    A few observations. Sir you’re not only blessed with getting to swing out toolboxes for your truck but also for having a wife that is as enthusiastic about these things as you are. On top of that she payed enough interest & had enough knowledge to ask ya why you needed a drill bit if ya had self tapping screws?
    I get super excited when my wife pulls up a chair and kicks it with me either in the garage or wherever.

    Sweet. Thanks man. I was worried that the storage boxes wouldn't be able to swing the full 180 degrees like I was looking for. but thankfully, you showed that they can swing past 90 degrees and all the way out to you for a more comfortable position. Thank you.

    Great review! Been thinking about one of these. I don’t have a bed cover, but I think locking my tailgate will prevent someone from swinging it open and walking away with it. Pad locking every time would get annoying.

    Love the ease and simplicity... but i think I would take the extra time to install nutserts in place of the self tapping screws and spray the holes with a primer so my truck bed won't rust 👍🏾

      @@LifeBuzzN Yeah. But do you live in the Great White North with lots and lots of salt on the roads during Winter? I agree with Amp by spraying the holes on the reverse side of where they tapped in with some paint then covering the protruding screw threads with a silicone waterproof caulk would work.

    Did you know that the torque setting on the drill and setting to low-speed will get the same desired effect as using the hand ratchet?

    Nice...You might want to unbolt them and use RTV or paint on the bare metal to keep it from rusting...Also, wish they didn't interfere with the tailgate holder...have a great day...

      Hi I did but the clasp Stays closed and you cannot keep open to close by swinging shut.. You have to pull and hold the lever to close.... must have gotten a dodgy one..

    Got one I’m installing today for my taco. Only thing I’m concerned about is rust where you drill so I’m putting silicon on when I tighten

    I suspect the self tapping screws into the bed will, under the load of the cargo container weight, and rough riding nature of the truck bed itself, be loosen up within a year and stripped out in two.

      Install rivnuts then add a spring washer under the fastener...mike dropped and outa here

    Just some friendly advice.... since you bought a dodge you should just fill both of them up with tow straps as you will need them bring you have a dodge. Lol I’m just messing with you man. Good video. Thank you for the information.

      Power Wagons have been know to rescue Jeeps, Toyotas, and all others! So the straps can help garner beer from stranded folk.

    You should have put some sealant like silicon behind the mounting screws to keep the rust away. But they do look like a good thing to have for a truck. I think I mite get one?

    What is the clearance between the two boxes? Can you load 4' material between them?

      supperterofsanity I’m in doubt. I load 4x8 sheet materials into trucks for a living. Full size trucks don’t have many figment issues. But once you start adding toolboxes and other related bed accessories, we usually gotta find other ways around.

      I own these on both sides of my truck box, and because they sit behind the wheel well you can fit sheets of plywood in between.

    I have the duratech Tonneau cover with the side latches for locking it down. Will this allow me to latch down my Tonneau then swing shut?

    Great video.. I was worried about it making it impossible to carry 4x8 sheets of whatever, but I guess they're easy enough to remove as needed? Do the mounts get in the way in that case?

      Yes. No more rear tie down hooks. But if you have a tonneau like I do then I don’t care. Can always mount new tie down hooks on the side of the bed or use the ones removed.

    Now my question is would the keys for your box work to open someone else’s swing box? If a thief gets a hold of these keys and they’re universal they can just walk around and open any of these boxes they want. Just something to think about.

      Do you think a thief is going to have keys for these boxes? I mean really they use these things called universal keys aka a screw driver.... stop over thinking it’s purpose it’s a deterrent for that opportunist to walk by and look inside a real thief will have the needed equipment to open it in about a second.....

    Great Video, might buy one or two boxes. I like that they fit under the bed cover. By the way what brand is cover? I currently have a bakflip, the Texas heat did a number on it. Had it for 4 1/2 years. looking to buy a Retrax 1 cover.

    Saw earlier comment about the self tapping screws rattling loose after a while. On your truck is it possible to access the back side of the truck box and use a bolt with a lock nut to secure the bracket?

      The boxes are hard plastic. Very durable. Still love mine after all these years.

      Yes, but you would have to move the box to use it.

      I followed the instructions that came with the boxes. Worked out great.
