Fergusons stand up is fantastic thts wht got me into his Late Night...unfortunately he left Late Night right after i started watching him regularly. I loved that show. He deconstructed the genre and had fun with it and made sure to get out after 10 years. Couldn't really convert his sucess into a legacy but I don't think it could have gone on for much longer, considering its cental animus was an irreverent sense of irony and cynicism.
@2manysecrets I don't tend towards believing that. Craig said on Seth Meyers' aftershow that he reckons he should have left about 3 years before he actually did and CBS sweetened the deal to hold onto him. Then he said on another show, can't remember which (maybe Stern?) , that CBS were actually very decent to him and he wasn't forced to capitulate to them much etc.
No it is not.....talk shows are just getting started online....Joe Rogan was a pioneer....soon there will be too many to count....it is a matter of time before they get tighter and more professional and lose the huge mics and headphones

Tober That was exactlyyyyyy what I was going to say! I haven’t watched Conan or any of these shows in about 5 years, but Conan was the last one I remember maintaining any dignity in the sense that it only focused on being funny and never brought in politics or any objective opinions. It was just FUNNY entertainment always in good spirits.
Timothy Clark yeah but it’s like crazy now he’s basically a paid promotion for the Democratic Party. It’s annoying for someone who doesn’t lean either way to basically watch an hour paid promotion for the Democratic Party. If I wanted to watch paid promotion from either party I would watch mainstream news (CNN or FOX) not entertainment
Timothy Clark I don’t think she’s talking about politics here. She means back when Colbert was actually funny compared to the unfunny cringe ass he is now.
I think Conan is doing a great job these days. He always did, but now with the format change he es trying to appeal at his TH-cam audience, with short and actually entertaining shows. 5 minute monologue, 1 really funny guest, and maybe some sketch. And posting all the material on TH-cam.
Joe should watch Graham Norton on the BBC, the interactions aren't beat by beat rehearsed and contrived, all the guests are all on at the same and act like actually people.
Yah it's weekly and it only runs for a couple of months a year. I like the fact all guests come out together and interact organically, well organically compaired to that bs on other talk shows.
Jerrod makes it very hard for me to follow him when he constantly interrupts himself mid sentence and starts another one lol jeez. Did that bother any one else?
J.A.G. You're definitely not the only one. I also didn't like the cocky impression he gave towards anything that isn't the newest way of doing things. Although that may not have been what he was saying, but he didn't exactly make it easy to wanna follow along with what he was saying.
I felt the same way. It was hurting my brain trying to parse his incomplete sentence fragments together. "Comedians should, like say when, if you think about, talk shows used to be, when I was on, there was a time when, like music is different, there's no way I would, like Jerry is good at it, commercials are a part of, I eat that shit up."
They should extend Conan's monologue to be half the show, then the rest of the show interview 1 good guest. The interviews are usually so bland and boring and cookie-cut.
The worst part about these late night shows is they will reuse the same exact joke repeatedly, just like news shows will repeat the same script. It is the antithesis of true comedy where the goal is to be original.
ATHLETE.X For Example Emilia Clark went to several Late Night Shows and she has to tell the same story on all shows instead of being interviewed and talk about different stuff because it supposed to be a conversation It’s weird
its because they need to write the jokes in a few hours. its recent shit that just happened that day. They use the obvious jokes and so other shows will also come up with similar jokes. they dont have much time to write them...they go with the obvious quick easy joke.
Siedler Joe why do you care so much? The fact that one comment on the internet upset you to the point that you write a multi-paragraph, insult laden reply says a lot more about you than it does about my opinion about late night shows. You might be well suited to take some things less seriously and, idk, not be so angry.
Don't care what anyone says, Conan is still my favorite. The fact that its entirely tongue in cheek from the ground up, and the host doesn't take himself seriously at all gives it a different feel. That's why the interviews on his show have the best chemistry and funniest moments in my opinion(especially the ones with Bill Burr).
If they weren't talking about the shit show in the white house they would be out to lunch. If you think mainstream night shows could avoid Trump you are out of touch with reality. Like rogan go take your mushrooms and dream away.
its not selling out....its making something for yourself. Selling yourself and your talent....if youre a fucking entertainer there is no such thing as selling out. Thats the fucking point of your life.
Martian891 Most late night shows will feature a comedian or singer to do a performance during the show that night. He was saying that Colbert would essentially record the “Now here is blah blah comedian,” but the comedians’ sets were pre-filmed. Basically he is saying the show would take a day and record 10 comedians doing their sets, and later on would have Colbert introduce them as if they were in-studio when in reality they were recorded possibly days before.
Nitai Gauranga he was a gay porn star that broke out due to a cameo in The Hangover 4...that is, until this morning when the timeline changed again. Fuckin Nelson Mandela and is black magic effect smdh
It may or may not be their views, their highly paid propagandist. They simply swap sides for the check. Colbert played a satirical quasi conservative for years, now hes literally foot in mouth repeating leftist talking points at infinitum.
Colbert is doing the same shit he was doing when he was on comedy central. The only difference is there's a Republican in the oval office. Fuck off dude.
"You'll go on Colbert and then what??? An agent will see you, get you more jobs, get you money... help you pay your bills? Then what... you're famous, you're in movies, doing specials? Then what? "

Colbert is definitely the worst late night host I have ever seen. Not witty, not charismatic, cuts the guests off, doesn't give them any feedback to what they say... I used to think he was witty on the John Stewart show until I realized the wit was scripted wit, not himself.

I mean the dudes like 50 so his comedy is pretty lame as shit by todays standards.
Loved Johnny Carson -- the best! Loved David Letterman when he followed Carson. Liked Jay Leno. Loved Conan when he followed Leno.
Outside of Conan, I'm done with all these guys -- not funny... also interviewing skills... not so good.
Carson talked about the danger of mixing too much politics into the act. How folks would be turned off. That's why he didn't do it. He was right!
James Desch Perfectly said James!!!!
James Desch
Mexico paid for that wall yet?
Craig Ferguson was the only 1 everybody enjoyed being on...i loved watching the Late Late Show while he hosted it he had the best guesys of anybody and made it enjoyable to watch... Fergusons stand up is fantastic thts wht got me into his Late Night...unfortunately he left Late Night right after i started watching him regularly. Fallon is the absolute worst and Colbert is just as bad
Yeah Craig was my favorite. He didn't take himself to seriously. You could tell the guests likee being there.
Totally agree, Craig was the real deal.
Same with me for John Stewart's Daily Show. Started watching right before he left
Conan is the only one of those type of hosts i can stand watching.
Conan is the last of the breed.. late night is dead
No it is not.....talk shows are just getting started online....Joe Rogan was a pioneer....soon there will be too many to count....it is a matter of time before they get tighter and more professional and lose the huge mics and headphones
Still get millions of viewers.... but it’s dead... huh 🤔
Agree... except for Conan and Bill Burr. It’s a timeless relationship!
MILKandTWOSUGAR1 Plus the audience is legit
That’s a interview, that’s different
MILKandTWOSUGAR1 Dennis Miller (pre crazy ranting fuck) and Norm Macdonald was a great time.
First couple minutes are “WTF is he talking about ?”
Alberto Perez I’ve finished the video and still don’t know
He is basically whining that a comedian aren't treated the same like Taylor swift or Ariana Grande.
Don Jawnson Not really since hes unable to finish one sentence...
@Don Jawnson like you?
@Don Jawnson, my thoughts exactly. I feel like all these people are piggy backing off the same bullshit premise and it doesn't hold up at all. I'm at 4:55 and I may not agree with him but he's made a bunch of complete and cogent points already. I'm seriously questioning all these why little bitches' attention spans and comprehension skills.
People should stop WATCHING late night shows
@Tober The last acceptable talk show host was Craig Ferguson, gotta admit that Conan is passable though.
People should do whatever they wanna do
IsaacAndBearecca please explain for those who don't understand
Tober That was exactlyyyyyy what I was going to say! I haven’t watched Conan or any of these shows in about 5 years, but Conan was the last one I remember maintaining any dignity in the sense that it only focused on being funny and never brought in politics or any objective opinions. It was just FUNNY entertainment always in good spirits.
That shit seem like it's staged
Conan with Norm Macdonald is alway funny.
Norm Macdonald's farewell Letterman set was a masterpiece.
Watching Colbert on his old show vs watching him on his new show is how I imagine Obi Wan felt when Anakin went to the dark side.
He never switched sides. He was parodying Republicans. Its hilarious that you think so.
Timothy Clark I think she knows that. He declined drastically from Colbert report to the late night show
Timothy Clark yeah but it’s like crazy now he’s basically a paid promotion for the Democratic Party. It’s annoying for someone who doesn’t lean either way to basically watch an hour paid promotion for the Democratic Party. If I wanted to watch paid promotion from either party I would watch mainstream news (CNN or FOX) not entertainment
That’s a great way to put it lol
Timothy Clark I don’t think she’s talking about politics here. She means back when Colbert was actually funny compared to the unfunny cringe ass he is now.
craig ferguson was the last great one.
I think Conan is doing a great job these days. He always did, but now with the format change he es trying to appeal at his TH-cam audience, with short and actually entertaining shows. 5 minute monologue, 1 really funny guest, and maybe some sketch. And posting all the material on TH-cam.
This man hopes around like 30 different topics. Scattered brain
*hops
Maybe if 30 other people copy the same comment maybe it'll actually be a good comment. Oh wait...
Joe should watch Graham Norton on the BBC, the interactions aren't beat by beat rehearsed and contrived, all the guests are all on at the same and act like actually people.
He's the best
The best part about his show is that he gets everyone drinking so it's actually enjoyable and no politics are being debated
Yah it's weekly and it only runs for a couple of months a year. I like the fact all guests come out together and interact organically, well organically compaired to that bs on other talk shows.
Ronan Keane Graham Norton show has 2 seasons per year with 30+ episodes per year.
www.imdb.com/title/tt0924651/episodes?year=2017
Look it up Daniel, it's not rehearsed. But you can believe whatever you want to believe even when it's contrary to the facts.
Conan is the best! He always makes me laugh.
Joe "fake laugh then take a deep breath" Rogan
Its gotta be hard to keep the show going when you have these two morons in.
really dude he does that when he doesn't agree. He's condescending.
TH-cam clips are the late night graveyard.
Comics should keep doing late shows so I can keep watching 4 minute clips of Norm at 3 in the morning.
Way too many commas bruh, I'm still waiting on that full stop from homes.
Is he ever going to finish a damn thought or sentence?
For the love of God!!! He's trying to communicate I JUST KNOW IT !!!!
Jesus finish a thought dude.
^ late night fan right there.. APPLAUSE!
He’s such a poor speaker
"I was gonna do Letterman when Letterman was on Letterman"
Jerrod makes it very hard for me to follow him when he constantly interrupts himself mid sentence and starts another one lol jeez. Did that bother any one else?
J.A.G. You're definitely not the only one. I also didn't like the cocky impression he gave towards anything that isn't the newest way of doing things. Although that may not have been what he was saying, but he didn't exactly make it easy to wanna follow along with what he was saying.
You're not the only one. He's very incoherent. It's like he's making a point and then he stops mid point and starts another point
Yeah I felt the same way... like wtf is he saying now ? In the middle of nothing he says Rihanna... WTF
He sounds like he has ADHD or something. It’s like he’s halfway throw his sentence and then thinks of something else
The only comedian I enjoy seeing being interviewed on late night TV is Bill Burr. He never disappoints.
Graham Norton is different tho he’s slept on
this podcast is still live and jamie is uploading clips already lol
RIGHT!!?!?! LMAO what a fucking statistical anomaly!
#pullthatupjamie
#pullthatupjamie
And most of the clips overlap. I added a few to a playlist and it was all the same clip, just longer and longer as each clip played. Really annoying.
Matt Payne Joe Rogan supports censorship
The only good late night host is Conan.... the rest are trash
They should extend Conan's monologue to be half the show, then the rest of the show interview 1 good guest. The interviews are usually so bland and boring and cookie-cut.
yes exactly
Totally agree. Watched Conan for over 20 years.
If Will Ferrell is in I watch any tv show.
Did you see timathy olifont or how ever you fucking spell his name call Conan out on this shit with Sturgil Simpson? Hilarious.
"It's never worth it capturing yourself as not yourself; it's a waste of your time." That is an awesome insight on late night talk shows.
ATHLETE.X well, some.ppl like it.
No one is forcing you to watch it
its because they need to write the jokes in a few hours. its recent shit that just happened that day. They use the obvious jokes and so other shows will also come up with similar jokes. they dont have much time to write them...they go with the obvious quick easy joke.
Top Ranked Well some people don't like it and they can still critique it.
I feel like dude couldn’t finish a complete thought
Late night shows still only consist of trump jokes like it's been 2 years and it's all they talk about
And that is my favorite part!! yay! And i hope they dont stop until that pile of shit it gone!
Trump's was a joke 2 years ago and he still is one.
If they weren't talking about the shit show in the white house they would be out to lunch. If you think mainstream night shows could avoid Trump you are out of touch with reality. Like rogan go take your mushrooms and dream away.
Why is rogan popular?
@@FirstPersonHood you people are just as obsessed with trump as his supporters . Truth is , if it wasnt Trump, you would bitch about somethn else
it’s called selling out bro... get with the times
It's not selling out If you buy in
its not selling out....its making something for yourself. Selling yourself and your talent....if youre a fucking entertainer there is no such thing as selling out. Thats the fucking point of your life.
late night died when craig ferguson retired.
amen
Joe "I've never been invited to Jimmy Kimmel's Club" Rogan
Doc X i bet Joes heart sank when he found out and pushed his way through the interview and cried in the bathroom afterwards.
Lol nice fellas great time to release this video seeing as burr literally went to Conan last night xD
What is he talking about? They pretend to do the show? 10 comedians at a time?
I was fucking lost too
Talking in circles...
@@AnApplesLegend exactly. This seemed pretty clear.
Jerod is not making a lot of sense
I told youtube not to recomend me anything with colbert in it....
And yet they continue to do it... ;)
I’d argue that being on Conan, Kimmel or Falcon definitely exposes you to some main stream audiences who haven’t heard of you yet and will become fans
if you want to get bigger, you need to do those shows if you can do tight set
Norm's 8 or so minutes at the end of Letterman is probably my favorite stand up set.
Don't even watch late night talk shows any more to much politics.
4:41 “I was gonna do Letterman when Letterman was on Letterman.” He’s got a way with words.
I think he means when Letterman was on his top game and not when he was looked at as an old dude who used to be famous"
They all can leave but Conan stays because he’s the best one 🔥💪🏻💯
I never knew Joe Rogan was a comedian. Mandela effect?
I vaguely remember him being a hacker-janitor who knew secret freemason words.
Nitai Gauranga he was a gay porn star that broke out due to a cameo in The Hangover 4...that is, until this morning when the timeline changed again. Fuckin Nelson Mandela and is black magic effect smdh
No, not a Mandela effect. You’re just living under a rock
Member when late night shows weren’t about politics. Member when late night shows were funny. Memberrrrrrr
atombond I member
NO!
Ohhh i member
Imagine being so childish that you can't laugh at things you don't agree with.
Bill Burr on Conan is still wild funny
The anti Trump propaganda isn't funny. Colbert should work for CNN.
It was at first, but now after 550 days, it's just dead humor...
Late night shows suck now...all the host's personal political views being forced fed to the trained seals in the audience. Contrived and boring.
spot on
It may or may not be their views, their highly paid propagandist.
Then what? "
Craig Ferguson was the best late night host ever, you never felt like he was disingenuous when it came to being himself
Joey Diaz needs to host a late night talk show. Then I’d watch.
Finally, a person who enjoys ads. I never knew why people are so down on watching commercials and ads. I always found them creative and entertaining. MUST BLOCK ADS AARRGGGG lol silly people just enjoy.
That guy can only finish like 1/10 of his own sentences.
deep down inside, I always knew when the audience clapped at some random guest they were full of it.
Late night: jokes. Rogan: lemme judge everyone.
lost me at "if you're an artist, the audience should come to you"
Colbert is definitely the worst late night host I have ever seen. Not witty, not charismatic, cuts the guests off, doesn't give them any feedback to what they say... I used to think he was witty on the John Stewart show until I realized the wit was scripted wit, not himself.
Mr. E Plus he never laughs at there jokes and stares at them. He seems egotistic
Nope... you are wrong. Maybe you just don't comprehend.
@Yung Peel Actually most are closer to 10 min. So what you're saying is that his job is to produce stuff for people to watch?? you blew my mind yung
Mr. E
Mexico paid for that wall yet?
Watch the one bill burr goes on his show. Colbert has this look on his face like he is offended, at that moment I'm like oh this guy is a snowflake.
Thank you! I also analyze commercials and how quickly they adapt to the current social climate. I find it fascinating
Late shows now are all pushing their own political agenda instead of being funny ..especially Kimmel
Stupid
It's not so much that just Late Night Television has gotten worse; it's that the entirety of Television itself has now become virtually unwatchable.
When you don't finish sentences it's hard to understand what you're trying to say
Can this dude just spit out one complete sentences? 1:33 into it and I haven't got a clue what he's babbling about.
I'm at 6:27 and he's consistently made cogent and complete points. I think it's you tbh.
He's a dumbass
im having no issues understanding him
@@fe5018 it's not just him. I still don't know what he's talking about. Going through the comments to make sense of it.
We all know Graham Norton is the best out of these late night show hosts. It's not even up for dispute.
Mitchell D He’s on the BBC. He’s hilarious and his interviews are great. Look up TH-cam clips of his show.
dsolomon Yep! He’s so great at putting variety of personalities together in one couch.
IMHO he's not that good. I watch him only because he gets quite good guests.
@ he gets good guests coz he doesn't come across as a idiot like most of them
He's average at best, stop trying to make him appear amazing, its dumb and unncessary
Graham Norton's show is still worth watching, no politics, no bullshit, just a couple of celebrities "having a beer" with each other. Good shit
Conan is the only show I watch nowadays.
Love the way this man talks
