Thank you. I definitely kept decreasing until I accidentally knit a nipple on top of my hat. This is much better.
This is exactly what I just did tonight but ended up fixing it with a crochet hook. I'll definitely be trying this method for my next one. 😅👌🏻
haha I've definitely done that in my early knitting years!
😂
I know this video is 5 years old but thank you so so much. You have helped me better than any other video I’ve found ❤😅
So glad to hear that! Thank you! ❤️
you've such a soothing voice! thank you for leading us through the final stages of knitting one's own beanie, much gratitude from my side for your simple and humble instructions!
I haven’t finished off a hat in a while so I searched on TH-cam and up you came. And you are using the same exact needles! Thanks for the great instruction. I am subscribing now!
Love your tutorials and tips, thank you so much for sharing! I just finished knitting my very first baby hat by watching this
(Also a huge thanks for using thicker yarn and including subtitles, it makes all the difference!)
Thank you so much! Congrats on your first finished project of that kind!
Thank you so much for the video. I just finished knitting my first hat that I used DPNs on, to shape the crown. When it came to actually finishing it, I didn't feel confident I knew what to do. So, your video helped me finish it. Thanks. :)
Oh I'm so glad you found it helpful! Thanks for letting me know :)
This techinque worked great. Especially sewing into the rows below. Thanks again.
Thanks for the video, it helped me finish my first hat. You're very clear and helpful.
Thank you! I'm glad it was helpful for ya!
Thank you so much for sharing!! I just finished my first knit hat on circular knitting needles and I didn't want to use dpn's so your instructions were clear and concise!!❤️🥰🙏🏼
I’m so glad it was helpful! Thanks! ❤️
Thank you so much for your excellent video. I quit making hats because I would always mess up the closing using DPN’s. Not anymore thanks to you!!!!
Wonderful explanation!!! You helped me a lot! THANK YOU))
I'm so glad! :)
Thanks for the simple and helpful video!
Happy you found it helpful and clear :)
Thank you for your video, helped me finish by pulling off the correct side of stitches.
Yaaas I can now end a hat in a very easy way!🤗
Yay! I'm so glad this makes it easier :)
Very helpful vdo .thanks ..
So glad you thought so, thanks! ❤️
Thank you! ❤
Thanks for watching ❤️
Hi Emily, I'm knitting a toque with knit 4 purl 4, and I was wondering if you have any recommendations on how I should decrease, since I don't have a pattern. Thank you!
Thank you for the video. I like that you use your circular needles while decreasing instead of switching over to double pointed needles. I am fairly new to knitting and on my first hat using circular needles the pattern said to switch to double pointed to decrease, which I did, but I found using them to be quite awkward.
I'm glad it was helpful :) I find DPN's awkward to use too.
Thank you so much for the video :)
You are so welcome! Thank you!
Hello !! I would love to see the video when you do the decreasing for this hat !! Thank you so much
I will have some videos out later this year that will show some crown decreases for hats :)
Helpful tutorial.
I'm so glad :)
thanks!
I have a beanie as a gift that has opening at the top. I am hoping this tutorial will help (watching now).
Aw thank you so much!! I think I can do this. I was thinking of using a pencil and a bobby pin if I had one. I need to think what I have around the house to fix my beanie (hat) as it's so warm my head loves it! Greetings from southern California. Thanks again for your video!
How to knit edges around faces to finish off
hey, not sure if you check comments or not, but i ran into a problem with a cable knit hat i bought.
basically, the very top had a metal button sewn in (for a pom pom sold seperately), which i cut off. but in doing so, the hat became undone over the next day (i guess i cut a piece of string that closed off the hat as well).
is there any way to fix this? i know how to sew, but not at all how to knit...
Thank You! This was my first time knitting a hat and Unding dpns so this was really useful
Glad to hear it, thank you! :)
Do you have a video to show how to decrease on circular needles?
10 months too late but just knit 2 stitches at a time
Hello Emily. Is the pattern for this hat available anywhere? Is it the same as the light blue one on your Ravelry page?
I believe its the same one as that :)
The closure was good but not what I needed
Nice voice
Why not just thread the needle through the loops while they're on the cord and then pull the needle out? Wouldn't that be quicker and easier?
That's definitely a way you could do it. I think it's just a preference thing, if you find it easier to do it that way then go for it. It should work out the same.
Girl I’m still struggling😭😭😭
