  • How to close a knit hat without getting a hole or gap at the top. This is a great tutorial on how to finish a knitted hat pattern if you keep ending up with a hole at the top, you can avoid that with this.

    Thank you. I definitely kept decreasing until I accidentally knit a nipple on top of my hat. This is much better.

      This is exactly what I just did tonight but ended up fixing it with a crochet hook. I'll definitely be trying this method for my next one. 😅👌🏻

    I haven’t finished off a hat in a while so I searched on TH-cam and up you came. And you are using the same exact needles! Thanks for the great instruction. I am subscribing now!

    Thank you so much for the video. I just finished knitting my first hat that I used DPNs on, to shape the crown. When it came to actually finishing it, I didn't feel confident I knew what to do. So, your video helped me finish it. Thanks. :)

    Thank you so much for your excellent video. I quit making hats because I would always mess up the closing using DPN’s. Not anymore thanks to you!!!!

    Hi Emily, I'm knitting a toque with knit 4 purl 4, and I was wondering if you have any recommendations on how I should decrease, since I don't have a pattern. Thank you!

    Thank you for the video. I like that you use your circular needles while decreasing instead of switching over to double pointed needles. I am fairly new to knitting and on my first hat using circular needles the pattern said to switch to double pointed to decrease, which I did, but I found using them to be quite awkward.

      I'm glad it was helpful :) I find DPN's awkward to use too.

      Aw thank you so much!! I think I can do this. I was thinking of using a pencil and a bobby pin if I had one. I need to think what I have around the house to fix my beanie (hat) as it's so warm my head loves it! Greetings from southern California. Thanks again for your video!

    hey, not sure if you check comments or not, but i ran into a problem with a cable knit hat i bought.
    basically, the very top had a metal button sewn in (for a pom pom sold seperately), which i cut off. but in doing so, the hat became undone over the next day (i guess i cut a piece of string that closed off the hat as well).
    is there any way to fix this? i know how to sew, but not at all how to knit...

    Why not just thread the needle through the loops while they're on the cord and then pull the needle out? Wouldn't that be quicker and easier?

    • @TheBlueMouseKnits
      @TheBlueMouseKnits  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's definitely a way you could do it. I think it's just a preference thing, if you find it easier to do it that way then go for it. It should work out the same.
