The photo of her as a child being inside a dog cage with the dog outside, is very telling to me.
The fact that tabloids demonized her, A CHILD, for being addicted to substances...HOW TF DO THEY THINK A CHILD BECAME ADDICTED TO THAT?! Even as children, women who are victims are treated the way perpetrators should be.

Also, they mention her alcohol addiction and then call her bloated?! Like, you are talking about a child and you can't go 2 seconds without mentioning how non sexually appealing their body is because of an addiction?! Insane

This video clearly speaks to the fact that Drew is an ABSOLUTE WARRIOR!!!!! She has been through so much, fought for herself, for her life, for her sobriety, her career and now, for her daughters! 😍 In my eyes and opinion, she is and always will be an amazing woman, an amazing mother, an absolutely amazing actress, one hell of a survivor, and most of all she is an amazing human being❣️ I truly hope and pray that many many parents, young ladies, and just people in general can all learn a lot of amazing lessons, at the very least, from Drew and her life about what it's like to never give up on yourself, on the life you deserve, the life you want to live, and the fact that you can achieve anything and everything you put your heart into and fight for!!! God bless you, Drew! God bless everyone and love & light always! 🙏❤️👼💖🌟🩷💫🫶💝🥰💞🧿

My mom sent me to a long-term treatment facility (behavioral/treatment center) in Utah, when I was only 15. I was there until 2 months before I turned 18. I can truly sympathize with Drew. And this made me have a whole new found respect for her. I knew she had substance abuse problems but never knew the extent of what happened to her. It’s sad how programs can profit off of families and children with problems.

This host of this thing cracks me up. Because this guy thinks that Drew going to rehab wasn’t fair because she didn’t like going to rehab, and because she didn’t like it that was just over the line. And then he got into asking why a 14 year old wasn’t able to have access to all of their money made from movies. That Oprah interview is so infuriating to watch. Maybe it comes from having mental struggles, but hearing her ask, "How could you not love yourself? How could you not find yourself beautiful? Look at how famous you are! I struggled with my looks, but I got over it!" Like, OH MY GOD, SHUT UP. THESE ARE THE WORST THINGS TO SAY TO SOMEONE STRUGGLING.

And, she's REALLY smart. I was dumbfounded at how smart she was. I was in the SD classes so I only got to see her for a couple of hours a day. She was in my grade when she was supposed to be two years behind me. I mean, I couldn't stop staring. She's gorgeous. Then, my Mom was like, "Hey, wanna meet Drew Barrymore?" When I went to see her, she lost it on me. It was that girl from school! Holy Crap! It was Drew Barrymore. My Mom grabbed me and we were out of there. I completely forgive her. I know there's a lot Drew isn't telling about her real life struggle just because she's protecting herself (or others) or she doesn't want everything to be out there. But think, what was the purpose of those adults that give her alcohol and drugs? Just "having fun"? Just "showing her the adult world"? Just "teaching her"? Where also we hear statements like those? Yeah, you know it, I know it, we all know it, even if she doesn't talk about it.

How Drew did not become another lost celebrity is incredible. She is so strong to survive all of this. It's a bonafide miracle she is still with us and that she is sober. My god, the strength that takes. Her mother clearly had her own demons she was struggling with, but she should have tried to be there more for her, and if she wasn't capable then maybe she should have asked other family members that aren't struggling with addiction to step in. But it's easy to suggest things with hindsight, I just wish someone could have protected Drew when she was a child.

Like we saw with Cosby that it’s never too late to bring these monsters to justice so let’s not just rehash what happened let’s find and convict them. Or just demonetized if your target audience is under 18? Because it's difficult to watch, feels deeply inauthentic, and doesn't actually shield anyone from anything to bleep out that many words. Just my opinion, but if you cant say facts clearly about the person you're covering, you're doing them and your storytelling a huge disservice. Its so jarring i can't finish watching. He could have alerted someone about what was happening. But would it have helped anything? I feel like CPS wouldn't have done anything dealing with Drew bc even though she was a child, she was Hollywood. That whole world is different from reality and we all know there's some messed up things that go on. Especially with Hollywood parents. They can raise or treat their child a certain way that us normal folk would see as weird.
Think about a 24 or 25 year old Elvis dating a 14 year old Priscilla. No, her parents weren't "Hollywood", but Elvis was and it was as if everyone turned a blind eye to that situation. Some parents of child stars should definitely have their sanity questioned for letting their child be involved in certain situations. Like the singer Usher. For the "sake of his career" and for a "learning experience", his mom let him go and live with P. Diddy, at the age of 14 under the guise of him learning about the business. It was called "Puffy Flavor Camp", but it was a perverted man gr**ming children.
