- Unlike the majority of kombatants, Shang Tsung seems to not be very remorseful over his actions. The sorrow expressed in the video mostly comes from Shang failing to convince the others that he's changed, or mocking them for being tricked.

Shang Tsung is just so unapologetically evil, you kinda admire him for it. He's definitely one of the video game best villains out there.
Shang Tsung has been pure evil, selfishness and greed for so long, that I have to respect the man for sticking to his evil ways, even after so many defeats. It's so iconic to his charm, smirk, etc. that him being redeemes just wouldn't feel 100% right.
you know whats funny about shang tsung? he uses the word "vivisection" to describe what he puts his test subjects through. vivisection is the act of performing surgeries while a person is conscious. but when people typically use the word "vivisection" to describe that procedure, they usually are referring to it in a negative way. like that is the word that would be used if someone was convicted of that crime, but the perpetraitor would not use that word to describe what they have done. so the fact that shang tsung DOES use that word just goes to show how twisted and depraved he is
I really sympathize shang Tsung the most in this game.
He was born in the world, designed SPECIFICALLY to screw him over and when he became antagonistic to this world, everyone judges him for it.
You can't say, that "a lot of people have rough life, but not all of them become villains" because what happened to him wasn't just a series of unfortunate events. It was intentional design of his maker.
And you can't say, that shang tsung was irredeemable, because we see good version of deadly alliance in Armageddon chapters.
Liu Kang failed him, without even trying and when it bit him, shifted blame on the victim

I'm calling bullshit on Lui Kang. He said he wanted to reform Shang Tsung. Yet gave him a meaningless life. While Shao Khan was a general to Sindel's army and thrived.
Shao wasn’t intended to be such a powerhouse in the military. He was sickly as a boy according to his bio, but his father trained him to be who he is today. As for Shang Tsung, he could have used his genius for good, but instead became a con man and easily felled to evil.

You a fan of soul calibur? You use a few of stage themes in these sad dialogue videos.
I sure am. I prefer Tekken but Soul Calibur Ost's are more epic imo. MK music is mostly intense battle music which doesn't really fit Sad dialogues.
