    This is a Better method than the others shown on TH-cam. In my opinion, it’s Easier to fill and check through the same hole instead of using the full plug on the side which has a cap over it n little room to loosen up n tighten the bolts! Great video!

      @@HowIFixedIt I have decided to do a whole trans filter change in a few weeks or a few months. The 3qrts I added definitely helped my cars shifting felt to first gear but still a little off. I’ve watched a vid that’s supper instructional. I hope everything goes well!

    Hi why do you need to start the vehicle whilst topping up the fluid? Also is your 2is auto or manual?

    • @HowIFixedIt
      @HowIFixedIt  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Transmission fluid expands and contracts while hot or cold. The vehicle in the video is automatic transmission. I’ve never serviced a manual transmission that needed the fluid hot or engine running while filling or topping off. I hope this helps. I appreciate the feedback 👍

    Interesting. But why did extra dark fluid come out when checking the level if it was supposed to be a full exchange of all of the fluid? Is there a danger that only part was drained intitally?

    • @HowIFixedIt
      @HowIFixedIt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Keep flushing. That’s what I did. Be sure to flush as many times as needed.

    Next month, I want to change the transmission for the IS250, 154000 miles, I am not sure if the first owner and the second owner have changed the transmission oil.

      Most vehicles are serviced correctly during ownership. If it’s the first time. I would add some additive in with the new fluid. Lexus states that it must be done very 30k online google. I hope this helps. Thank you for the feedback. I appreciate it 👍

    @How I Fixed It! One question though, why was is dripping so much old fluid from the check plug when you unscrew it the first time? Was the transmition overfilled?

    • @HowIFixedIt
      @HowIFixedIt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The engine was not running. Transmission fluid was mostly inside pan. A slight drip while engine is running. Would be full. I repeated procedure until fluid was clean and fluid full with engine running. I hope this helps. I appreciate the feedback 👍

    If it is not a pan drop and filter change, I would do it at the hose connection at the transmission cooler, ingress pointing up and egress dripping down to a quart bottle. Run the engine and put back in a quart when u see one quart out, repeat until u see fluid same color. That way fluild in valvebody, torque converter and cooler will be flushed out.

    • @HowIFixedIt
      @HowIFixedIt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Absolutely, most people just don’t have a thousand dollar flush machine at home. These are more for the do it yourself automobile owners. Thank you for the feedback. I appreciate it 👍

    • @derekkchung

      @@HowIFixedIt Don't need a flush machine to do the flush. Use funnel to feed, and gravity (and car running) to drain.
