    I live in south central Mississippi and I gave it a try. After 7 days with no rain it was not doing anything. I watered on day 7 and started seeing great results after that. I guess you have to be patient. Thanks for your videos.

      @@CentipedeCentralLawnCare The altrazine got the majority of the weeds. I have a bag of fertilome weed and feed 15-0-15 that I bought when I thought the altrazine was not working. Can I use it when I fertilize or should I use Fertilome 15-0-15 fertilizer?

      If you feel like most of the weeds were controlled with the Atrazine now then I would probably get the standard 15-0-15 for the first feeding. Then use the weed and feed on the second summer feeding if weeds need addressing

    I think I read you're supposed to apply it going backwards so that you're not walking through it as you're spraying. Basically, start at the farthest part away from where your hose is and work your way back towards your house.

    I'm in central Illinois. We use 2-4D a lot for turf grass broadleaf weed control. There are a lot of variations and brands for this product. The results are very good. We fight broadleaf plantain (buckhorn), Clover, and Dandelion.
    I was attracted to your video because crabgrass is the worst threat to our sod. It shows up late in the growing season, and I've been searching for a way to prevent it from emerging. Thank you for your video! I'm going to try it.

    Great video bud!! I can definitely testify to atrazine working. My lawn is sitting pretty good right now compared to last year when I knew nothing and did nothing. Im in SC and after applying barricade dg in early/mid February and blanket spraying my whole yard in mid March with atrazine, the only weeds im seeing are a few dandelions and some cudweed the atrazine must've had no effect on. I will say tho I've noticed lots of bare spots where weeds once were. I'm hoping the centipede fills in once I start adding iron and the Andersons 16-0-8 come May..

    You definitely do not see them mix atrazine 8oz of herbicide to 2 gallons of water. You use 1.5oz per 1,000sq.ft. with a minimum spray rate of 1 gallon of water per 1,000sq.ft.
    This is why product labels and proper training are important.

      If I’m understanding you correctly , if you have St. Augustine and have only fertilized in March then now would be the time to fertilize again for sure. It likes Nitrogen more than Centipede and should fill in over time via the stolons. St Augustine doesn’t have seed. I would probably hold off on more Atrazine for a while since you have done 2 apps already and maybe look for a broadleaf weed killer safe for St. Aug. Thanks for the comment!

    I have a centipede yard that is covered in weeds. It is almost mid-May here in NC. We have been gone for months and didn't apply any pre-emergent or fertilizer. It is almost mid-May here in NC.
    What do you suggest to get the yard back going. Aerate, Fertilize first and then add Celsius/Atrazine? Or, would you suggest something different? Thanks so much!

    • @CentipedeCentralLawnCare
      @CentipedeCentralLawnCare  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would take care of the weeds first. Try Atrazine first and whatever weeds are still present after 2-3 weeks you can take care of with either Celsius or Fertilome Weed Free Zone. After the 2-3 week mark then fertilize. Aeration is great practice but do the weeds and fertilizer first. Aeration can toss around weed seeds and make the weed problem worse. Thanks for the comment.

    The atrazine bottle instructions warn you to wear protective clothing, boots, and gloves. If you get any on your skin, it recommends rinsing your skin for 20 minutes. It also states to be sure to walk backwards while applying it. Wearing a T shirt, shorts and flip flops is flirting with disaster. You may want to consider taking down this video so that others who don’t read the directions aren’t mislead.

    The real question is, does anyone know the right answer? I watered mine in yesterday, then i watched your video. then i was confused found this on aa google search, huh.
    Does atrazine need to be watered in?
    Do not apply more than 4 lb a.i. Atrazine (2 applications at 4.37 lbs product rate) per acre per year. Apply to dry grass. This product must be watered in immediately after application.

    • @CentipedeCentralLawnCare
      @CentipedeCentralLawnCare  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What I like to do is apply to dry grass and when I know there will be no rain coming in. Let it sit for 2-3 days so the weeds can absorb the herbicide. Then you want to water it in for the pre-emergent properties of the atrazine to take effect.

    • @kurelgyer
      @kurelgyer 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Read the label. It has specific instructions.
      It's best if there is no rain for 3-4 days (to kill existing weeds). But rain is desired after 7-10 days to get pre-emergent effect.
      It can take 4-6 weeks before you see results.
      You are not to apply more than two applications per year.
