  • In this video detail mechanism of heterogeneous catalytic hydrogenation is discussed. The example of Palladium on activated charcoal is chosen for hydrocarbon synthesis by reducing an alkene. Molecular orbital theory is applied. HOMO and LUMO interactions are discussed. Useful for gate, net, iit, jee examinations.

      Nope. It cannot reduce aromatic compound. Actually it can only reduce ester and amides at high temp and pressure. Copper chromite and zinc chromite.
