Great tips there Jamie. I have indeed had good results on hair rigged soft expander pellets this Winter. Great tip using bands for multiple dead maggots, and pulling the band into a grain of corn.
Nice explanation, for what should be simple. But, hey, we all over complicate thing in our heads. I use hairs in 50% of my fishing, always with bigger baits.
Hi Jamie. Could you demonstrate how to whip the line right down to the bend of the hook? I struggle to keep it neat because the hook point impedes the line lay about half way down the shank. Andy James
Hi Jamie great advice thank you. I tend to buy ready tied hair rigs and find quite quickly the the hair length spins ups and ruins the hair due to twists when using pellets to corn. Is there any clues how to reduce this please 👍
Only someone who doesn't appreciate fishing would make a silly comment like hair rigs being useless they are possibly the best invention for fishing since the expander tool came along - if you target carp a quality 4 inch hair rig on a band is an amazing method that catches fish
You can just band corn like you do with a pellet... I band one good size bit of corn when margin fishing. Caught loads of carp.

id like to see that swell, i struggle to get the whippings below the point of the hook.
Jaime, can a "treble" hook be used and bait two prongs with corn and leave one exposed? Won't that serve the same purpose as a short hair rig does ?
Another brilliant video mate, really helpful, but how do you tie all your hooklengths consistently at the same length?
Is the boillie spike any good for pop ups?

Education question, want to try hair rig on rivers, what are the options on hook lengths? I have feeder lengths up to 1m, what is hair rig lengths?
Hair rigs.... complete and utter waste of time!!!!
Why do u say that
Strange comment. I use hair rigs very successfully. My hook rate/land rate was no better when I used the German rig so swapped back to the hair rig.
