You are the only one so far that has explained that the needle size is measured TIP TO TIP. You explain things a little better, with extra details, than others. thank you!
I was really intimidated by knitting (I'm a crocheter) but I found a nice hat pattern for my partner who's about to go through chemo and with your tutorials I was able to get the hang of it in a few hours. Thank you!
You really are a great instructor. Your instructions are very clear and concise. You give great instruction for those considering knitting, but hesitate because they think they can't do it.
I'm not a beginner anymore but I never skip anything in the videos marked for beginners because there's always something, a tip/hack that I was aware so far or I forgot about it. Thank you, Davina, for always being super informative and making knitting so easy and such a fun thing to do.
You are really great at explaining, going slowly, using thicker needles so it's easier to see, and repeating. Some of the other knitting tutorial videos indicate they're for beginners but they explain as though you're not, as though they forgot what it was to be a beginner!! You seem to understand that beginner means beginner. Thanks so much!!
Hi Davina. I just turned 60 and thought this is the right age to learn how to knit with circular needles! Thank you for your tutorial videos. Greetings from South Africa. Lettie
Fantastic! I knew there had to be a way to join while knitting rather than after the fact. I actually take notes when you teach!!!! You are definitely gifted. 😊
That final tip is a lifesaver. I tried knitting a hat (twice) with circular needles that were simply too long and I was confused why the size turned out so wonky. Now I know I was just using the wrong materials! You helped me restore a little faith in my knitting abilities lol
You are amazing I’ve tried so hard to find a video to show me how to knit in the round . I considered myself a circular needle loser. Im making preemie hats for my local NICU and there are patterns that require circular needles. Your video and your teaching methods are exemplary! I’m going to try and make a preemie hat! Thank you so much and the babies who get a hat thank you! I will follow all your videos. I think I will no longer be a loser!
I am a brand new knitter and have watched many different channels for guidance. (Who knew how much there was to learn?!) I have found your videos the most helpful, clear, and reassuring by far! Thank you!! Subbed--and spreading the word about your fabulous channel!!
Starting to knit again after many years. I never learned how to knit in the circular. Your instructions are very clear and easy to follow. I'll be back for more tips. Thank you!
I love your explanations and instructions. They are so easy to understand and digest. Thank you so much for a flawless video! The visuals are fantastic. I am a visual learner and your videos are rad! Lastly, WOWzers for the trick of adding and extra stitch for seamless in the round knitting. God bless ya and your business!
Thankyou so much for teaching me how to knit. A couple of years ago, I learned the basics from your videos (straight knitting) which I knit a couple of baby blankets from and 3 seamed cardigans. I'm so thankful that you never make anyone feel uncomfortable for not already knowing stuff. Also I definitely love the colour and the chunky texture of the yarn you're using in this video.
Thank you so much. You explain and demonstrate so clearly. I can’t thank you enough. I am a beginner as far as knitting in the round and you answered so many questions for me. Happy Knitting!
You are the best knit teacher ever! I learned to knit by watching your videos. I always learn so much from you. I love watching because you are happy, informative, knowledgeable, and overall awesome!
Now I understand why I always found it hard to start with round knitting. I was choosing the wrong needle length for my projects! Thanks for really informative video!
my friend introduced me to knitting and your channel, your videos are so informative and easily digestible. you are such an excellent resource for begginners and beyond, thank you for your channel!
Hi, Davina. I love your knitting videos. You have taught me how to knit from 0 knowledge just one month ago to now being able to cast on, knit, cast off, make a scarf, and now on to try knitting in the round to make a sweater! Thank you.
Thank you so much 😁. I’ve always been scared to try circular knitting as a new knitter and I just tried it after watching this video, and I successfully am working on my first beanie in the round 😆
Such great timing on this! This is exactly what I needed to learn right now. My friend needs a hat and I just happen to come across a pattern that uses this method of knitting in the round. I’ve never done this before and after watching your video, I feel confident to give it a go. Thank you.
I'm a brand new, self-taught knitter. The website I've been using prefers almost exclusively double-pointed needles but I just got my first (sample) set of circular needles yesterday and was excited to try them out. Thank you for showing me how! (I also now know I need a shorter set!)
I love your videos, I was trying to find a hobby and I found your channel. Before I bought anything I watched a couple of your videos and got inspired. Love your channel and learning to knit from your channel
Hi, Thank YOU! 2 years ago I started knitting again ( mainly sweaters for the doll of my granddaughter) and now I am ready for a next challenge: circular knitted sweater for my granddaughter. I was actually a bit overwhelmed at first, but thanks to your video I feel more confident to start it up! Will let you know how it goed 🙂
I watched this as a refresher since it’s been years since I have done any yarn work. After I casted on 180 stitches I started working on my first round. Then you showed the trick for a seamless join. I quickly frogged back 40 or so stitches lol. I love this trick! Thank you so much for sharing it.
I got into knitting about a month ago and didn't know anything! Watching your long tail caston got me started, from there I learned the basic garter stitch. (I think) but I decided to tru round needles and this is really helpful! One of these days I'm going to sit and watch all the how tos you have as you explain it in such an easy way my brain fog doesn't creep in. Thank you for making such amazing tutorials!❤
New to knitting. Granddaughters 6 and 8 made bamboo needles for me and gave me yarn and taught me last Christmas. I have made two scarves for myself and a scarf each for my three kitties, two medium large blankets that just cover me. Now I just learned to purl yesterday and am doing quite well. I would love to make a real blanket. I am guessing the round is the only way. I do have a large needle round. I saved your videos and found them informative and easy to understand for me. Thank you.
I love this type of tutorial because you explain even the things most people would think you don’t need to teach because I someone who very much lacks brain cells I absolutely needed to know those things
Super helpful! I’m a new knitter and just starting to try circular. You gave a lot of heads up on potential problems that probably saved me hours of frustration. Thanks!
I can't express my gratitude enough! I just could NOT figure out how these circular needles were supposed to work 🥲 Very clear and concise explanation ❤
Thanks for another excellent tutorial, Davina. My question was about figuring out how many stitches work with what length, and finally got the answer at the very end of the tutorial, that helps very much. Thanks!
I am thinking to knit a tea warmer for my friend. I had forgotten how to start knitting in circular until the found your video. Thanks a lot for your good instructions and tips. I think I can start now...
Wow, that was so clear! You answered all my questions! I was concerned about having to buy shorter circular needles but see now that it’s not necessary for knitting sweaters for adults. Thank you sooooooo much for your detailed instructions!
I love your videos!!! Thank you for this. I would love to see a tutorial from your channel on how to knit sweaters or vests, I think you're an amazing teacher. Best wishes!!
thank you so much for making this tutorial! I started knitting a week ago and bought my first pair of circular needles yesterday so I can make some hats, this video and your channel is a lifesaver!
I agree, you just make it simple with the discriptions and also the care you take with the camera angles. I had started and stopped and left my project since last spring. Now im looking at tutorials and there you are. I picked it right back up how to do a stitch. Thanks for all the written vocabulary! Super helpful. Last I have a question. If i do not use a starting marker and im almost done my project, will it matter? Im not counting. Just winging the length. Its a cowel. My first wver knitting project.
I’ve knitted in the round several times now (thanks to some older videos of yours), but I still loved watching this video because there’s something about how you specifically knit that is weirdly soothing to watch 😂😅 Also, that twisted piece from the twisted cast on set up actually inspired a new project for me! So cool!!!
Thank you so much for your kind comment ☺️ and yes I think intentionally inserting a twist can be a really cool design element in a headband or cowl or more!
I just want to say a very big thank you, i have just brought my circular needles and was struggling so much, but your tuturial has been brilliant ...I am so happy cant thank you enough!!
Thank you so much for these clear instructions...for me, knitting in the round was complicated and now that I understand the technique because of your video I will be able to knit in the round....you have shown me that it is easy :-) You are a great instructor

Hello! I may be 1 hour late, and I know that you won't be able to read this, but I just want to say that, you are one of my fave youtubers, and I have really found your videos helpful and interesting 😊 Keep on posting!!
😊 Thank yu so much for the video of knitting in the round and how to join the yarn. Im more like an advanced beginner when it comes to knitting. Ive done scarves, cowels, dishclothes a blanket. Cant wait to try working in the round.
I learn how to knit from scratch thanks to your videos.. I am way better in knitting now but your videos and advices (and jokes :D) keep getting better and better!!. Thank you so much!
Simply loved this, i have been using these type of needles but never ventured to actually stitch in the round, so basically scarfs, baby blankets is all i did, now i have more confidence to try other projects. Thank you So much Davina
You’re very welcome! I think the needles look intimidating, which is maybe what scares people off. But the actual process of knitting in the round is quite simple!
I just learned to knit a few weeks ago, and made my first Baby Blanket. Now, I learned to pearl, but I haven't actually done it yet, and I am curious still how to make socks, hats circle items. I was thankful that it doesn't matter that I haven't pearl stitched yet, and I can still try working in the round without having to know that stitch. I loved this video because it was so simple to learn how to connect the ends to make a circle and then work in the round making whatever. I noticed there are two ways you showed me, how to use the stitch marker and connect and then, how to make a seedless stitch using the stitch marker and an extra stitch that magically disappears and looks beautiful when your finished. I prefer the seemless stitch with the extra loop, even though, I'm a beginner, it was easy enough to learn and I like the look better than the first illustration. Thank you I subscribed, and liked the video and I will remember to look for your channel when I need to learn something, fast and easy.
I am always excited to see a new video from you! I have learned so much about knitting and what to do and not to do. Thank you for this one -- I'm about to start my first hat so this was perfect timing.
You are absolutely darling!! I’ve picked up knitting after setting it down 40 years ago (yeah I’m old as dirt) and have forgotten a lot of things and so I’ve been watching TH-cam videos. I watched your one on Getting Guage and it was really good. “Have you got gauge?”, you said and I laughed out loud. I have subscribed to your channel and you are now my new favorite! I need to look through all of your videos, but do you do tutorials on projects? I want to knit my first sweater after a lot of years and you would be fun to follow. If not, consider it! You are simply the best. Thanks for a good time! Cindy SLC
Have never knitted in the round, because I have never been able to understand what "do not twist" meant. Every knit in the round pattern says "do not twist". Because of this tutorial, with its lucid instruction, I will now give knit in the round a try, thanks! First project, a beret!
I have had trouble finding different length needles, and when my friend taught me how to knit she showed me a trick that works okay for that, but I really do wish I could figure out where to buy different length needles other then just an interchangeable set. Loved to see this cause your videos are always so clear and happy that this resource is out there from you as well now
You are the only one so far that has explained that the needle size is measured TIP TO TIP. You explain things a little better, with extra details, than others. thank you!
I've just learned that too. Thought it was just the wire part!!
I was really intimidated by knitting (I'm a crocheter) but I found a nice hat pattern for my partner who's about to go through chemo and with your tutorials I was able to get the hang of it in a few hours. Thank you!
Are they okay?
I know it's been a year since you posted this. But I just would like to say that I knit and I scared to death to crochet so it's alright
You really are a great instructor. Your instructions are very clear and concise. You give great instruction for those considering knitting, but hesitate because they think they can't do it.
Thank you for your kind words! You’re right. Giving knitters confidence is exactly what I aim to do!
Davina is absolutely the best knitting instructor on line! So clear and easy to understand, doesn't assume you already know things you don't.
Thank you for your kind comment. You made my day! 🤗
I'm not a beginner anymore but I never skip anything in the videos marked for beginners because there's always something, a tip/hack that I was aware so far or I forgot about it. Thank you, Davina, for always being super informative and making knitting so easy and such a fun thing to do.

I'm getting back to knitting. Thanks for reminding me of joining in the round with the extra stitch. It really makes a difference.

Good luck and happy knitting! Knitting in the round is so fun!
Hi Davina. I just turned 60 and thought this is the right age to learn how to knit with circular needles! Thank you for your tutorial videos. Greetings from South Africa. Lettie

Do you mind me asking what size needles you used? I'm using 24 inch when my instructions say to use 16 inch. Maybe it won't turn out?
they were 29 inch, so I truly had no idea what I was doing and just bought the first ones I saw at Michael's@@hannahmiller5515

Super helpful! I’m a new knitter and just starting to try circular. You gave a lot of heads up on potential problems that probably saved me hours of frustration. Thanks!

Your teaching is impeccable. You are my favorite knitting instructor!
Thanks!
I think, I hope, I'm ready to make a hat in the round correctly...
Thanks for this very clear explanation!
Thanks for the video. Very helpful. First time hearing how to choose the length of needles and now I know why I was struggling with a project.
You’re welcome!
You demonstrated so clearly and consistent which is helpful to my learning style. Thank you for sharing.
I am thinking to knit a tea warmer for my friend. I had forgotten how to start knitting in circular until the found your video. Thanks a lot for your good instructions and tips. I think I can start now...

Thank you! I'm a total beginner, and I find your videos extremely helpful!
I am so pleased to have learned your seamless join. It has made a huge difference and upgrade to the appearance my projects. Thank you So much!
Wow, that was so clear! You answered all my questions! I was concerned about having to buy shorter circular needles but see now that it’s not necessary for knitting sweaters for adults. Thank you sooooooo much for your detailed instructions!
This has been the most helpful video I’ve ever seen for knitting. THANK YOU!!!
I love your videos!!! Thank you for this. I would love to see a tutorial from your channel on how to knit sweaters or vests, I think you're an amazing teacher. Best wishes!!
I’m planning a chunky sweater video for the fall! Let’s hope I can pull it off 😅🤞

Yay! You’re a fast one. Happy knitting!
Thanks so much for these videos! They are so bright and clear and professional. It has really helped me to become a better knitter!
Thank you for your kind comment! 🤗
Hey this is pretty cool!
My grandma asked me if I knit the round and I had to say I didn't. Now, I'm excited to give it a try. Thank you!!
I just want to say a very big thank you, i have just brought my circular needles and was struggling so much, but your tuturial has been brilliant ...I am so happy cant thank you enough!!
Aww I’m so glad I could help! Knitting in the round is honestly a game changer!
Brilliant video. I didn't realise that knitting in the round was so easy. I'll give it a go.
Thank you so much for these clear instructions...for me, knitting in the round was complicated and now that I understand the technique because of your video I will be able to knit in the round....you have shown me that it is easy :-) You are a great instructor
So clear and understandable, thank you! Also, the way you hold/tension the yarn in your right hand is so interesting and looks so ergonomic! I think I'd like to try that out. Do you happen to have any videos on that technique? No worries if you don't!
Hello!

Twisting has been the bane of my existence.
You are my favourite knitting instructor! Thanks for being so thorough yet so concise. Also, love your energy!
Very clear and easy to follow thankyou. Helpful to know about knitying on shorter needles than the finished item.
So many videos for knitting out there but this is by far the best.
Aww thank you 😊
Thank you for this. I really enjoy your tutorials. You are very clear and concise. You make it relatable and easy to understand. Cheers from FL😺
You explained everything I needed to know about knitting in the round. I really appreciate. Thanks!
Thanks Davina! Great instructions for first-time in-the-round knitters 😀
Knitting in the round intimidates me but this is a great video to help me get over that hurdle! Thanks! 😍
Thank you Davina , I’m wait for my needle and yarn to arrive to attempt my first go at knitting in the round , this video was super helpful ❤
Thank you so much for giving such a clear explanation and demonstration re the use of round needles. I finally have the confidence to give it a try!
So glad to hear that! The needles look intimidating but they’re actually dead easy once you get the hang of them!
Excellent teacher. You are the only one I was able to understand.
Thank you so much. Now, i'll switch to smaller needles. Although i've been knitting for years, this is the first time I am knitting in rounds.
I’m a beginner to knitting and I’ve learned a lot! Thank you ❣️
So glad it helped! 🤗
😊 Thank yu so much for the video of knitting in the round and how to join the yarn. Im more like an advanced beginner when it comes to knitting. Ive done scarves, cowels, dishclothes a blanket. Cant wait to try working in the round.

Very informational. Would have liked to see it before I started my project. Had to learn a couple of these things the hard way.
This brilliant for me as I am an beginner and you actual explain each steps - which is great. Could you please show how to cast off in the round

Lovely ,that was easy to understand after watching so many other videos that got me more confused, Thank you
Thank you so much for explaining how to use round needle, very helpful!
I have had trouble finding different length needles, and when my friend taught me how to knit she showed me a trick that works okay for that, but I really do wish I could figure out where to buy different length needles other then just an interchangeable set. Loved to see this cause your videos are always so clear and happy that this resource is out there from you as well now
Thank you! I’m glad you like the video! I usually buy fixed circular needles from Amazon when I need them delivered quickly
