For the new guys, most of this knowledge takes multiple seasons to learn, can't watch a video & run out in 2 sits & have it mastered.
Found a spot last season that had mixed oaks with honey locust and a few persimmons at the point. I will be sending another success story in if everything goes to plan. Great episode gentlemen.
We look forward to seeing it! Thanks for watching.
All of this was awesome info. Getting me excited for September!!
Yall should look into Chris spikes or robert carter for your show.
We had Robert Carter on ep 130 (audio feed only). We have tried several times to get Chris to come on with no success.
From watching all these episodes I’ve learned that all areas of the country where I live we have mostly hardwoods only about 5% are pine/cedar with annual controlled burns. So food is everywhere.
Chestnut oaks can be really good late season.
@@ncguy6518 water chestnut oaks or mountain chestnut oaks?
@@thesouthernoutdoorsmen mountain. Especially in hill country Ky and Ohio.
Whats up from the mountains of western Md
Lowcountry SC here. I’ve had success with using a raccoon squaller and scraping the bark to get them to leave after dark.
Great time in Dalton .
It was an awesome show!

Question? Where I hunt in north Alabama forest land feed trees are real but extremely hard to find. I have found only 1 in years of trying. The only difference in this tree is it’s a white oak that has grown out of a stump and split into 3 different trunks. Has anyone seen this before or can answer what makes these trees different? The tree I found is ridiculous good unlike anything I’ve ever seen so I know there out there and I’m gonna keep searching for another for sure.
Does it produce a large acorn ?
Not really I would say average to smaller.
Greg only owns Meadow Creek shirts 😂
Now that you mention it I am not sure I have seen Greg in another shirt....
Mountain Oaks ? Is this a specific oak by name ?
It’s a mountain chestnut oak
