Prof Kirkland's clarity of purpose and personal humility is inspirational. Hard to underestimate the importance of taking this early science into general clinical application. Touch wood.

Such important work. I truly hope that his vision of having international support & funding comes together so that we can see all the benefits to be had with senolytics & other age-related disease interventions.

Great information in this presentation. Seems to really get you up to speed on the work on cellular senescence

When will the human trials on fisetin & quercetin be published?

So taking Metformin and taking Fisefin together daily is not useful? Do I understand this correct?

That is what I understood. Dr. Kirkland’s research has always used senolytics in a “hit and run” fashion- meaning intermittently. Usually the studies use the senolytic for two days once a month or something similar. He states it takes at least a week to six weeks for senescent cells to be produced.

Looks like I'm going to do a washout of Metformin before my next round of Fisetin.

Was any reasoning given as to why you shouldn't give a SASP suppressor with a senolytic? Kirkman mentioned how very little senolytic activity happens when you combine the two.

I find the source Singapore accent very hard to understand . Sub titles would be useful ..

Sad that clinical trials on senolytics are for drugs that will only be avaiable to a chosen few that have a specific disease. Unfortunately aging is not yet classified as a disease so these new drugs won't be prescribed to everyone.

In reference to 55:20 Immortality IMT is a cryptocurrency trying to solve the funding problem in longevity medicine. Probably worth supporting.

quick tip - lose the intro! EVERYBODY despises intros longer than about 3 secs.

1)49min if personal immune system does overtake small number of senescent cells, than wouldnt fixing late 20s decline of immune system solve all the senescent cells problems? Btw if macrophages clear those senescent cells why thymus at that age declines? Is there some connection?
Sorry for such an unrelated question from evolutionary biology:
Is senescence cells amount a subject to evolution? Does demethylation of gametogenesis act against evolutionary filter againtst senescence? That obviously on the top of the faster reproducing - faster evolving contradiction to only reason why fit aging and old age reproducing would be the main evolutionary pro helthspan extending factor.

Let's hope this is more than just philosophy. Philosophy won't make anyone younger. The only thing that will work is hard, scientific research by people like professor David Sinclair of Harvard University.

Sadly the non-native-to-English speaker needs further practice, prior to further presenting to the English speaking public.
