I love the simplicity of this guys tactics. Gain the information, be there when it happens, and be patient. Most everyday working individuals can 100% make these things happen! Thanks for this one guys!

Spot on!! Lots of people get too focused on the why, when they already have enough information to be successful.
This ties right into all of the guest y’all have had that talk about using historical information.
If you know a big mature deer was in a particular area working a scrape on a certain date, the why doesn’t really matter. Be there around that same time period the following year or the year after that and if there haven’t been crazy environmental changes like the place was logged, there’s a solid chance another mature buck is going to do something similar around that same time of year 6:23

I don’t think it’s true. I had a spot on a cliff that I’ve gotten 5 big buck outta. For the past 10 years there hasn’t been anything big in the whole area.

@@letsgobrandon7297well deer don’t live on absolutes. If you’re looking for something to always be true or always be false with whitetails you’re in for a rude awakening.
I was simply stating that I’ve seen the exact same thing the guest has and have duplicated it many times over on different properties with trail cams and bucks on my wall

@whitetailhungry6899: I’m agreeing with you on what you just said that it might work for some but there is no absolute or cure all strategy to getting big buck every year especially on public land. I thought u were saying that the strategy he talks about in the video will work everywhere and was saying that isn’t the case.
I’ve gotten about 6-7 buck above 140 class (biggest being 158) and atleast 20 above 125 class hunting on the ground without a blind in archery so consider myself good at adapting but as more years pass by I’m finding it harder to hunt from the ground for big buck.

@@letsgobrandon7297 I agree. I think The mentality around public ground has changed and more quality hunters are putting more pressure on public than ever before making it more and more difficult to be successful.

Ooh boy. This makes so much sense for why people who have hunted the same area for 20+ years can seem to tell you what tree to be in on a particular day

I see the exact same thing with cameras. I've got three stands that if you're not there a specific few days you'll never see a buck. They are most certainly hubs with scrape activity. I've been watching this unfold for years before the bulb lit for me. Started with me wanting to make my own scents to start mock scrapes.

For me pre rut and post rut is way better than actual rut. That’s when I’ve gotten all my big ones.

My area the best places to hunt is by houses and small patches of woods that other hunters don’t go to.

One advantage of him being a taxidermist is he gets to talk to so many successful hunters every year as they bring him bucks to mount.
