corrections (thank goink):
- grid/markers are still "allowed", and goink didn't really accuse bikko just made a reddit post
- nico mega mix 1k was on EZ fc, not EZHT
- the detection system actually changed little to none since that cutting edge build where rafis seemingly got a detection
- because the threshold requires much more than "(1)" to actually apply the mod
- it didn't take 4 months to implement, it was in effect by dec. 11 (almost a month after the 900)

Touch screen should absolutely be on a separate leaderboard that’s really the only way to make it competitive again peppy just ruined it so hard
Don't worry tho, Lazer gonna support touchscreen leaderboards I think

@@videogamesruinedmylife3769 The game has evolved. Splitting PP leaderboards into touchscreen and mouse/tablet will literally only help touchscreen players grow. Right now it's impossible to play touchscreen and get good PP because of how peppy killed the playstyle.
How did peppy ruin the gameplay?
@@Meimoons He didn't ruin the gameplay but he ruined the viablilty of the playstyle. Instead of making a seperate PP leaderboard for touchscreen he tried to make the PP system also account for touch screen which doesn't work. Plays on touchscreen are worth less than nothing so its pretty much impossible to become a top player with it (at least according to the PP system).

Touch screen isn't easier for many people. Your arm blocks half the screen and if you're using the finger gun method without gloves the friction can burn your finger.

Bonk playstile allows to fc astro sexy dt but requirers a shitton of practicing, merami playstile allows to stream over 1000bpm but aim suck, fgsky playstile inclused 60hz laptop a pillow, lenovo office mouse and 4mod shiori fc.

Touchscreen playstyle isn't easier than normal one. Just try to click by only your pen to understand that it's not effective (except for some people who really feel more comfortable about this)

why not just introduce a touch screen ranking mode and score board instead of nerfing the feature. the original osu was built on touch screen
I do wonder, most of the community knows that using a tablet is an advantage, so why is touch screen the only nerfed version, if i used a drawing tablet with a pen it kinda borders the line between touch and tablet. If inherent advantage should be nerfed why is touch screen getting short end of the shaft ( no i don’t own an old touch screen desktop that i don’t use anymore and is sitting on my desk as a second monitor).
hitting streams or all the notes is kinda hard to do using touchscreen and a pen for me since my arm is covering half the screen but mad respect to people who can hit all notes perfectly

pp farming ruined touchscreen’s reputation.
pp farm maps contain a lot of jumps, which is easier to do with td. people (who could’ve bough a touchscreen laptop instead of buying a tablet-gaming-keyboard combo and complaining about how “easy” td is) only focus on that aspect and forget that you cant even stream on td alone.
it does need its own leaderboard, though.
you really shoulve added big money for goink as i see that as one of the best scores set from touchscreen

A few years ago I stopped playing OSU. I was a touchscreen player with my laptop in my lap and its screen tilted at its max angle (let's say 45 degrees). I went through a lot trying to optimize touchscreen gameplay. I figured out what colours and shapes for skins stood out the best when your arm/hand blocked the screen, that flour on the screen reduces friction to zero while keeping perfect contact with the stylus tip, what stylus brand was the best for the job, and had a pretty cool tap + keyboard style of gameplay that blitzed through repeating hit circles. I was able to get pretty far in a short amount of time. I should say I haven't watched this video yet, but I remember a patch or update happened that really hampered the gameplay. After that, and realising I was putting a lot of my time into the game, I nearly stopped playing altogether.

playing Osu with a touchscreen is just so fundamentally different that it should just have its own leaderboard. It will always be unfair in one way or another. How are you supposed to code a pp system to judge the difficulty on a map when it is literally impossible to play with mouse or tablet but gets easily passed by touchscreen. You just can not compare the two properly.

I play OSU on Android, and it can SUCK at times.
Trying to manage huge Bursts , streams and spinners can be just too tough to tackle after 6 stars.
Like, those streams wouldn't even leave you to use the other 2 fingers, enough space, to tap(For eg:- While playing fool moon). So , all you can do is go absolute beast mode with just 1 finger to manage streams and bursts.
And using other fingers for streams would just block your game vision. So…yeah

IDK i think that touchscreen is impressive but it depends on how people are using it. If its for pp (only plays before touchscreen nerf) then its not as impressive as mouse or something. But if someone is using it for fun its more impressive because they probably have other playstyles they use
