For a 2005 video game, this is 9/10.

Agggghhhh, makes me want to message EA. Bring back the classics! This game was by far the most fun racing game I've ever played and think lots of people agree. I would KILL for this/another Burnout game on XB1.

and yea i was sad that there was no crashbreaker in paradise.
HELL yes. that was my favorite game ever when i was little, it was soooo intense when you had to dodge all the traffic on the freeway going like 250mph! and it showed me some amazing bands that i still love :) best racing series ever, hope they plan something new!
The graphics was insane running on Ps2 .

It should be ILLEGAL for what EA did to Criterion Games, and for completely killing the Burnout series.

Got this on the PS2. Completed it %100 not too long ago. Super fun game.

Just bought this game today on Xbox Live for 5 bucks.. Had to.. I loved the burnout games back in the day but never owned this one. Backlog is already crazy but oh well this was too good to pass up. great game hope a sequel is in the works

This is the type of game that makes perfect sense and I can love if it's in an arcade hall but simply can't force myself to lie and say it has a single positive point as a home console release.
You neglected to mention that this is the only game in the series where you can plow into cars and small trucks from behind without any consequences. In every other game you have to avoid hitting the traffic.
I cleared my xbox 360 from dust and purchased used copy of this game, shame today we don't have such good titles.

No, however the PS2 version of Revenge can be played via PCSX2.
Burnout still cos 17 bucks, F BULL, cuz this game was one of the 1st 360 games I bought back in the day and this game was old when I got my 360 2008 Sept. I dont see how it can still go for that much ???
@Kamil Rzeźnik if you're a NFS fan more than a burnout fan. Burnout paradise was a failed experiment that combined the joys of wandering aimlessly with the irritation of missing turns and not being able to take other cars down.

The Burnout series is one of the most fun racing game series of all time in my opinion. I own Burnout 3, it's my favorite of the series, but they're all great, it's just great fun, and easy to play.
revenge was my first xbox game, it still remains my favorite arcade driving game.
I like this one more than the Burnout Paradise. Why? Because in this you can crash into cars and cause complete havoc, without wondering if i hit next little taxi, my race is over. (Ofcourse crashing only applied to vehicles that are going the same direction as you and are small, so you couldnt smash trucks, busses etc.)
I used to play this a lot when I was mad to take it out on other cars .. it worked
I Freaking Love The Explosions! It's so anti-stress relief. Too bad that the burnout paradise dont have it anymore.

Seriously This Review will blow the living hell and heaven out you just by watching it in HD 1080p, it's freaking awesome and make me want to play this game.

Revenge is awesome agreed, but Burnout 3 will always hold a special place in my collection. Was the first one I played and 100% it without question. Loved that game.
@KlassicJayVolor - Burnout 3 is one of the downloadable titles on the 360. i dunno if you found it yet, but it has 'Full Game -' at the beginning of the title. 'Full Game - Burnout 3: Takedown' look for it in the F section of downloadable games in the Xbox Marketplace
It came out for PS2 back in 2005 and 360 in March of 2006 - many months before the PS3 system was released.
You can play it on PS3 if it's backward compatible.
Paradise was good, but it was obviously very different from the other games and there was a TON of more cars. The races were annoying lmao and Road rage was a bit difficult when you didn't have a big vehicle, I like Revenge the best
The PS3 wasn't even launched until 2 years after this game was released. People often forget how much earlier the 360 was launched before the PS3 (2005 to 2007, if memory serves).

Burnout Revenge & Burnout 3 have moments where my eyes started to ache because I literally forgot to blink. I was that focused on the SPEED!!!
I agree with the having to drive far away just to race in paradise,
But i like the new crash box, so when you hit someone on the side, the back of them gets smashed, when in paradise, wherever you hit them is what gets smashed. :P
I think both games have their charms, though Burnout Revenge easily has some of the best track designs i've ever seen in a racing game.
I have to agree that Paradise City is my favourite too. Considering how cheap that one is now ($30) on psn for the full version with all the expansions, nobody has any excuse for not owning it.

unfortunately there isn't. however there is a ps2 version and you can get a ps2 emulator for pc and then play it like that.
back in the day when burnout is still burnout and NFS is still NFS.
@ all of you bad mouthing gamestop over prices, just remember they do have employees to pay, locations to rent, business related insurance that needs to be paid, and other costs that running a business take to keep running.

But 3rd is the best imo.
The next Burnout needs to come out already!
Look, to be honest, I played the PS2 version during my childhood, and now I'm going to buy the HD remake for the 360.
The difference between them is that there's more exclusive cars as DLC for Revenge on the 360, and I'm usually a Sony fan!

This was the game that pretty much closed up the last generation..... A great way to go IMO :)
Definitely the best of the series (Takedown a close second). Paradise just had too much faffing; having to drive to a map location to start an event wasn't much fun at all. Neither was having to repeat the same events over and over again as they are reset for every license.
In Revenge the events are, as this reviewer puts it, 'compartmentalised', which just makes it so much easier to navigate through the events and to track progress. Races and time trials are tough but fair.
Revenge if you're just in for speed and adrenalin while going at high stakes at high speeds.
Paradise if you just wanna chill around, taking a cruise without racing, races are available, but you can start them yourself, you can also co-op with your friends online to finish challenges.
Agh I struggled to get that 'Crushinator' achievement lol. FANTASTIC game overall.

@lasarousi I have the PS2 version and Xbox 360 version, and I say yes is a huge difference in graphics, the graphics of the Xbox 360 version are much better, more realistic colors, better textures, and the fact that HD which improves much the graphics, but the video is blurry. and this is why you saw no difference, but live you will see that the difference is big.

Definately getting this! It reminds me of the Speed Racer game for the WII, how you can just smash people straight off the track!
360 took the start meter out of crash mode at least.
But then, I wouldn't have seen this funny moment where a friend destroys his engine, and still gets millions of points as the traffic runs into him if I had the 360 version. ^_^
Probably had the best soundtrack I have heard in a videogame!

thumbs up for a new burnout. I didn't like paradise, i preferred having actual racing levels instead of an open city where it is very easy to get lost.

@gta99silverado crashbreaker is the option to explode your car, not crash mode.
I love this game so much. Paradise was ok. All they needed was a FREAKIN FAST TRAVEL SYSTEM.
Burnout, the best racing game ever
I always loved this game because it encouraged you to crash and for that I didn't feel incompetent to lose to my older broothers
This was the game that got me into Burnout way back in like 2005. Now if only they made a NEW burnout game, instead of just using NFS just because that series uses licensed cars.

I miss being able to destroy traffic, hitting most cars from behind to destroy your opponets, made the races so much fun.

In my opinion one of the best games of all time and i was just playing it today and tomorrow and the next day and the next and so on ill always be playing this great game!
I've owned all of them. It didn't feel the same but the gameplay was very similar. I just personally had more fun with 3 and Revenge got older quicker for me.
Man childhood memories of this game
I love all the burnout games, the first was ehhh ok but a start. Paradise was great to me, but this is one of those games as a kid off the original xbox that I spent countless hours on, if I wasn't playing halo 2 online it was this on those rainy days and long nights. If criterion didn't do something as open the world then I doubt they'd be as successful as they are today. Paradise was a huge success.
anyone play this and the ps2 version? does the 360 controller make it feel different than the ps2 version because of the webbed dpad?
Burnout 2 was, and always will be the best. Was more about avoiding cars then ploughing through them; much more skilled

this version of the burnout series is by far the best they messed things up with paradise I still play revenge on the xbox 360 now and there is still a good following , I downloaded it from the marketplace for £14.99 seems like a lot for an arcade game , but after just 2 days online I feel I have received my moneys worth :)
Just bought this game off Ebay for £11, i think it's pretty rare. Some people on there are trying to sell it for £30 upwards!!
