ALSO, if youre going to do this service i advise you, PLEASE. Loosen your “fill plug” first, the 24 socket one. Because if you drain all your fluid out and you cant get that bolt off youre gonna be looking at costy repair
Unfortunately that’s an internal code I usually suggest transmission rebuilt or get a used transmission for that u could do fluid drain and fill n it can help or make it way worst or stays the same regardless it’s probably stuck dude to wear and tear and also all those clutch shavings that become sludge
You're tha man bro! Thanks for the tutorial, was able to get mine done in a snap with ur help :) I did it without the scan tool and jumping the pins. Now, mine has the nav system so this put the nav in Diagnostic mode with my cluster lighting up like a Christmas tree (this is normal). Also, once the fluid reaches 115 F, the RPMs drop to 400 on idle and the ABS light starts blinking, this is the queue to drain the overflow ;-)

Oil pan separator Amazon sells one for $20 I stop welded n grind flush the bolts that connect that one cause they broke doing a timing cover on another Lexus as I was tapping on it or u can try and see if u get one that’s already a one piece but for me 20 bucks n flicking the switch on my welder wasn’t any trouble

Tbh with you sounds like it can be normal to the vehicle age and all I would see if it does it with a/c and off it may be the extra load, also a bad transmission or motor mount shifting due to wear could cause some displacement resulting in a thump or jerking motion as well

For DIY the safest method is repeated drain and fills. If you change the filter another quart will come out. So drain and fill, go drive it around for a few miles, another drain and fill, drive again, etc. You're definitely going to waste new fluid as you're just diluting the old fluid with new. Some Lexus dealers have a fluid exchange machine that will change all fluid (from what ive read on clublexus forum). The is250/350 was out for a few years before Lexus released an adapter that allowed the use of the fluid exchange machine with these cars. This will change all 10qts with new fluid. I believe people posted paperwork receipt that showed it runs around $300 or so, which seems like a great price since 10qts of WS fluid is around $150 by itself.
Hey I know it’s a long shot but I have a 2008 Lexus is250 showing engine code p0983 it’s for a shift solenoid. I’m familiar with the labor that needs to be done because I just replaced a trans valve body on a 2000 Lexus gs300. Do you by any chance know the name of the trans for the 2008 and a possible link for the trans valve body diagram? Any help would be Greatly Appreciated
That one is very simple my bro u just have to open the filler first and then the drain n let it drain then fill up until fluid comes out n you know u are leveled
I think it was about 2 1/2 quarts. But u can measure wat u pull out and add that of u have a dip stick add two n run the engine swift between gears n check level after it’s hot on idle
If you have one with no dip stick I have an over flow kind n that one I put 4 quarts run it to running temp which is at 100f degree then u open the over flow and wait until u see a very thin streak of fluid n close it
I work for Lexus dealer so we use the oem fluid it’s the ws transmission fluid, I would advise u use that one the other ones even though it says it can be used on Japanese cars is I don’t recommend

you can put some zip-ties into some of the holes to hold the gasket in place.. then just clip them an pull out once you got a few bolts threaded...

Always make sure fill plug is able to be removed before draining.
