I don’t want any more of our wildlife habitat being handed over to developers to “improve”. We have homeless bobcats making dens in peoples backyards because they have no place to go. They will die off as their prey die off because their food sources are considered weeds. Neatly trimmed lawns have no room for weeds! Plus the increasing amount of runoff from lawn fertilizers/herbicides/pesticides is just killing everything. I myself leave the weeds growing in my backyard and I’ve had to put out watering stations. I live in a (now congested) subdivision and I have hosted a family of Florida marsh rabbits for the past six years. The city cut down their habitat for no apparent reason (just creating jobs). They should have a natural place to live.
