    My last video about the ES120 was very well received, so the manufacturer sent me the new, upgraded version, too. e-Design is known for the coolest open source gadgets like the TS100 soldering iron, different oscilloscopes and now the wildly popular motor screwdrivers!
    This upgraded version is called ES121 and it has a few more tricks up its sleeve than just a different gear ratio.

Just a tip, u cannot use a load cell like the one in the video for measuring the torque, u r measuring kind of noise and structure deformation but not well correlated with the torque. U should put a leverage on the drill and let it press down the load cell, then multiple the force read for the leverage length.
    The load cell is engineered to filter the torque

    Hi:
    ES121 is not upgraded of the ES120, I don't understand why the agent said it was "upgrades."
    ES120 and ES121 are different from the gearbox, ES121 is 1:64, and ES120 is 1:144. The other is the same, the motor speed is 25000rpm.

    Hi Marco. I know this is a fairly old video, but I wanted to pick your brain on this screwdriver. What type of grease would be best for the planetary gear assembly? My ES121 had an issue where the gearbox was slightly binding causing the software to think the screwdriver reached maximum torque and would shut it off after a revolution or two completely unloaded.

  • @johnfrancisdoe1563
    @johnfrancisdoe1563 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    How about a torque test based on the basic definition of torque: Screwdriver directly turns a lightweight arm of known length with a movable weight. Measure ability to lift arm with by turning screwdriver, and you'll have a good measurement in kgm. Multiply by local gravity for Nm.

      Putting a higher capacity battery wouldn't make it more expensive. It's $100-120, and the battery costs them around $0.25. Since it is not a Li-ion battery from one of the 4 big producers, but it's from a no-name Chinese company, (so it's probably more like 150-200 mAh.) it is really cheap. So even doubling the BOM cost of the battery would only add

      Generally there should be at least two radial bearings on the shafting of any drill-esque machinery (at least according to the application notes from precision bearing companies like NSK). The one closest to your bit-holder should be super snug between the shafting and housing, and the second alignment bearing at the opposite end should have some play to accomodate for misalignment in couplings and/or thermal expansion/contraction.

      Use your new drill press to drill out a hex head bit in the center. Then put some super glue on the bit and slide it in the new hole.

    Hab den ES121 jetzt über ein Jahr. Als er geliefert wurde, hat er 3 Tage funktioniert, dann blieb des Display Dunkel. Bangood schickte mir nen neuen. Hab meinen vor drei Tagen bekommen, ein paar Schrauben versucht zu lösen. Schafft er nicht. Darf man ohne Strom die Schrauben raus drehen? Hab dann im A Modus 8 Schrauben von einem Plastik Gehäuse rein gedreht bis auf Anschlag. Am nächsten Tag machte das Gerät nur noch ein paar Umdrehungen. Egal welche Richtung oder Geschwindigkeit ich wähle, nach ein paar Umdrehungen ist Schluss. Geräusch ist auch etwas merkwürdig kratzig. Schon kaputt? Montagsgerät erwischt? Oder kann man da was reparieren?

      Wie hast Du es geschafft das die den austauschen? Ich soll den hier vor Ort reparieren lassen. Hab den dann zerlegt und es liegt am Getriebe. Am Netzteil zieht der Motor samt Getriebe >2A und dreht sich trotzdem nur ein paar Mal. Irgendwas klemmt da.

      @@martinnieder4875 der motor läuft super. der zieht 600mA wenn ich den laden will. im schnitt zog er immer um die 300mA. hab Bangood nen video geschickt das er net funzt und die haben mir einfach nen neuen geschickt. hab aber bis heute noch net des fehlerhafte bauteil gefunden. habe aber vom Hersteller nen schaltplan bekommen.

      @@FusselCNC So, darf meinen jetzt auch zurück schicken. Aber Päckchen kostet schon 17€ und BG will was mit Tracking. Ein DHL Paket kostet >40€ nach China... und dann darf man nicht Mal einen Akku verschicken. Wie hast Du die Retoure gemacht?
      Hab das Teil jetzt doch noch Mal zerlegt um zu prüfen was es denn ist. Das Getriebe sieht gut aus und lässt sich auch relativ leichtgängig drehen. Aber auch ohne Getriebe macht der Motor nur ein paar Umdrehungen. Gibt es dafür irgendwo was passendes?

    Seeing as you did not realise, I designed this specifically for use with mobile phones and tablets - nothing other. More than adequate torque to handle the needs of a daily repairman. Not designed for anything further such as a laptop
