Have the same flip up windshield on a 23 1000 xl and mine does the same thing. Thought about just bungee cording the handles down. If you figure out a fix do share.
Yes. I did 1 inch in the front, (or 1 1/2 inch, can't remember) and 2 inch in the rear. Made it feel a lot less top heavy and stable after the 2 inch lift was installed.
Must be adjustment, my super atv windshield has never popped open. And I’ve put it through the ringer What I don’t like is having to clean it instead of just hitting the wiper..

I just can't figure out how to get mine adjusted properly then. Agreed, a wipe would be nice.
Mine is a 1000 not 1000XL
So you may have more (frame) twist with the longer unit?? Not sure.
