  • In this video we compare the stock Ducati V4R mapping to the Akrapovic upmap and our BT Moto custom flashing. We also compare the V4R to the V4 on the dyno and explain why each are amazing and have their own purpose.

I'd say the v4s motor would be faster in any setting, but it's too large for sbk rules.

      V4R 2023 is faster than 4S

Basically yes. It makes more power, it's just physics. Acceleration and top speed require power. Gearing can take care of the rest

I was looking at getting a Speed Triple 1200 but the Ducati is looking like the better option. Way more power and all around better electronics suite.

That bike isn't even in the same price range as the Panigale V4 lol.

It would be a good idea to specify in the title, which v4r you are testing, which in your case is the previous model. The new v4r with the Ducati Racing pro makes 215whp with underseat exhaust, due to better engine internals like the DLC pistons and titanium conrods. I am curious to know your numbers for stage 2 2023 v4r.

Why you didn't tune the bike in SAE instead of STD ? I notice just about everyone is dyno tuning in STD for a higher number

That's the 2023 v4r right? Isn't gearing supposed to make the bike? If you make more power and torque you can use a taller gearing setting, it should completely negate the fact that the v4r revs out farther. If the v4r made more power up the rev range then yes the extra revs matter, you can utilize shorter gearing to increase wheel torque and let the extra revs make up for the lost top speed, but it doesn't make more power so the extra revs do not matter. Speed and acceleration need power. If you don't have the power to push the extra revs, they're useless. Of you shorten the gearing too much to hit the extra revs you will accelerate a bit better comparatively to the previous setting but your top speed will be gone. If ducati could get away with the regular v4, they'd use the regular v4, they wouldn't make the v4r
