- After nearly a year and a half, we have finally received a teaser for Volume 9. But who are these "new" characters? And in what state does this teaser find Jaune Arc?

I had another thought that Penny might be Little, like the souls of Remnant end up in Ever After and become Mice, hence why Little is so young, because Penny just died. Couldn’t find a way to fit it in the video, but wanted to bring up the thought.
oh yeah nah, the nightmare lady reminds me to Summer, covered eyes? Yeah Im seeing a pattern here.
There's actually a funnier possibility behind your "Jaune is Little" theory, the first few times he's seen, Jaune was called "Vomit Boy" because of what he did, this might be a reaaaal long callback reflection of that too.
Then furthermore, the Mouse might be a representation of the thing he considers innocent, who he was / left behind when leaving his family behind for school and the knight as the one who has had the failings and became the villain, having 'killed' one of his close friends and his love.
If the knight in the teaser really is Jaune, then please do not make him a villain. He has suffered enough already. Please help him find inner peace. I want his character development.
I agree. However it would make sense if he had a mini ark where he went to villan side for a couple of episodes because of his grief. He would make a halfway turn point after fighting against ruby and seeing what he has done.
I think The queen found jaune guilt ridden offer to help him and she just end up brainwashing him to becoming her knight and snap him out it ruby will have to use crocea mors
That would be super cool! It's always really fun seeing characters using other characters' weapons.

Yeah. 100% on board with this. I've seen people bring up comparisons to Jaden Yuki becoming the Supreme King. If this turns out to be the case I genuinely hope we get to see him using his semblance on himself for combat since CRWBY stated he could do that and never showed us.
@@jonnjones8263 I'm board with Jaune turns into a Supreme king like Jaden did after 3 of his friends are gone and one Blames him for that. My one question would be who will be Jaune Yubel?

To kinda build on the “Queen” being Pyrrha, it would also make sense that an emotionally/mentally compromised Jaune would latch onto this cognition of Pyrrha, serving and protecting her against anything that may harm her, including RWBY.
After what happened with Penny, Jaune doing everything in his abilities to protect “Pyrrha” would make total sense after every failure that he has suffered. It would be as if he has a chance to rectify what he would see as his greatest failure of all; being too weak to saved Pyrrha.
You bring up a good point! Plus with how the figure seems to be somewhat mechanical, much like how Penny used to be a robot, it would be like trying to correct both of his biggest failures by protecting a fusion of the 2 people he failed to save.
Honestly, when I first saw the snippet I immediately figured the knight to be Jaune lost in his depression. But seeing this video and reading this comment gave me another, scarier thought:
What if Jaune wound up in the mechanical area, and his grief and guilt manipulated the space to create a mechanical Pyrrha in the first place? She could still be controlling him after he "made" her, or he could be lost in an escapist fantasy version of events where he becomes her knight.
@@Elris4 that’s honestly a disturbing but also kinda sad thought when you think about it some more.
I think your right on some parts of this, my theroy would be that Ever After might have been created by everyone's minds, emotions, and thoughts. And the new characters we see are ether there Persona's, guilt, fears, or feelings about each other. All of them stuck in a world of there own creation, the way out is to find who they really are, the key is their true self.
We went from the World of Oz to a Alice in Wonderland.
World of Oz being a world of helping others to Alice in Wonderland being a world to help yourself.
I like your idea of Jaune being split in two by the trauma.

I do like how this (if true) continues the Jaune/Salem parallels.
You really seem to be on to something with the identity and purpose of the chain figure. Perhaps Jaune is being weighed down by the "chains" of guilt so to speak? That chain figure may very well be the personification of guilt, perhaps not just of Jaune but all the characters trapped there. It would make for good symbolism if to escape this realm, all the characters must confront and overcome their guilt as represented by the chain villain with June in particular needing to escape his guilt.
I do really hope to see Jaune become something like good Vader from Star Wars. With his semblance he is pretty good rival for Cinder and losing him would be bad for viewers and characters
Also with the fact that they just killed off two characters, I hope they are safe this volume. Now just wonder how team ONER is doing.
I’m really concerned about Jaune because he’s wearing a helmet as if this is foreshadowing a much darker turn.
I feel it's either Jaune's ancestor (as this whole volume is about identity and he comes from a long line of warriors. Not living up to his family legacy. I mean one was a war hero.) There's also a possibly he is being brainwashed. Like that woman we see in the trailer. Is she a reference to the Queen of Hearts? As the island seems to based more on Alice in Wonderland. However a theory is unstead of taking heads...she steals hearts. Is Jaune ends up a victim or not?
Someone told me that they read/heard that Volume 9....is focusing on Ruby's character and there's there will be a big impact on Jaune and Ruby's relationship. From what I was told.

Something interesting, the scene of the knight does not seem to be animated like the rest of the trailer, especially the fire, it does not look anything like the one that appears in the part of the supposed villain, I would say it is a flashback.
It seems to me that it is more possible that the mouse is telling the story of the knight to Ruby and that is what we see in the trailer, if the mood of the person can influence the world, in addition to the cultural differences, it would not be strange that one of the characters is considered a villain just by their mere presence or simple actions, for example, let's say that Jaune fell in a populated area and his fury at what happened caused everything to catch fire.
That makes a lot of sense...I just assumed the armor was worn and new pieces had been added, and hadn't considered it was an artistic change for a flashback/interpretation.
I got an extra possible theory for the knight and queen. That being what if your right and the red queen character isn’t actually real in ever after but is the creation of the purple creature(jabberwock) to get jaune on its side as a potential guardian for its domain.
The jabberwock creature in my perspective seems to have some form of mental abilities with the way the camera/pov acts when it suddenly approached it, what if the jabberwock saw into jaunes mind and created the red queen as a combination of both penny and Pyrrha since the red queen seems to similarities to Pyrrha plus she’s mechanical looking like penny used to be.
Would love to hear everyone’s thoughts on this since it’s still a bit of a stretch😃
In the Alice in wonderland movies you reference, the 2nd one is about Alice becoming the silver night. Or the fighter for the light queen. Juane could become that fighter, or somehow gets sucked into fighting another war. Just a thought l.

Pyrrha might be alive on volume 9
hear me out, the way she died was the same way the others vanished after falling from the bridge, yes, i know it may have been cinder´s powers that killed her
but think about it, they died the same way, and although pyrrha was shot in the heart she might have been somehow saved on the ever after
so yeah, there might be a possibility of pyrrha coming back
Interesting take on the knight, personally I agree it's jaune but he split from guilt forming two halves
little the mouse being his kindness love friendship humility and heart yet his sadness fear and doubt
The knight his jealousy greed anger grief and hatred plus his memories pride mind and loyalty my guess is they will have to go against their "character" by doing what they believe they can't
The little mouse standing up for his friend and saving them
While the knight must betray their leader and show kindness to a foe
I'm oddly partial to an "evil" Jaune, certainly read a couple of fanfics where he wasn't quite as white a knight as we all know. Be an interesting twist, even if a lot of people have already guessed it, if they do the reveal right. And I was curious as to why we didn't see him in the trailer. Not like he has another wardrobe change coming any time soon.
I think that robotic woman could be Penny.
Maybe the Robotic woman was made by Jaune as a sort of self-punishment for killing her.
What I want too see. Badass Jaune. Maybe antihero Jaune. And Jaune x Neo.
5:25 if you look closely at the eyes of both pictures, you'll see that they're the same, but the lighting underneath the leaves is obviously lower so they would appear different at first glance, so that could be the same Cheshire Cat expy underneath the leaves (also if you read the book and watch the movie, the cat had a tendency to appear almost out of nowhere in various shapes and seemingly at random, which would fit with them suddenly being under a pile of leaves)

I love the idea of Jaune being both Little and the knight but if i were a writer for volume 9 i would add a third fake Jaune that acts just like he did before he killed Penny if Little the knight are how Jaune sees himself then the fake one wound be an illusion based on how team rwby sees him.
The helmet is somewhat similar, just like both salem and jaunes insignia is also somewhat similar

I have two theories about this "Alex"
*She'll join the group when they return to Remnant

*She'll sacrifice herself to get them back

I think the armor and the Queen of hearts are manifestation's of Pyhrra's aura inside Jaune
I don't care how, but I hope Jaune is a villain in this season solely to get Miles Luna back into the villain role. He was f*cking brilliant as Felix in RvB.

if you think about it, the Jaune theory might not be right, but might be close, it might not be Jaune but a member of his family instead, in the first volume he himself said that his weapon was a family relic of some sort, and the armor looks the same as Jaune´s, so it might be one of Jaune´s ancestors, hence why the armor looks different and the helmet is added

To be honest I hope you are right on these too especially with Summer Rose being the voice. they are crazy theories good ones. 👍 🤘 this interested me, this volume Is going to be fantastic. I was saying that since the sneak peek came out when they showed Neo trying to attack Ruby when falling through the portal (it was most likely a portal, of sorts) that, that island is magical and it is definitely magical but I can't wait!

The thing I really like about the remnant gods is their appearance
The god of light is an eastern dragon as most dragons in the easr are most of the time allies of humanity
While the god of darkness is an Weastern dragon as dragons in myth their are usually violent or evil, like the Norse ones like fafnir or nidhogr
My theory was that the chained up man was jaune and he was attacked. He was mortally wounded and has a helmet to cover himself. Jaune cracks after looking over the fact that he was left behind and almost forgotten. To him, the team left him to die alone again. It could be where he's made a anti hero
For jaune i was thinking like a personality or manifest one is full of anger and grief and wants vengeance and the other is the like side that is good and curious

If you look at the landscape scene, you may notice the different environments seem to be split up into squares. Almost like --a CHESSBOARD maybe? Another “Alice in Wonderland” reference there.

Oh, good point! I mostly looked at the original wonderland book, but through the looking glass will probably also be a big inspiration. I looked it and there is indeed a White Knight, and he's an inventor too. Really interesting given the seemingly mechanical figure we see.

Oh, I posted a very similar idea to this on the reddit. I'm glad to see that it's not as far-fetched as I was thinking it may be regarding Jaune as the Knave of Hearts and the Queen of Hearts being a manifestation of guilt created by Ruby, Jaune (and potentially Weiss). If that is the case, I think its purpose would be to entrap the people there and drown them in their comfortable self-pity and feelings of worthlessness. (Alternatively, it may to give them exactly what they want to keep them there eternally as the heroes of that land and try to convince them they are needed in the Ever After more than Remnant.)
So, it'll be a throw away season until the writers figure out what's happening with their story, akin to the various Archer seasons of him being in a coma? 😩
Idk if its just me or the island team rwby is on looks a lil too much like the island we saw in RWBY Fairy Tales: The Shallow Sea. Also somewhere in the vid It said something along the lines of "look at what you are under the surface" I think that might mean penny would be a mouse.

She's the one character in this story that shouldn't get warped. Also it would undo all of Jaunes growth, which is unfair to that character.

Im sorry. I think im going to stick with mine. John is in the armor. The 3 eyed thing is a spiritual thing. Because 3 eyes. They fell. Into a world of death. Especially the name of the world gave it off. Now I that one part I think I can agree with. It could be Pyrra it is possible. But I still don't think it is. The chain on her head wasn't hanging like that. Armor is to big. But they could of changed it. But why? Now yes I belive it could be summer. They could be trying to get ruby to find out who she is and what is her purpose. I think sents everyone lost someone and they fell to that place. We will see all the ones the loved. The girl walking for some reson the dress makes me think of Penny. I gotta look back on that but probably not. I dont know.

First, I think they left Jaune out of the teaser just to piss us off. Second, my biggest concern is how will Team RWBY react when they learn it was Jaune who killed Penny? Third, I think that one main focus in the season will be RWBY trying to free Jaune from whatever he's going through. He'll be trapped in some kind of darkness feeling lost, alone and hurt. It will be up to RWBY to free him from it. I also think that after this Volume, each one of them will obtain some sort of magic power

Jaune being the villain that team RWBY kills for a stupid reason as they even blame him for being the reason why they all failed because he cheated his way into beacon.
Why? Because killing Jaune and demeaning him would be the current pattern the RWBY writers like doing... And having Team RWBY focus on the villains they already have would be asking too much for them... Because why use the present villains when you can keep making filler and one sided arguments.
Remember the jnpr death theory well jaune of arc died by fire so maybe jaune may die this volume.
