My Wife is Chinese, HK born , She has been in Canada longer than me, so I am the Gwailo immigrant. We have eaten in many of the restaurants you have featured here. Also many restaurants large and small in Vancouver, Burnaby and Coquitlam Love the BBQ Duck @ T&T. Thanks for the video.

If you come again and want to try the push cart dimsum there is only one restaurant left in Richmond that has them. It’s called Continental Seafood Restaurant. Not as fancy as Chef Tony but food is hot and service is good.

Dim Sum “Touch of the Heart” is my favorite among Chinese food.. simply put, it’s served in small portion that touches your hearts foodie desires. Vancouver’s China Town seem to offer vast variety of authentic Hong Kong Style dim sum, bake goods and Chinese BBQ in comparison to most of the Chinese restaurants here in the North Bay…I do enjoy Dim Sum restaurants back home in Honolulu at the Chinese Cultural Center maybe because that’s where I was raised. Enjoy you both immensely.. Aloha!

Lol, you guys didn't even scratch the surface of the incredible chinese food options in Richmond. Richmond is like our second home as we are 1 province over and visit several times a year. Those streets are near and dear to me and fun seeing you guys walk it too. I knew you guys went to chef Tony from weeks ago when you posted pics... For your return trip to YVR, I'd recommend Fisherman's terrace, Kirin, Yue restaurant, and Sun Sui Wah for dim sum or sit down dinner. Those 4 resto are the top 4 dim sum places annually in Richmond, take your pick. As for the dim sum tasting light, that to me is the tell tale sign of master level dim sum. Most lesser places are heavy and greasy imho. Forgot to mention that the rushed sensation you experienced is typical of Cantonese restaurants. Wait till you visit Hong Kong and you will see what fast paced is like lol. Island pace vs HK /Asia pace is eye opening. Glad you enjoyed the food, keep the content coming!

Bonjour - Good Day Amanda and Felix. I was born in Asia - Philippines. I lived in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada more than 45 years. I been to Mainland China many times. Every provences of China is very different. The Chinese Food in Vancouver, Canada is different from Toronto, Canada. Montreal, Canada is the French-Canadian city located in Eastern Canada. Montreal, Canada have a Chinese-French--Canadian style food and it is different from Paris-French-Chinese Food and London-English-Chinese Food. The Chinese Food in Canada is different from American-Chinese Food.

It's fascinating to see people from around the world try "Vancouver" chinese food. I've lived in BC for nearly 30 years, and I lived 6 years of it close to Vancouver. Been to Richmond a LOT over the years. At the time I mainly went to eat with my parents and they are super picky about chinese food. We have so much choice in BC that it's overwhelming but they always manage to dwindle our choices done to like 1 or 2 regulars, and everything else gets ignored lmao

Local Chinese Canadians can tell you that the best dim sum offered includes better pricing, freshly made to order food, and in most cases, a 30-45 minute wait, since they are the most popular. Fusion, high priced ingredients with matching prices can take a hike.

All the Dim Sum you ordered looked so yummy. Loved seeing Felix's eyes roll back when eating the Truffle Sui Mai, the Eel Puff Pastry as well as the BBQ Pork. My family uses the Chinese mustard and soy sauce mixture to dip dim sum in and to pour over chow mein, and chow fun. This is pretty old school as most people only use chili oil and soy nowadays. So great to see you guys enjoying food away from your home ground; kind of what happens when we vacation in Hawaii. Hope to see your on-the-road episodes in the future.

there's only about 5 or 6 restuarants left in vancouver that offer push carts. If you ever head back here, hit me up. Not everyone uses the hot mustard or red hot sauce, it really preference, they don't give it to you because honestly, they're cheap and don't want it wasted if it's not used. if you ever come across a truffled mushroom dumpling, that really works. Duck is in a shortage in Vancouver due to a local bird flu epidemic in the farms, the prices have risen over 40% in the past few months.

Richmond, British Columbia is an independent, incorporated municipality / city. Like Burnaby, BC, North Vancouver, BC, and other independent cities, it comprises what is referred to as "Metro Vancouver."

If you ever come back, I highly recommend Chinatown BBQ in downtown and Eggette House in Richmond :)

HK (Hong Kong) BBQ Master has the best roasted pork. Thats my go to. The duck is also very good but it is always sold out. Needs to order and reserve ahead of time. How do you find the food in Vancouver compares to Hawaii?

Great video guys. The Char Siu looked mouthwatering. I was actually in Vancouver last summer and had an amazing time. Too bad you guys didn’t come in the Summer season. The Richmond Night Market in that area is awesome. It’s only open on weekends in April until Fall I believe. Hundreds of Asian street food stalls with so much food. It totally has an Asian atmosphere. Maybe on your next trip there down the road.

Vancouver has the best Chinese food because of all the immigrant chefs and also the superior produce and meat sources from the surrounding area.

The best place in Richmond for roast duck is not HK masters, but a place very nearby: Parker Place Aberdeen Fresh Meat & BBQ

The international airport is in Richmond lol which was why there were so many planes. I would reccomend Tian Shi Fu in Richmond. Hole in the wall but everything is so good and affordable! Also, I get that because it is like 90% Chinese in Richmond, one would think it is our Chinatown but the actual Chinatown is in Vancouver. If you ever come back and visit chinatown, Phnom Penh (must get wings, luc lac, butter beef), Juke fried chicken, New Town Bakery are popular there along with other Japanese fusion. It is kinda sketchy there so I would suggest not going any streets past these restaurants.

HK BBQ is ok . I tried it before and it was recommended by people. We bought a couple of duck and BBQ pork several years ago and brought it home from in Seattle and again it was OK. If you guys ever try another place and it would be the Dollar Meat Store in Vancouver BC China Town, To us they are much better.

You guys should eat at the HK BBQ instead of take out. Everything tastes good with hot fresh rice. Too bad you guys missed the roast duck due to avian flu, no local farm fresh duck for a while now. Sometimes they have duck imported from the US but still very expensive. Enjoy your stay in Vancouver. Ritz is a MUST have for pineapple bun! 😋
