I finished walking JOGLE few weeks ago. Out 59 nights 54 spent in MSR Hubba Hubba tent. There were strong winds, heavy rain, and even hail, but this tent withstood everything. Sometimes there was condensation on an outer or between a footprint and bottom of the tent, but it wasn't an a big issue, cause it's dries really fast. I never had leaks or anything like that. At one point there was a really heavy rain with a lighting and thunder, that my tent was flooded, but water didn't get inside. Since the tent is freestanding I simply moved it to a higher ground away from flood. This tent was such a comfort after really long exhausting day of walking. Best tent so far, except it's on heavier side.

Well done on completing JOGLE - a bucket list thing for me for sure. I’m so pleased that the hubba hubba really performed well in some pretty gnarly conditions and it’s given me the confidence to push it a bit harder. I agree it’s a little heavy but I think I can forgive it that because it offers so much else. Thank you for watching!

Bit late to this one but my msr arrives today. Bought it for camps with my son after lugging a Berghaus 2 man tent which is 3kg and a right pain to pitch 😂

You’ll notice the weight difference! I’ve taken my lad camping in the msr and we both had tons of room - thanks for watching pal👍🏻

Great tent. Sturdy in high winds w/ty downs. I carry a Helonix Zero and I can sit in it inside the tent, straight up. Nature Hikes makes the 2P Monger, which is an almost exact copy of the Hubba except center height. And $200 less.

Thank you - I’ve just had a look at the nature hikes tent and I may get one as a back up! Excellent price.

I’ve got the Mountain Marathon…bought it from Blacks about the same time when it was on sale….decent tent, easy to pitch, bit heavy for a one man tent compared to similar tents nowadays and definitely for use during the milder weather. Fair review of all set ups👍🏻

Thank you! I think it weighs in at 2.1kg which back then was marketed as super light weight! That said I do like it. My kids spent a week in it in the garden!

I picked up the Hubba NX (1p tent) and love it - light, free standing (which is crucial in the Rocky Mountains where easy ground/grass is non-existant so always hammering stakes into rocks), and love that it's not tapered and is symmetrical so I can pick which side I want to have my door on and my head at. It's been fantastic these last few years in all types of conditions - including waking up to 2" of rain around my tent from a flash storm and a tent pad with zero drainage 😬

It’s good to know that it can withstand some difficult conditions - weather in the uk is set to be a bit wetter soon and I’d like to get out and push the tent a bit harder

@@cragratoutdoors Yeah I was honestly amazed!!! I woke up, reached over to grab my phone that lays next to my sleeping pad to check the time, and realized the bottom of my text felt like a water bed. I unzipped part of the door to see all I had under the vestibule in 2" of water. I was able to pack everything up in my tent (sleeping bag, sleeping bad, change out of night clothes, etc) without any water seeping through the floor!

Sounds like a nightmare situation! Do you have the footprint by any chance? I don’t but will probably purchase

@@cragratoutdoors Yes I was able to find the previous generation footprint as my tent was the newer version with those carbon poles but they changed the footprints to disallow setting up with the poles and fly (as they released a product that does the same) - but the older footprint still had the ability and found it on clearance.
With the thinner materials (30D) than I was used to with my other 2p and 3p tents (75D) I wanted that footprint for sure - but I use footprints for all my tents. I find it's worth the extra small weight.

contemplating the hubba hubba but does concern with its waterproof rating, for its spec is very poor, no way can it be a 4 season with those values, the outer fly is off the ground way too much and the reports of poles snapping is concerning, im told in the US it uses the far superior cyclone poles, where as in the EU and UK uses Daks poles and no option to upgrade to the cyclone. The weight is great though for a two person with twin porch areas but think the terra nova pioneer or southern cross 2 will be more cost-effective long-term 4 season possibility tents, even though carry a weight penalty... thanks for the review

Agreed - I’ve yet to take it out in really gnarly conditions. I have heard some horror stories about the poles breaking in heavy wind too but im unlikely to camp beyond autumn usually (I did a winter camp in Scotland this year - weather was cold but dry) - weight wise it’s very good. If I could afford it I’d buy them all. Guess it’s a case of working out what are the most important factors for you and going from there! Didn’t realise the US poles were different to the EU version. I have relatives in Canada so may ask them to check that out for me - thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. It’s much appreciated
