 10 Months. Very good quality mattress but way to firm for me - woke up every day hurting/sore and per my fitbit, my sleep suffered from the day it was delivered. Just bought a sleep number innovation series. Can't wait for it to arrive.

I almost bought a sleep number bed. My instincts were to verify what the sales girl was telling me about how great the warranty was before I purchased since she would not provide me a copy at the store. After my research I discovered not only did the sales girl straight out lie to me but the warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on. Also researching I found horror story after horror story of not only how inferior this product is but how bad so many purchasers were screwed. This video is a simple paid advertisement. Do your research on this product and you will run for the hills like I did. Ask yourself one question. If this product is so great, how come no other reputable mattress companies sell their version??

    • @PlanetBlake
      @PlanetBlake 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

In addition to being very detailed, the reviewer sounded very objective in my view. She even offered up the negatives that customers expressed - including possible poor response from customer service, and also basically indicated everyone should check into the warranty terms...etc. Doing one's own research, should go almost without saying though, especially when one is considering spending upward of $5000+ on a bed.

Sleep Number has the worst customer service that I have ever seen! Even under full warranty they expect the customer to diagnose and fix the problem. I bought it because my wife and I are elderly with bad backs and the person on the phone has me trying to move the bed around and lift the mattress while pulling off hoses and plugging outlets to see what is leaking. When I demand that they get someone to come fix it there is a $107 charge. As I said it is still under the 24 month full coverage.

I bought a Sleep Number Bed and it was not a good choice. Best analogy......Sleep Number Beds are not furniture. They are more like new cars. When they are new, they work fine. After three years, like new cars, they malfunction. Where will you sleep if your Sleep Number malfunctions?

Just save yourself a lot of money and look for a different bed, My wife and I have a 2016 ILE ( over 5 grand ) and since then we have had to replace the Top, pump and now the foam is flattened out and all of this is at a price to use because their warranty only covers the 1st year then you have to pay a big percentage, also Really do research into the 100 night trial and how much you have to pay for that trial. Please save yourself from this money pit of a bed.

Over glorified blow up mattress. I have had nothing but problems with customer service in regard to the pump. Slowly leaks over night and by the time I wake up in the morning the bed is at 10 when the number originally was 50. Finally just plugged of the damn valve. Even though the bed is under warranty they wanted around 300 for a new pump. Seriously not worth it

I called the 800 customer service number today about our 10 year old sleep number (California King) bed not inflating. We put the number control to 100 and nothing happened. We wanted a service tech to come out and fix it or advise us. I was told when I called " service techs Don't Trouble Shoot".
Trouble shooting was done with customer service and the customer over the phone. The tech brings out the part/parts needed. There was a $100.00 service call/travel fee plus parts. I explained I can't lift the bed ( 125 lbs- my weight), and customer service suggested I get a neighbor to assist. I didn't purchase an expensive bed just to do that company's job of customer SERVICE. I don't have a problem with the travel fee or related charges or having to replace the mattress. I DO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH DOING THEIR JOB OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. My advice: DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT. MY rating for this company: -1.

The bed is a scam. I've known a few people who got it, and they overpaid wayy too much versus other options for better quality beds. They advertise too much and jack the price up an extra grand. Look around and skip this bed.
