Cheers Matt. Congratulations on a truly epic, brave performance. Extremely tough day - massive respect for digging deep and getting it done. I watched it, in its entirety but did so in three parts just to break it up. Incredible event to be part of. Great to see so many familiar faces. Even spotted myself on one of the our & backs. Thank you so much for recording and uploading this. Congratulations once again and best of luck with your next race.
Cheers Colin, yeah it wasn't pleasant weather for running far in, that's for certain ! Glad you've enjoyed watching through and reliving it! How did you get on? Cheers again, and the next race is this Sunday in Buxton, similar elevation gain, but only a half marathon this time!
@@MattClarry Thought Rob Burrow race was fantastic day. Finished in 3:06:41. Was worried how bad the hills would be, but I coped ok and finished strong. Biggest issue I had on day was ridiculously inadequate pre-race toilets meant I started race with stomach issues and had to stop at portable loos on 2 occasions - not good at all. Anyway, have fun at Buxton. Hopefully, your half will be a better experience. Good luck.
Oh wow, that is a great time! Oh no, you don't want stomach issues while out running a marathon! And, yeah, hopefully its a bit more pleasant this time round!

Well Done Matt!!............True grit!! 👍🦾🏃❤
Cheers Stuart !
Amazing stuff... that seemed really tough in parts. Serious effort to get it completed...
Thanks, yeah that was very tough, the heat was unrelenting going up those hills.
Well done, mammoth effort!
Cheers, it took a lot to keep going up those hills in that heat !
Just watched this whole video. You did so fucking well 👏
Cool and thank you!
It was a tough day, so hot, so hilly !
That hill at mile 17 was brutal, made me almost quit my goal time 💪
It was indeed, the hill and the calf cramps made me miss mine !
How did you get on ?
@@MattClarry I finished in 3:29:26, 34 seconds ahead my goal. Needed to cool off with water many times, otherwise I wouldn't have made it.
@@jeisonberaun2307 Ah, awesome, that is a great time !
Hats off to you, that looked effing horrible. The incline at miles 17,18,19 😩
Cheers, yeah, it felt horrible from about mile 17 onwards, the sun was very oppressive that day and the hills from 17/18 were brutal !
its put me off trying it next year. hill's and heat together would kill me!
Oh no, I'm sure it can't be that hot every year! The hills, I don't think they can move those though
lol hills over heat any day for me!!!
Ay. Unfortunately, it looks like I've got both again this Sunday, though only over half the distance this time!
@3:42:29 Community Foundation is who I run with 😍
Ah, cool !
How many water station were there?
Think there were about 6 or 7 water station and 5 gel stations
