I had a few questions about my transmission given, it's not exactly doing so hot and info on this matter seems to be non-existent. Pretty much, i am looking into getting a "used" transmission from eBay. Some people are saying it needs to be codded, some are saying it doesn't and some are even saying nothing needs to be done if its from the same year, make and model. I am looking into doing a used transmission DIY using my buddy's shop and would love to get some input on what i would need to do to get this done given my transmission is on the brink of death.
Depends on what year BMW you have. If its E90 or something like that, those transmission computers are in the transmission itself, and as far as I'm concerned it does need to be programmed with the vin of your car. Many people on the forums offer remote coding/programming services, those are the people you'd want to talk to, in order to confirm the best course of action for your car. On the newer cars its usually not plug and play.
This is the worst and messiest method. Just use a bushing removal tool. I refurbed my m3 subframe and it took 10 minutes to remove the bushings. I have watched bimmers videos and he has some good ones, but this is just the worst method
Always a good playing with fire! I usually just burn em out all the way. No hammer needed.
Nice fix Chris. That will be a big difference in driveability! Dutch regards, Nico.
Nice! And the comic relief was hilarious!

Thank you really useful
Glad we could help! Thanks for watching, Dan 🙏
Did they make the car louder inside because there harder
No not really! Car was still quite comfortable and quiet on the street after this bushing upgrade.
Thanks for the reply
Any squeaking noise from these poly brushings?
Nope! I've never had a squeak. Use the grease included for install and it shouldn't make a noise.
What happens when this bushes are damage
The problem with these is that all the shocks go in the body of the car.you will tear up the welds on the car
SMH 🤦♂️
