The Ultimate Swedish Meatballs Served With Egg Noodles

- This is a classic, and family friendly recipe that is fast and delicious. Mini meatballs drowning in a savory sauce of beef broth, heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, sprinkled with fresh parsley, and served over egg noodles.

INGREDIENTS:
Meatballs:
1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup plain Panko bread crumbs
1/3 cup finely chopped onion
1 egg
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoons fresh parsley
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon olive oil
Sauce
3 tablespoons flour
3 tablespoons butter
3 cups beef broth
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1-2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
12 ounces egg noodles, cooked and strained
DIRECTIONS:
Meatballs
Combine all ingredients ingredients in a large mixing bowl, and mix very well, using your hands in necessary.
Roll meat mixture into mini meatballs, and place in a deep skillet with 1 tbsp of olive oil.
Cook the meatballs stirring often for about 6-7 minutes until browned on all sides. Transfer to a dish.
Sauce
Wipe out the pan used for the meatballs with paper towels, and melt the butter, then add the flour stirring until it forms a paste.
Add the broth and bring to a boil as it thickens.
Add remaining ingredients and keep a light boil going for 2-3 minutes.
Add the meatballs back in, and cook an additional 2 minutes coating them with sauce.
Add the fresh parsley and mix well.
Serve meatballs and sauce over egg noodles.

Thank you! Teens require another level of patience. They'll test you for sure but those are some of the hardest and most crucial years. I'm really sad my teenage daughter's tell me about other kids their age that are basically ignored because their older and can take care of themselves more but they still need guidance structure and love. They seek attention somewhere else without it.
We encourage our children to live at home as long as they want to save up give them credit and money tips. To make sure they are independent knowledgeable adults and feel secure going out into the world. Too many kids are booted out or rushed to leave before they fully know how to take care of themselves let alone function as an adult by themselves.

@@cherylhernandez4813 When I turned 18, I could not wait to move out and be on my own, I had been working on a farm since I was 12, knew how to make rent money and food money. It was nice being out on my own. It is a much better feeling buying things with money you worked hard for than spending other peoples money. I think a lot of the kids these days don't understand that..........that was 40 years ago. My Mom and Dad taught me how to cook and I am glad of that.

This son wishes I had allowed my Mom to teach me to cook. I learned to make maybe 2 things before I went on to school. Both involved pasta, of course. After 50 years, I still wish one of us could replicate her best dishes and we can't. We can read recipes.

Your daughter was not having none of this production😆 she was in "little snot" mode, but👍🏾 mom make her get in the kitchen and participate in lessons of responsibility, for the meals provided for her she'll thank you later for all you've taught her trust me. My mom was a priceless cook and i am forever greatful for all i have learned of the cultural dishes passed down to me.👏🏾Way to go mom!

Yeah but she just looks uncomfortable like she didn't want to be there. I have 3 teenage daughters we've been through a lot of emotions tears yelling eye rolling but I remind them to be respectful but i also check myself to be patient and remember how much high school has changed along with the age of social media and that they have a range of hormones at this age. Teen years can be rough be patient and understanding and they'll remember it when their older and hopefully thank you for your patience.

But the recipe was great. I thought it wouldn’t be salty enough but adding the soy sauce is a little off, but works well for more savory salty finish taste. I’m asian, so I use half a teaspoon of MSG as well. Thank you for the recipe! 💙

I'm Swedish, these are not very typical Swedish. You would soak the breadcrumbs in milk or cream for a while. Add pepper, salt. There'd be an onion, finely chopped or grated and fried until soft before adding to the mixture. And there are never Whostershire sause in Swedish meatballs. Not panko either, just plain bread crumbs. Swedish meatballs does not rest in the sauce, which is traditionally made in the pan after frying the meatballs with cream, milk and broth plus salt and pepper. No paprika or worstershire sause. Never clean out the pan in between. And also, Swedish meatballs are served with lingon-berry jam. And potatoes. Nothing wrong with noodles or cooking the meatballs like this, but not very Swedish.

This is VERY like Beef Stroganoff, except using cream here and hamburg., not beef strips & sour cream, the only difference, which to me is slight. I think the sour cream adds a real kick to the flavour, frankly. I also prefer it over wide egg noodles. I think Swedish meatballs actually have the additions of cinnamon & alspice, etc (& not my personal fav seasonings for a savory dish). Worstershire Sauce is a British product & they actually pronounce it "Worster" Sauce, FYI.

I have to tell you that your recipe does not look like Swedish meatballs- but simply meatballs with a cream sauce. Real Swedish meatballs have cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, etc - that is key to meat mixture and gravy. From someone whose sister-in-law lived in Sweden

Little pro tip: cook your butter/flour mixture more. I always cook it until I get that nutty flour scent. Perhaps you do this but the timing of the video makes it seem like you immediately add liquid. 😊
