Great review, thanks. We have purchased the same model that you have except our mattress is the flex top. It works better for us. This is our second Sleep Number bed. We have been sleeping on our first one since 1997 and we wanted to modernize and upgrade. We moved the older bed to another bedroom. It has been a life and back saver for me. We are more than satisfied with our new purchase. I might mention that the “Responsive Air” feature actually only works when the mattress is in the flat position.
Amanda, I was happily surprised to see that you had this review after all the running guidance I've gotten from you over the past few years! Thanks for all the detail on this. My wife and I are leaning to this model and setup as well.
Or you can click on the three dots and choose the “not interested” option, or the “do not show me this channel” option. Personally, I chose a third option: paying around $12 a month for an ad-free TH-cam experience. For me this is the best way since I watch tons of TH-cam videos 😅

Thanks for this review! We just purchased the same model today and I’m really excited to try it! I almost fell dead asleep trying it in the store lol. Looking forward to so many of the features, but totally still wincing at the price tag 😝 I’m hoping it will be worth it, but I have a feeling it will be!
@jennyespino7698, how has the sleep been after almost a year? Is the quality of sleep better and has it stayed better throughout the time you had it? On the verge of pulling the trigger on this one since it's $1,000 off right now so any feedback is appreciated.
@O Rod the Mod I just got done ordering mine. Especially with the 1k off. I had a c2 which I disliked. But I'll reuse the flex base 2 for the i8 and save a few grand
If you bought the select comfort with the new app on your phone delete it and ask for the hand controller because the app spies on your sex life probably too late for you to return the bed not that you could even from the start they don't back their products company used to be great now it's terrible
@Justin Atwell it never got off the launching pad, we went back to make a few adjustments to our 10 thousand dollar purchase, and the salesman lied to us about a few things. So we canceled our order because of his dishonesty.
Great review, my wife and I just upgraded from the C4 to the 2021 iLE split king with flexfit 3. It arrives next month and we can’t wait. The foot warming and active track response I’m really looking forward to!
Thanks so much for this review! We just bought this bed tonight and can't wait to try it! I'm wondering, though, if it's too thick/tall? I'm short at 5'2" and our current sleep number is only 8" tall? Yikes! But, the features seem awesome! Do you think yours is too tall? We have a platform bed and so, we can't adjust to bottom. Thanks for the great review! :)
I just went to store and almost fell asleep when I laid in the i8 I was sold I bought it asap $8500 with adjustable base and feet warmer it’s worth it it really is
Awesome information! Thank you very much. I'm here because I wanted to see what someone has said about the features they are offering in this particular mattress and base. (Currently shopping around for a new bed). One question I had. If you have the base like the flex fit 3 where each side has individual adjustments does that also mean you can turn the foot warmers on just one side?
I just purchased my I8 and Flex 3 yesterday and it'll be delivered next week. I see you've had yours for a year now and I'm curious do you still like it?
Where is the frame from? I’m getting this bed in a few weeks, with the flex base, and need to decide on a frame or a headboard. It’s larger than my current bed so can’t use that frame.
Originally I bought a select comfort king size bed in the late 1990s. I purchased the bed and frame and, reluctantly (only option) had it shipped to me and installed it myself. My wife and I loved it. She got it in the divorce:( It made little difference since I was a truck driver and basically lived in my truck 24/7. Fast forward to my retirement. 5 years ago, I purchased a twin size Sleep number mattress. Again shipped to me and I self installed. Now 5 years later I am having issues with my air chamber losing air. I contact support and find my bed came with a 25 year limited warranty. After going over the bed I decided that I needed a new air chamber, hose(starting to crack) and foam(losing shape). Those three items, after only 5 years of a 25 year warranty, will cost me another $300.00. The whole bed only cost me $700.00. So, I decided to upgrade to a Twin XL since my adjustable frame was designed for an XL. I inquired about an upgrade. Basically I can get a C2 Smart bed Twin XL for $799.00. Not that different from what I paid for my current bed, considering inflation. Only this one just has a 15 year warranty. Hmmmm I wonder why they shortened the warranty? Next the give me a quote. $799 for the bed(not bad), $159.80 sale discount(good deal), $249 delivery and premium setup fee(WHAT??????) $86.60 tax for a total of $974.80.(well, it's under a grand) I asked about waiving the Delivery and Premium Setup fee since I had never had them setup my bed before. After all it is not rocket science. I'm 73 and have been moving beds all my life. 50 years ago I sold and installed water beds. I know how to set up a bed. I even explained to them that I let NO ONE into my house, especially not the bedroom for safety and security reasons. Well forget that. The fee is mandatory. My decision was that Select Comfort/Sleep Number just lost a long time customer. The MOST I will do now is fix my current bed under warranty. After all, at 73 how much longer will I need it? Plain and Simple fact, I do not trust these companies to come in and "case" my home.
Definitely not a must. We go to sleep at different times so the split has been nice and he uses the foot warmer nightly which would overheat me, so again that split is cool.
Great review, thanks! We are considering this exact model you have with the new King Koil Smart Life that came out a few months ago. Question- do you have a split or a flex mattress? That is, is only the head region split on the mattress or are both the mattresses separated in the middle? Thanks much!
Don't buy Sleep Number beds with adjustable bed frame. Air bag lasted 2.75 years and had to be replaced "under warranty"........$270! Also, if your a big person the bed deforms on the sides. I forgot to add this nice touch.....if the replacement air bags do not fix the issue there is no return policy!! Avoid sleep number beds and save yourself thousands!!
@@muddywaters0819 $270 was the replacement cost for the bags alone and that was under warranty. There is zero reason for a $7000 bed to break in less than 3 years.
Nice video.. I’m a runner myself and have back pain.. do you still like your mattress? Do you feel it’s worth and did you try any other beds before buying
Thanks for the review. Very helpful! Can I ask you where you got your bed frame? We just purchased the same model (i8 w/ FlexFit3), but I wonder if it's easy to find a bed frame for this type of bed... Any recommendation? Thanks!
Thank you for the review! We just purchased this same model. We are a little hesitant with the full split king and having that gap in the middle. What has been your experience with this? Does it bother you? More pros than cons? Thanks! :)
I’d recommend against the split king for 2 reasons. The first is the gap between the matress is annoying and my wife or I tended to roll into it. Second, I felt like the individual twin mattress felt very wobbly whenever I moved on it. We exchanged it for a flex king and have both been so much more satisfied.
@@Sanchizle we LOVE our i8, but we traded it out for the half split. I 100% recommend the 1/2 split. The full split felt like two separate beds and didn’t feel the same. I would definitely purchase the i8 half split again and again. Definitely worth the investment!!

They sent us the wrong bed. The split all the way down the bed. Tried it out and hated it. The split is for two types of people, couples that do not like each other or old people. It’s like you are on a twin toddler bed. Sending it back for a whole bed not split. But we do love changing our numbers to form and soft. His side firm mine soft, that’s the bed thing about these beds
Worst bed ever. And when you send it back, you have to pay a 2nd shipping charge. You end up spending $600 for absolutely nothing if you don't like it. You're much better off buying an inflatable mattress from Walmart and putting a mattress topper on it than buying a sleep number. The bed is never flat, you either roll into the cavern in the middle, or inflate it more and roll into the cavern on the outside. Terrible product.
DON'T BUY IT! You will not be able to sell it. Once you app it to your phone it's yours FOREVER. You can't transfer ownership. That is a $10,000 white elephant.
